I was skeptical of this luggage until I saw it in the store. I purchased a smaller carry-on in the size required for EU planes. It had a pop-out battery and USB ports to charge electronics which came in handy. I used the carry-on for a trip to Paris and it performed extremely well. I use a cane so having good wheels on the luggage was essential and these wheels were champs. The staff in the store was extremely helpful in helping me select the appropriate bag for my trip. Ill be returning this week for a larger bag for a longer trip.
3 stars cause the product is good. The customer service was not ideal in store and youre better off ordering online than going into stores. Its like the reps dont care about making any sales.
We just had a great first in-store experience with Away! We picked up a suitcase from the Hayes St location. We have previously purchased online but needed a larger checked bag for a quickly approaching trip. I called in first to check colors in stock and they were very helpful letting me know what was available. In store, they quickly ran over the features of a few styles I was not familiar with, and helped with picking the right bag for us. The staff were friendly, kind, helpful, and honest in answering all our questions. The transaction was seamless and I’m happy to now know I have this local option if I need more luggage with short notice! Thank you!
Excellent, cheerful and knowledgeable customer service. Just went in to exchange my 2+ year old carry on and they honored their lifetime warranty no questions asked. The bag had a small stitching issue in the external pocket which my partner pressured me to address but which never bothered me in the past 3 months since it appeared. Other than this minor minor issue, the bag is INDESTRUCTIBLE. Million mile flyer here. Very happy with Away.
I had never bought a piece of luggage that was over $100, but I read stellar performance reviews online, and their luggage looked cute, so I went in person to the store.I loved their customer service, they went through every detail with me, and I left with the everywhere bag and the bigger carry on. I came back a month later -after taking it to 3 countries- and exchanged it for a different color. Even the exchange experience was good. I’ll keep coming back to this company for my travel needs.
This company is impossible to reach. We returned a suitcase in April and still havent been refunded.Heres our situation:1. Weve reached out on their [email protected] over 10 times since April and have gotten zero responses.2. Weve called their customer service line and couldnt get through to a person. Their customer service phone line is a voicemail redirecting you to go online.3. We called their stores and its the same voicemail redirecting you to online.4. We havent received an answer from their online team SINCE APRIL.Bottom line:Dont buy from hereDEAR AWAY, RESPOND TO THIS. BELOW.You need to refund us for our returned suitcase--its been 6 months. Respond below. DO NOT give us a generic help@ response. Be decent.
I just want to shout out the manager of this store who was AMAZING helping me get an older AWAY bag fixed up and shipped out to me. I believe his name was Grant (many apologies if I got that wrong, its been a few weeks). He was amazing and a wonderful brand ambassador and I love my bag even more knowing the people behind it were so wonderful when I needed assistance.

Im a moderate traveler and have not worn out my less expensive set of luggage. Sure Away has some nice benefits, but is the value thre?

We love our Away luggage and bags, and everyone at this store and the Los Angeles store have been friendly and knowledgeable. The only problem is their website during the sale--what a nightmare.
If you travel, you need to buy on of there luggage!I bought the large one, it’s perfect for a checked bag.The luggage itself is quiet light.The wheels works well.The exterior is pretty resistant, I was really surprise.The handle is good quality.The inside system is really convenient, my luggage was half empty during a travel, nothing moved.The lock wasn’t working after using it twice (I had both time my luggage opened at the airport). They respond immediately to my email and changed it. Great customer service.I’m already thinking about buying a second one!
They sell generic overpriced not attractive luggage and carry on bags. Yes they do have a lifetime warranty. But what if they are going to go out of business at some point...
After seeing the ads for months I finally caved and bought one. Very happy with the service at the store and I’m already impressed with the quality of the suitcase. Although a bit on the pricey side, I don’t know of any other brand that will give you lifelong warranty..
Had a lovely conversation with the sales assistant who seemed genuinely interested in where Im taking my new Away bag! I have been living out of a suitcase for the last two years and cant recommend Away bags enough. Get the large and a bigger carry on and Away you go!

Love the classy luggage style. Hoping that they offer a burnt orange/pumpkin soon so I can buy the carry on and hopefully by then they will still offer the $45 discount for buying the suitcase and satchel.Bought the combo carry on and satchel as a group gift for a friend who retired - she LOVES it. She says that the battery charger came in handy when she traveled with her grandchildren and they wanted to recharge their iPads while they were waiting in the airport.
Go see Oscar G. at Away. He will walk you through your options for your traveling style. Never over selling, he just wants to make sure you find the right fit for you. Then ask him about Star Wars and Marvel - they should of had a bar in the store so we could party with the team. Super friendly peeps. We had a question about our purchase the next day and the rest of the team answered our questions and made an adjustment for us. Super Customer service! Thanks Team Away!
I was about to head on my trip to Japan the next day when I realized my handlebars were loose and kept falling down. I explained my situation with Brianna and replaced my suitcase in minutes and totally saved the day!After traveling with my Away suitcase for over year or so, this suitcase is my life and travel savior, and I greatly appreciate the customer service Away brings when it comes to emergencies like this one. 🙌🏽Job well done!
I called in to place two pieces of luggage on hold for purchase later that day. The lady I spoke with placed me on hold to confirm that they had the luggage in stock. Upon confirmation she took my name and number down and said that they would be expecting me later today. When I arrived, I’d waited 15+ minutes, only to be told that there was only 1 of the 2 pieces of luggage. The one they showed had several imperfections.The gentleman (Manager?) I spoke said that he had remembered my conversation with the lady and wasn’t sure why she’d said that. Leading me to two conclusions.... she lied or they sold it. Overall not a great first experience considering that it was a pretty big hassle to get there during rush hour, and they had several hours to call me and let me know that they couldn’t fulfill my order.

