This store deserves “the best grocery store in San Francisco” award. From the General manager…Keith…I think that’s his name…to the cashiers (always pleasant)…and all the employees who work there. Every trip there is easy, fast and little of the well known, SF sketchfest!!! Yea…maybe better variety of certain food items, but it’s just so nice knowing that when you go there…you seldom witness something you wish you hadn’t!!! Go support this store. You will see what I’m saying.
The people who shop here and the people who work here are super friendly. I have run into situations of people telling me where the better produces are, being super nice and helpful, and shoppers offering me to go ahead of them in line for no reason. Will always come back. Plus they do have some really good deals from week to week !
Im tired of fighting with the masses at the Market St. Safeway so now we drive over to this Luckys. Its chill, clean and the staff are the nicest. Our new favorite, even though it is out of our way. We dont mind.
Last night we bought grocery at Lucky’s but left the wine in the shopping cart.We called this morning to ask if their Customer Service Department got the wine in “Lost & Found”, the associate Kee helped us right way! Very professional and very efficient! This is the place you can trust!
Lucky is one of my favorite supermarkets. The inventory is amazing, service good, and prices reasonable.
Good supermarket. Clean in store and parking lot. Also in a good friendly part of the city near Lake Merced. Management gets two thumbs up from me here.
Cheaper than Safeway! Love the fresh meat and seafood counter. They also have a large selection of Crystal Light!
Very friendly & helpful staff. Pharmacy staff is courteous & very helpful!
Hire more cashiers I dont want to wait in a long lines
Its good if youve got a family and prices are good people are friendly lines can be busy evening time is the best time to shop their
Low priced market. Good parking. I very much appreciate the prices & quality of food. 12/21/19: the remodeled store is beautiful inside! Wide isles. Nice flooring. Neatly stacked vegetables & fruit, new self-serve deli!, nice service deli, very clean! Still low food prices. Some neat high end fancy food choices too. The bakery cakes were professional looking. It is a pleasure to shop in this store. I am highly impressed by the great remoleded store & its new layout too. I guess this store competes with Trader Joes nearby & the soon to be built nearby Whole Foods, & perhaps the small Target food store nearby. This stores prices are quite low, & the food is of high quality. So far I have not read of food recalls for Lucky, but I keep reading about food recalls at TJs & some at Whole Foods. Its not their fault, but still. It is what they choose to sell that keeps getting recalled. Not so far at Lucky! May, 2021. Their buffet bar is open again. Tasty. 7/8/21: The hot bar food was good.
Went to purchase some steaks. Butcher told me it would be about 1/2 hour before being ready, a half hour later i approached him again an he said to me they are not ready, I told you it would be a while, No, I said. You said a half hour.I left my cart and went to Safeway and bought better and available steaks at a cheaper price
Shop here all the time for groceries. I always find what Im looking for here and the cashiers are very nice
Store is very and and friendly staff. Their products selection is unique and better than other grocery chains.
Love this place. I can find everything I need. I usually go there once a week. Fairy price generally
Nice groceries bof America inside
Lucky s is awesome! They still give you the discount without the damn card! Great, clean bathroom!! With warm water!! Fair prices! Specials😆🥰
Basic Inventory always seems to be low or nonexistent depending on certain times of the day or week. Excessively long waits at the liquor isle. Meat department always seems a little light on fresh fish. Lucky associates are always nice to talk to and helpful. The store has ample parking and has wheelchair access.
Prefer this store layout. Spacious, clean. Tend to shop sale items, and as such can have pretty good items on sale, including meats, fresh produce. Appealing hot food section, though I dont buy that stuff. Enough bakery item specials such that Id end up buying something.
Big store. Long walk from one end to the other. Clean. Prices high
Lady helped me get the app at the counter at ringing up saved me $30.00...then helped me load my car...Wonderful Folks...Free Bread ;)
Organic collection is low, but you do get almost everything fresh! Their bread selection is great too!
Been around since I can remember and Im 42. They usually have good deals on meats amd poultry.
Quality produce, lots of variety, and customer-focused staff put this grocery store a cut above most.
Staff have good customer service and easy location to get too.
Clean store, and fully stocked, best prices in town😊
I got a breaded chicken cutlet at the deli for $2.99. Was not expecting it to be all that. Totally expecting it to be dry and stringy. I just bit into it cold and its juicy as heck. How??? Its miraculous.
Always fresh produce and they get good deals on wild fresh Atlantic salmon.
A two piece of lemon drop shot plastics. Ended in the bathroom yesterday.!
Surprised there are so many organic produce choices along with vegan friendly products. Dont usually shop chain food stores - convenient location in the Parkside neighborhood.
Excellent grocery store excellent prices I love to shop there
They have fresh and good selection of produce. I also appreciate the wipes. Great neighborhood produce market.
Good layout, nice staff
When ordering from the deli be decisive about what you want and speak loud and clear through your mask so that you get exactly what you want in your meal.
