WORLD OF STEREO has moved from Market str. and 7th, to 6th st. at Brennan. New space is well organized, serving varied needs of amateur and professional musicians, also just music lovers for gadgets, adapters, speakers etc. Nowdays everyone could be a music producer, vloger or meme creator, - store is eager to accommodate. The owner, Mr. Mouklis ise in this business for last 35 years, first with accent on cameras, but after 9-11, flow of tourists reduced, also phone cameras became prevalent. Meanwhile music scene blossomed as demand for entertainment and means of expression, naturally WORLD of STEREO became a largest and most comprehensive and dependable supplier in San Francisco and Bay area. I personally use store services for seven years and at new location its a pleasure to come for advice and friendly purchase. Amazon, Ebay dont talk to you, plus you may strike a good deal. Have fun.

Dropped by a few times to pick up some odds and ends after moving to SF. They price matched some hs8s for me no problem. Staff is knowledgeable courteous and a general pleasure.

It was all right,I guess.one of the employees kept haranguing the other employees while customers were there and it seemed unprofessional.other than that it was cool.

They are after your money. Bad service. Discount banner outside are completely fake. Once you are paid. your money is gone. Be careful when you shop there. Avoid if possible.

This DJ store has been in my life for over 20yrs...The guys in WS seem nice, but will definitely haggle & then rip you off almost.But I like them and there cold cover of a stereo store.Never have I bought weed, crack or heroin with headed there for some dj equipment needs.Or robbed even.But its out there if you need it.

Came here with my boyfriend looking to buy some drum pads. They had a pretty good selection for a small shop and the prices were equal to what I saw on Amazon. Their products range in pricing which Im glad because I didnt want to go too high-end for a beginners purchase. We were helped out by 2 gentlemen who knew what they were talking about and gave great advice knowing that I didnt know much about the brands. They werent too pushy and I am very happy with my purchase! Will definitely be coming back here.

I think the first time I shopped here might have been over 20 years ago, if not its close to that. This place is a staple of what Id consider to be authentic San Francisco. For as much as SF has changed in recent years, its dope and comforting that WoS is still rock solid. Theyre super friendly, knowledgeable, have more in stock than any other pro audio store Ive ever been to, and on the one occasion I recall where they didnt have an outdated piece of gear that I needed because Im classic like that, they ordered it and got it asap. They have a website as well, which is typically how I shop from them now, considering its usually easier for me personally, but if youre in the neighborhood its definitely worth a stop in

I like World of Stereo. I grew up in New York in the 80s and this is exactly how we used to do it. Everyone I know gets all their gear there, us included. If youre buying DJ equipment, why on earth would you do it any other way?

I spent 2 hours in the store, trying to chose a microphone and non of them was working. They suppose to bring a new one next day. So I called them and one of the sellers refused to check out if it works before Ill come to their store again. They absolutely dont care if their equipment works and what is client needs.

These guys are knowledgeable and helped me pick out the mic and audio interface I needed quickly and without any BS. I was looking to purchase an OP 1 portable synthesizer. The guy kind of brushed me off, like I wasnt a serious customer. So, I purchased one elsewhere.

Basically a music gear pawnshop in a terrible neighborhood, but its hard to do better than their selection in downtown San Francisco. I suppose I love the character of this spot and am willing to overlook its defects because its so unique.Anyway, the staff is relatively knowledgeable and they stock lots of great gear. Its a fantastic place to trade stuff for those who know how to haggle and what they want, or terrible place to shop for the uninitiated. The warehouse-style front doors are always open to Market Street, so you may be accosted by crackheads during your visit, but its usually worth the hassle. Probably a great place to rent PA gear as they have a ton of old high-quality backline amps. A sleazy DJ equipment store in the grand traditional style.

Some stuffs expensive but other stuff is really quality and great prices.

Even better than the selection is the fun game of Dont get robbed on the way home that you get to play for free!

Muklas and Louie are them man!Every time I go in there they treat me right. Going out of the way to show me how something works, etc. They even fixed a dimmer pak we had for FREE!! You cant beat that!We mostly buy DJ stuff and lights from them. I see they have power amps and other things, but we havent needed them. Wish they had TVs!!Unlike some of the other reviews, I wish to convey how thankful I am for their support every time we go in.

So happy to have a great store so close to me. These guys helped me pick an AMAZING large bluetooth portable speaker with wheels about a year and a half ago. This thing has unbelievable sound and has traveled the world with me to many festivals, outings, etc. Sadly my roommates charged it the wrong way and it eventually killed the battery. I was so sad. But Josh was very helpful when I contacted him about the issue. They quickly put in a order to the manufacturer and within the week I had a brand new battery that is EVEN better than the original for super cheap! They even helped install it when I came into the store. This store (and Josh) get an A+ from me for great customer service. And if your wondering what the speaker was, its a Behringer MPA-40-Pro. They had it listed for cheaper than online sales which was also a + in my book.

I bought a Zed-12Fx mixer and Livid OhmRGB from World of Stereo, and I couldnt be happier with the experience. I had previously purchased an APC40 (v1) from Guitar Centers online store, but it arrived damaged and missing a power cable - they had sold me a floor model without disclosing what it was or the damage, and were only willing to knock off a minimal percentage off the price (I think around 10%) when I brought it back and pointed this out. So I said forget it and just returned the APC40 and looked for an alternative. I found the Livid OhmRGB at WoS, the last one I could find on the internet. I called up WoS (Im on the Eastern US coast) and got ahold of Josh, who was btw off the clock when I got ahold of him. I explained my situation and what I was looking for, and he went in to the store and checked out the equipment for me and answered all my questions over the phone, then helped get it packed up and shipped out that day. We also tried shipping USPS (not their normal carrier) per my request, and he stayed in contact with me through the entire process - even helping get a refund on our shipping costs because USPS did not meet their guaranteed delivery time. Their customer service is beyond top-notch. I highly recommend buying your gear from World of Stereo and supporting their business and the people who work there!!

The staff was friendly, but really not knowledgeable. They have no idea what wires you might need to make the equipment work, so you have to get in with this knowledge and control them at every step. They turned my experience into a nightmare once I realized (already at the venue) that the key wire was missing. While still at the store, I had to ask for the wire (they wouldnt proactively propose anything), it was there on the table, I signed the inventory slip, however they forgot to put it into the bag at the last moment. The key moment of the evening was ruined thanks to last 5 seconds of their forgetful service. Not to mention, expensive piece of equipment was rented out to me in a double bag, without a case. Once I was back, it was impossible to prove anything, this is when it became clear the place is super dodgy. I would certainly choose a different provider next time.