Excellent customer service - I was in and out very quickly, they were able to quickly answer all my questions, and really went above and beyond.Ive owned an Away bag for a couple of years, and not only am I very satisfied with its quality, I am also extremely satisfied with their focus on customer service.
We had a small broken part in our suitcase and after explaining the issue to the sales staff, they fix it in a matter of hours. Great customer service and in addition we even bought a carry-on! We now have three Aways and couldn’t be happier!

After we accidentally order from the online website the wrong size carry-on which was a Birthday gift (so time sensitive). To my surprise there is no number to contact customer service!! You can only email with a promise that they would respond with in 24 hrs. ?? ( again this was time sensitive) I find this so frustrating and irritating!! Why am I not able to speak to customer service, It just made me so angry. However after some more searching I was able to locate a number for the San Francisco store. (Which was also not very easy) After calling the store and speaking with them I was told that the number for customer service no longer Existed.... REALLY I cant talk to someone when I have an issue! “WHAT TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE “ Luckily for me I got a Gentleman by the name MATTHEW on the phone that was so helpful. Matthew shipped me the right size and sent me a return packing slip for the wrong one, now that is customer service! The guys at the top of Away should take a few pointer from Matthew, he solved my problem with in a matter of a few mins and made me happy. Not in 24 hrs. And Just FYI, this was the 6th suitcase that my husband and I have purchase from Away, how ever I will have to rethink it next time if I’m not going to be able to SPEAK to a customer service person when i have an issue. Traveling from MKE to SFO, forgot my AWAY charging cord, ran into the nearest store. Oscar completely rescued me in 5 mins with a new charging set! Free of charge!Love this company and its team! Will never buy any other luggage.

The power of social media and marketing with a not-horrible product. In other words... Meh...
I first came in on 2/17/19 to pick out some new luggage for my bday from my husband. The store was really busy and Mia had greeted us as soon as we walked in. I already had in mind what I wanted since the limited edition pastels were sold out online and at the current location. They give you 100 days to try out the luggage and you can return it for whatever reason. I was still on the fence if I wanted to do the 3 piece set (you can pick between 2 different sizes of carry ons, a medium and large size luggage). A great thing is within that 100 days, if you purchase the 2 piece set and decide you wanted the 3rd piece they will honor that pricing for you.I was trying to decide between the white and the pink pieces. I selected 2 pieces, the larger carry on and the medium sized luggage both in white as well as a tile luggage tag. Mia had my luggage tags monogrammed for me while I left for a coffee. By the time I came back everything was ready to go and the rose gold heat stamp was beautiful! Everyone is so helpful at the store with any questions you may have and the customer service is excellent!I had an upcoming trip to LA the following weekend and had called the Melrose location in hopes that they may have a pastel luggage available in any size. A couple days later they had called that they received one medium and were able to ship it to this SF location for me. That same day (2/20/19) I called the SF location to see if they’d be able to locate any of the other pastel luggage pieces to complete my set. Oscar was very helpful and within an hour or so had called me back with great news! He was able to locate the large sized pastel luggage for me in another state and was able to have it shipped to the SF location also.I came in today to pick up my luggage and Oscar and Dane were there to greet me with warm smiles and had my luggage all set to go along with an additional tile luggage tag that I had monogrammed also.The staff at this store really go above and beyond to find you your unicorn pieces and I can’t recommend this location enough! I truly appreciate their efforts in locating these limited pieces and the excellent customer service that is consistent whether they’re helping you in person or over the phone.Also, their luggage is amazing! I got to use my larger carry on this past weekend and was able to fit 4 pairs of shoes (heels, slides, vans high tops and a pair of my husbands shoes), a toiletries bag, Jean jacket, 2 pairs of jeans, 4 workout outfits, 3 shirts, socks, undies a jumpsuit, a dress, 2 Disney mouse ears, a curling iron and my Dyson blow dryer!!! You’d think I would’ve taken the medium sized luggage! Quality products and quality staff! Thanks Away SF in Hayes!

I had briefly heard about a Away through a friend but I had never actually considered buying their luggage until I spoke with the people working at the store and saw their product IRL. The woman who helped me, Breeanna, answered ALL of my questions about the products. (All 378 of them ) She was had tons of knowledge and helped me find the perfect suit case. I bought a pink carry on and have used it twice since then. I thought it would get pretty banged up at the airport but surprisingly the wear on it was minimal and Breeanna recommended I buy a magic eraser, which I did - and my luggage looks as good as new.After trying out my carry on, and obsessively judging anyone at the airport who wasnt carrying an Away luggage, I decided to go back a few weeks ago and buy a large pink luggage.The same woman was working when I went back and she instantly remembered me and asked me how my trip to Chicago went and how my pink luggage did at the airport. She was so sweet to even remember me, considering the store was PACKED both times I went in. Im a customer for life. Needless to say, I bought a large suitcase and Ill be back within the next couple of weeks to buy some for my boyfriend as well! Thanks Breeanna and Away!!
TV commercials drew me into their Hayes Valley location. Luggage at half the price of Tumi. Hoping it holds up as well. The store is understaffed, but eventually someone comes around to help with their products.