Very nice and clean. The people there are very nice and considerate and eager to help. Nice Experience there!
Better then my childhood memories. I ordered a fresh sandwich and it was done just as good if not better than Subway Sandwiches. The prices are wonderful and servie great. Give them a try.
Late not too busy
Deli has the worst food known to mankind
Best service in town! Late Sunday night my car died and Norman and another employee (she was great but I can’t remember her name!) came out to help me jumpstart my car with their car and their jumper cables. On top of their awesome service and kindness, this is my favorite grocery store around :)
This store has been on Sloat Blvd. since Ive been born. A part of growing up in the City is still around.
Lots of nice selections at the salad bar. $8/lb adds up fast. A hearty meat filled salad box cost over $25! 1 good meal with enough left over for a hearty sandwich.
Lucky used to be Albertsons.
Good.
Would have done my monthly shopping just now, but Im offended by the anti Newsom political group on store property. Going to Safeway
Better parking than other luckys.
Gloryfied Gas Station Food. Old Self Check Out machines. Theyre making money! Theyve gotta get new equipment. Whats that brand they sell? Sunny Farms, or something? Wheres it made? How real is it? This place is a dump, thats why I havent gone there in a long, long, long, long time. Had to, today, but put the stuff down and walked out.
Ive known of this Luckys for so many years but Ive only started shopping here recently. They have the best deals on meat and I love their hash browns! No more Safeway for me
What happened here (in a not good way)? Looked like there was a run on groceries with empty shelves. Walked in, looked around, and walked back out. Lucky on fulton and masonic is 100% better.
This Lucky grocery has made some major improvements and remodeling in recent months. The store redid the flooring and upgraded the produce section. The quality of the fruits and vegetables clearly appear to be fresher. A nice welcome. All these improvements and the prices still remain lower than its Safeway and Nob Hill competitors on the island. The store also has some great deals on beef, chicken and pork.
Big Supermarket with a local feel. For some reason everyone who works there are very helpful to customers and to each other.
Luckys almost always have everything I need for my biweekly shopping trips both online and in person. WAY better than my recent one-off Safeway debacle. Pricing here is much more reasonable, my go-to grocery store. A little unkempt sometimes when I bus it there but otherwise awesome service and great product selection bar none.
Today I was on a ox hunt the last one I look for was that Luckys I never imagined it would be inside the store but it was I went to City Hall in Embarcadero 4 and
Went to the store after work and i was shook!!!!...zero Covid cleaning supplies for the carts not even wipes or paper towels. The employee getting carts didn’t even try to clean them before placing them at the entry. And i was not the only one who saw and was shocked. Security too busy txting and face mask below his nose to give any care about events in the store....and management allowing a rude man to shop with no proper face mask!!!! All in less than an hour.....I’m not ok with my safety being risked and seeing the lack of employee care....will not be returning and telling friends to do the same for this location :(
They have remodeled the store and added a lot of new items/brands. The new layout is much more efficient.Gets a little busy on the weekends. Hoping more open registers will help that.
Do not like Sunnyside foods.
Had to pick up a few essential items at this location. Always quick through the checkout and friendly.
I live across the street from Luckys on sloat and shop there frequently so I do not need to travel far. The bad side is that they are always out of things that I need.
Spacious supermarket. Has more choices in poultry than Safeway and better quality as well.
Lucky Market near Sloat Blvd. in San Francisco has been a truly excellent market throughout the 50+ years Ive shopped there. They have a variety of foods suitable for different dietary needs and preferences. Their Staff knows the products and researches for unusual requests.
Customer service was terrible. They need to post clearly they do not do returns. We bought flavored coffee by mistake and they would not exchange. There is no information about this anywhere in the store. The clerk was passive and rude.
Employees at this location are always friendly and helpful. Items are usually in stock. aisles are clean and not cluttered with merchandise. Overall good experiences when shopping. There is a pharmacy, floral department, deli and hot foods available at this location. Open late hour which is also convenient.
First time to shop at Lucys in awhile. It a large store that offer a great selection of groceries including some ethnic items.(Asian, Mexican). And, it has a BofA branch inside the store. Chech out clerks/baggers were friendly!
One of the nicest chain grocery stores in San Francisco. Just remodeled a great variety of everything. Coffee shop inside, great butcher shop, crate ready made food thats very tasty, discount sale prices on many items, no card or membership needed oh, I felt like I saved a lot of money for shopping here for my groceries I will definitely be going back here. This was my first visit and I loved the experience.
Can’t share much as I only passed by.
This is a really fine store. Huge inventory.
