Like all the reviews mentioned, this store is flute heaven. Lindsay was so patient with me and spent an afternoon helping me test out beginner flutes, and even giving me some tips to make me play better. There really is no better flute (or any other instrument) purchasing experience than this. I highly recommend the store and the shopping experience!

If you are looking for a flute, whether beginner or professional, this is pretty much the ONLY place you should be going to. Their services is top notch and their selection is probably the most extensive on the West Coast. I came into the shop thinking I wanted a certain flute. After trying dozens of flutes, I ended up with a flute that I never would have thought I would even consider. I ended up getting a Powell flute and I am in love with it!The thing that makes this place the BEST is Lindsay. Not only is she full of advice, full of wisdom, full of knowledge, she also happens to be the most patient person I know. I know that I tested her patience because I was sure I had found my flute on at least 3 different occasions only to change my mind again and again spanning over a 2-month period. But she stuck with me and eventually she helped me get there. She is also a flute teacher and you can tell because she had a lot of great tips and pointers as I was trying the flutes. Shes literally what made this experience a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

I bought a flute of my dream at the Flute World San Francisco. We scheduled time ahead with very nice, knowledgeable person Lindsay who prepared for me to try out so many different types of beautiful flutes. Lindsay patiently helped me made the right choice with the best sound, right shape of blowhole of the flute for my lips.I think it is very important to have a knowledgeable, patient, honest sales executive person as Lindsay, especially when you buy something very expensive, professional. 👍

I went to Flute World San Francisco to test out and buy a new flute and I had a wonderful experience. When I arrived there were seven trial flutes set up and ready for me to try. Lindsey, the sale executive, was efficient, knowledgeable, and very easy to talk to about what I wanted out of my flute. She did not hesitate to spend the time I needed testing and comparing the flutes that she had set out for me making sure I got a flute that was right for me. The flute I purchased has been serving me quite well and I am incredibly glad that I decided to go to Flute World and peruse their selection. Overall I had a wonderful experience and I would not hesitate to return to Flute World for any of my flute needs.

Was finally able to take my first trip to Flute World recently and I was not let down. There were so many different types of beautiful flutes to try out. Some Id been wanting to get my hands on for years to see how they felt and played.Lindsay was super helpful and even helped me try out some new piccolo headjoints and changed some of my biases I had formed from word of mouth (thank you). The building itself is a little smaller than I was anticipating, but dont be fooled, theres so much to look that you can easily lose track of time. I cant wait to go back ^_^

If you live anywhere within 500 miles of San Francisco and you feel the need for a new flute, it is impossible to imagine a better place to head than Flute World SF. The care and expert assistance on offer from Lindsay at that store is simply nonpareil. I should add that my journey to the instrument that I ultimately purchased began with JL Smith (Flute World’s parent company) via home trials. My experience there (with Becca) was equally wonderful. But it took the greater flexibility of in-store trials with Lindsay (alongside my wife) as expert critic, coupled with Flute World’s access to an astonishing range of instruments for me to find THE instrument, or rather, for THE instrument to find me. That transcendentally wonderful instrument brings new rewards with ever new day of music making.

We went to pick out flutes today and Lindsay Fyffe was super helpful and patient with us, answering every question we have. Because she is a flutist herself, she even played the scales for us. We tested at least 7 flutes and spent almost 2 hours there and she gave us her full attention the entire time!

Unbelievable experience at Flute world! I walked in without an appointment and was greeted by Lindsay. She is amazing! She was unbelievably attentive and worked with me to understand the differences between a variety of flutes - the material (i.e. gold vs silver, headjoints), the inline vs offset G, and much more. I highly appreciated that Lindsay was so helpful in educating me and working with me to understand what was best for me; she is clearly passionate about helping each customer find the perfect fit!Beyond Lindsay, the store itself is wonderful - everything is clean, the decor is nice, the variety in products is amazing, it has a wonderful calm ambiance, and of course the flute selection is great! Would recommend to anyone and Ill definitely be back soon!

A must-go place for flute and flute music lovers. The stores interior design is beautiful and very relaxing. They have a huge selection of instruments. I had an in-store flute trial appointment. Lindsay spent a lot of time working with me trying and blind-testing different flute and headjoint combinations. She was kind and super helpful. I was able to find the flute that really speaks to me. Lindsay is also a great flute player! For anything to do with flute or flute music, I will recommend Fluteworld San Francisco without any hesitation.

I am so excited that the flute world is here in SF! I went to flute world SF a few or so weeks ago to get my flute repaired and check out new flutes (really wanting to get a new one!). I was a bit nervous but Lindsey and Sarah were so kind and helpful. I was able to relax and really try out flutes. They set up I think 10 flutes and I tried different head joints and we narrowed it down to 3 in the end. I also wanted to blind test so I had no bias on which flute to get. I had been watching so many videos on flutes I was sure I would get a certain brand. In the end I got a Muramatsu ex! Not the brand I thought. If you are looking for a new flute you have to go here. Lindsey is the best and will really help you pick the best flute for you. I love my flute can’t wait to play and practice. I feel like I can really go far with this flute. I hugged both ladies when I left it was the best experience.Side note went back to get a thumb port & Lindsey was there. We talked for a while and she even gave me a tip on intonation. They will be having master classes which I’ll be attending! Honestly I would go all the time and just chat if I lived in sf. Live in Concord. Oh and the store if beautiful. Please go!

Lindsay was great, very helpful, and it was very low key and relaxed. They had some of the things I was looking for, but you can call ahead to order things or make sure they have it.

Dropped by Flute World while on vacation in SFO. Lindsay was really kind to let me try out several American-made flutes, headjoints and piccolo and also some insight on the different specifications and characteristics of the various brands.
