I came in to get a few shards of raw amethyst. Finding this place was more entertaining than the actual shop.I don’t get the big allure of this place.

Amazing metaphysical shop. Difficult to find at first (look up to find the sign at the entrance), but glad I did find it. Wonderful assortment of ritual items and great feel. Will definitely be back. 💜

Fantastic selection of incense and essential herbs, all made in-house is what I was told. Crystal was very generous and helped me find a good oil for my needsOnly complaint is the stones are a little pricy. Might be best to have a look around before coming here if on a budget

Beautiful and intimate shop with very knowledgeable staff.

This shop is seriously magickal. You feel it right upon entering. Located tucked away in a beautiful part of town, I highly suggest patronizing them for any of your needs. Super friendly, you can go in and ask the staff questions, dont be shy. I purchased a small healing oil from them and I use it all the time.

My family is visiting San Francisco and saw High praises about this metaphysical store. We made it a must stop. The workers were very friendly and welcoming. Has a good selection of supplies. You can find crystals, altar tool, tarot, oracle and herbs.

As an occult store its somewhat disappointing. Library is very small, its more style than substance.If youre after a Californian mystic experience and a very San Franciscan style then this store delivers.However if youre looking for genuine astrology, occult and magic supply then this store is bound to disappoint you somewhat.beautiful location, you do need to look carefully for the alley between shops to find the entry. Friendly staff if somewhat dazed and confused.

I would say this was best metaphysical shop I’ve been to, I wish I could visit more often. The people who work there were very welcoming and knowledgeable. It was a very magickal experience to say the least!

I highly recommend visiting Sword & Rose. When you enter you do feel a special energy, a calming, almost magical effect. I received a reading from Krystal and she was absolutely amazing. Very kind, thorough and detailed. She gave me insight and very, very good advice that I will use. I highly recommend Krystal for a reading. I went home with some incense to burn during prayer/meditation and can feel the calming and confident effects almost immediately. Had a reading wit Crystal, she was amazing and I got so much out of it. I’d definitely recommend her and the shop is magical, something out of Harry Potter. I also bought a pendulum, some incense and oils that they make, and I love them all.

Me and my best friend went as I wanted to buy Tarot cards, and she wanted to buy crystals. We were both extremely shy but the vibe was so mellow and nice. They had an amazing selection of things, it’s 100% worth checking out!

Very knowledgeable staff and great selection of stones and books

First let me start with how to find. Blue building across from the muni train stop there is a walkway between the 2 Doors. There is a faded sign above the walkway that says Sword and Rose. There its a small garden area and cottage like door that is place. Small but had a Great vibe lots of incense, stones, jewelry, rune stones,some tarot cards, and books. Didnt get a chance to get a reading but employees were very friendly and helpful. Will definatly stop back in when I get to go back to San Fran.

Most potent incense and oils Ive ever come across. Pure magic

The atmosphere alone is worth the visit. You enter through a secret courtyard off of Carl Street, and it instantly smells like the special mix of incense, rocks and dust that all occult shops have. Its a tiny shop, so manuever carefully, but every square inch is packed with supplies for your craft/practice. I reserved a star because it was a little awkward to tip toe around the owner and his friend talking about his personal legal troubles.

Patrick really helped me to dive into my inner younger self and how my self-talk was related to the cards. Also, the cards helped me to determine my future and decisions and now 6 months later. Im happy and living my best life right now in Taiwan with an amazing woman. Regardless of what happens, I am happy he was the person to help me get here in my life.Much amore

I have been here a handful of times before. I love this tiny Hobbit hole of a Magick shop. You have to walk through a tunnel way into a small courtyard to get to the shop. Definitely not an easy place to find if you dont know where you are going. It is truly tiny. It is difficult for more than 2 or 3 people to be in there shopping at the same time. And it is rather dark inside, so it takes a moment for your eyes to adjust. But once they do, you realize you have left the mundane world behind for a bit. The staff is friendly and a bit... eccentric. Honestly dont tend to go here if I am looking for something in particular, but more for the environment and experience of the place. But I usually find something I didnt even know I needed.

Very nice people, they were closing but didnt rush is and answered our questions and chatted a bit. Definitely will return when Im visiting the city.

This place is magic! Patrick is truly gifted. This is by FAR the best metaphysical space in SF. As far as prices go, their prices match any other store where you buy stones. The staff is very knowledgeable and its truly a San Francisco iconic place to visit---one of the last remaining stores. Im moving away from the city and am most sad to be moving from this amazing institution. Blessings!

Ive been coming here for years for the hand-blended incense and bath salts. Occasionally I buy a book, jewelry, or a stone. But I also come here to chat with Patrick for some advice and soak in the atmosphere of the stove thats always going or sit in the garden. A lovely, healing place.

This is a San Francisco hidden treasure. This metaphysical shop has great home made insence. Nice, but small selection of books. They also do readings and have a selection of crystals.

Love the store ambiance, really cool but prices are the biggest rip off. Got a red jasper heart for 20$ . I can find the same online for 3$ . I even understand 10$ but 20 is grossly overpriced. Even the guy manning the shop was ashamed and mentioned that he was sorry and didnt set prices. I understand mark ups but I feel cheated.