I visit only because of sea food specials. Safe way is better for everything else
The deli staff is always awesome. The cashiers always are friendly and helpful. The meat department has been frustrating. Came in last night and asked if they know anything about preparing beef jerky. The gentleman said you need to thin slice it with the machine to 1/8 inch even cuts. I inquire if they are able to slice some meat for beef jerky, the said it was late and the machine had been cleaned and shut down already. It was late so understandable. So I come come back the next day before 5pm and ask the same guy again. He tells me the same thing. He can’t slice meat since the machine is shut down already. Come on now. Where’s the customer service meat department!!!
New flooring and a face lift make it a roomier, more upscale feel. They now have more healthy, gourmet, international and gluten free products. They just need more single, small carts for those who dont want a full size cart or a hand held basket. Easy location, lots of parking, friendly staff, lots of old timers so it feels like an old community store, which it is. Its on the 23 bus line too.
Good place to visit
I want to buy some lamb shoulders, waiting for about an hour for nothing not as were told would be ready in 10-15minutes.
Very nice store . Big selection on meats since I been feeding my dogs home made dog food . Oh God I’m busier then ever . Lucky is on Sloat great store
A clean, well-lighted store. It is in a nice little mall that has a post office, pet store, and several eateries.
Big supermarket with a variety of food, I bought ready made tea
This is a great supermarket. Large but not overwhelming, good selection, friendly folks.
Very nice store but a little pricey for me. I dont know about you but Im on a budget LOL
Cashiers are hot!
Got just what I wanted. Very nice Seafood person and cashier. Will certainly go back of in the area again
Its my local market. So I love it. Little pricey
I have finally found a well run grocery store in SF that I don’t dread going into.
Not too crowded
Great store. Near my house.
Awesome as always found great parking in front picked up my items and right to the check stand... In and out 15-20mins.at that time of night it went perfect....
Alex is a wonderful employee at Luckys, my favorite store
Very disappointed shopping at this location. Stopped at the milk section and couldn’t find the half & half milk. There was a male employee adjust the milk and other items there that I figured to show me where it would be. I said excuse me several times and he didn’t even look at me and kept on going from section to section walking in front of me. He was less then 3 feet away so I know he heard me. Finally I tapped him on his shoulder and said can you hear me. Where is your Half & Half and he just pointed down the aisle. He Spock English but just didn’t want help. I went ahead and reported in incident to the manager so hope he will have a talk with him. Then went to check out and the register lady charged a item twice and I had to go back to her to get it adjusted. She passed me to another girl which she took me to another register to adjust the charge. She took the item and the receipt and after she adjusted the amount she just walked away before I could say anything, she didn’t give back my item. At this point I was so over this place that I just reached over and grabbed my item and walked out. This all happened in one visit. This store is in big trouble if they can’t get it together before the holidays. Will not be going back and will tell my friends and clients to stay away as well.
Theres no kosher for passover food here. Dont waste your time.
Nice fast moving lines
Everything is always nicely placed and cuomters service is always great.
Similar to Safeway..great variety, good timing, self serve and pay at register options available, great selection of cakes and pastries
Great service, people, products, but beware as on Freebe Friday my Good cottage cheese had pink mold growing on the top. It is almost certain sickness or death.
A much bigger Luckys than the one on the west side of the city. I found the produce to be very fresh and abundant. The meats and poultry was better than other Supermarkets in this.city too. I bought a turkey with havarti sandwich on a Dutch crunch bun while I was there and found it very delicious. A Wells Fargo inside was doing good business that day probably because most people get paid on Friday or are withdrawing funds for the New Year celebration upcoming. A very nice store that is opened on most holidays such as the Fourth of July. The fall pumpkin patch is fun too. Employees were friendly and glad to direct me during this hectic weekend before Thanksgiving.
I really like this store. It is bigger than most grocery stores you find in the city. They carry the usual selection and many options for Asian cuisines. Free and easy parking.
Luckys has a new deli/bakery with lots of good food, etc check it out!
Not well stock, one item did not ring up correctly and I had the ad, front end head clerk was not friendly, borders on rude, tried to tell me we had the wrong item, how so if package had same description and weight on the ad, reluctantly gave us the sale price, this store isnt friendly
I so glad I steped in to pick up one item, Ive been going to luckys on mission in D.C., not any more they are so rude they called me the customer who is always right a liar one day over an item from the fish dept .it was ransid, an should not have been in the counter for consumption.their delli emplyees dont wait on you right away theyll leave you standing there for some time Now Luckys on SLOAT whitish is very close to D.C. is exstreamly clean an well managed an just revamped I tell ya its my new store to shop grocery an meat from now on, cause sometimes I cant make it to LUNARDIS .....
This Lucky is pretty big. Has all the things you need in a supermarket. Self check out helps if you dont need to buy many things. They also take NFC payments. There is also a fast chinese food section but I havent tried it so cant say if its good. Best thing about a large store like this is the bigger selection of food variety.
Always have good veggies, brown bread rolls, and vanilla bean ice cream.
Smokin prices esp for SF...sometimes I think to myself they are just giving away this stuff. My go to supermarket. Since 2007.
