My partner and I happened upon this shop while I was urgently looking for a bathroom (I have a medical condition). I am a lifelong crafter who focuses on textiles and embroidery, so I was excited to unexpectedly find this place. The shop window had a sign that said Bathrooms for customers only, so I figured Id be able to browse the shop after using the bathroom, with the final intention of buying something there. However, the older white lady shop representative who greeted us immediately became rude to us when I asked to use the bathroom before shopping there. She insisted the bathroom was not a public restroom, and shooed us out despite me trying to explain that I was an embroiderer. There is no other reason why I would be denied use of the restroom other than this lady being racist and homophobic. Shame on this establishment for promoting racism and homophobia, and ableist as well by not allowing a potential customer to use their restroom.

Friendly and helpful staff, huge selection of canvases and threads. They carry their house sick in every color imaginable. No cotton perles stocked.

This shop is a needlepointer’s dream. The selection of hand-painted canvases is by far the most extensive of any shop that I have been to (and I have been to a lot of shops). There is something for everyone. The staff is attentive and will teach a novice how to stitch or help the advanced stitcher find new stitches. And the finishing is the most creative in the business.

Staff is not very engaged. Store has a good selection of canvasses and thread, but it is on the speedy side.

Very poor service, you can tell it is owned by an unhappy old man that answered the phone.I was right On the street and called to see where it was from me I had 15 minutes before it closed,he answered the phone and I asked where he was located and he said we are closed NOW.I had 15 min before it closed but he said there is no one here, I said ok then who are you that answered the phone,he did not say anything and hung up on me .I will tell All my friends not to wast their time to come to this store .when I saw the store there were 5 ladies outside,so I guess they don’t need the money and it is just a hobbie for him.DON’T WAST YOUR TIME GOING TO THIS STORE!LOOKED IN WINDOW AND ALL THEY HAD WAS OLD CANVASES ON THE TABLE, LOOKED LIKE OLD YARD SALE JUNK...

Some needlepoint shops have so little to choose from you leave empty-handed and disappointed. And then there is Needlepoint Inc. They actually keep too much inventory in my opinion, even for those of us who love nothing more than browsing until we find something inspirational. It seems they never get rid of anything...some canvases are so old they are actually discolored. You have to look through huge stacks everywhere (some of the larger canvases are piled up and the stack is heavy!). All that would be OK and even perhaps somewhat fun if you have the time...however, there is nowhere to sit comfortably while browsing through such big stacks. They do have some really gorgeous canvases, especially in the super pricey (i.e., over $500), and there is more than enough variety for most people to find something I guess, but having been there a few times over the years I always walk away disappointed and sadly, havent enjoyed the experience on any of my visits. Its unfortunate since there are only 2 needlepoint stores in the city. We need more needlepoint shops in the bay area!
