GIC has been my go to place for all vehicle services ever since I moved to the Bay area. They provide comprehensive maintenance care plan for cars. If you are moving from other states, their price may not look the cheapest, but it seems pretty nominal for the Bay area. However, their work quality is great, and the most satisfying part is that they offer a 3-year warranty on all their services which they diligently follow. Two instances particularly stood out for me: Once, they didnt charge me for a minor repair on a part that was covered under their 3-year warranty, and the other time, when I had a loud noise coming from my car, they gave me an immediate appointment, worked on my car and fixed the issue in less than 2 hours! Kudos to Helen, Alan and the rest of the GIC team!

Helen and Alan provide A++ customer service. It was my third time going into the shop since I thought something was wrong with my brakes. Helen was so kind and thorough and assured me that she would fix the problem. I also needed to do some maintenance and change my tires. With all the services I needed along with checking my brakes, Helen was able to arrive my car at a reasonable cost and in a timely manner. I also was unable to go to the shop to pick up my car and Helen was kind enough to drive my car over to my house. So grateful that Helen and Alan go above and beyond. James was also helpful too when I had technical questions about my car. I look forward to continuing a relationship with them. They are THE BEST.

GIC is a fantastic local auto repair / service shop that offers very competitive pricing and services, often times cheaper than the large chain shops in the area. I have gone to a few shops to compare prices and have decided that GIC is not only one of the most affordable, but that their customer service and attention to detail is unparalleled. They pride themselves in transparency, and I feel confident going to GIC for all of my auto needs.

GIC really takes care of your vehicle! I went in for my 40k maintenance which included and oil change and brake check. They thoroughly inspected my car all around and printed a list (with prices!!!) of recommended services. The pages also had photos of what they were referencing, and Alan spent a lot of time going over everything to make sure we understood WHY things needed to be done, and also what can wait a bit. He is also very reassuring that they love nothing more than to take care of the vehicle and prevent large-cost issues in the future. My family has been going to GIC for a long time now and they are the best in town!

I appreciated how detailed they were with the inspection and results of looking at my concerns with my vehicle. I received a report on their recommendations and findings, helping me understand the problems, breakdown of cost and what is recommended versus what should be fixed as soon as possible. Then the extras, they were so welcoming and made me feel like we were a family. They even had my name on a board welcoming me on my 1st visit with them. The little things make big impacts!

One of their workers, the staff, was quite kind and accommodating. I did not make a mistake in selecting this location. Now my automobile is fantastic!

Dont fall for their B.G. service (Bs gimmick), dont think youre getting just a simple oil change, they are way too aggressive and pushy on selling you something you dont want or really need. Customers shouldnt have to say no 10 times to decline extra upsell. Their so call free checks is not free.

What can I say but wow.I’ll be completely honest and I’ll say that I went in with my 2005 BMW 330i thinking that I’m going to be greeted to a generic mechanic’s shop where they would just want my money and move on, but how I was so wrong.As soon as I walked in I was greeted nicely and was asked thorough questions about my visit and car. Alan, the owner, took notes of everything I said and even recommended that I do an annual comprehensive inspection based off of what I mentioned, and I’m glad I took his recommendation.During the inspection and maintenance of my car, Millis, the service advisor, called to inform me about the Technician’s work and asked for my approval on other services based on what they found. Millis was not pushy at all and extremely understandable when I had to decline some of the more expensive repairs but still gave me a quote for the services just in case.To wrap it all up, when I went to go pick up my car the next day Helen, the very nice lady in the front desk gave me a full report on my car, the services done to it, and a list of service recommendations. Everything was done professionally and with great hospitality that took away my nerves of going to a mechanic and being told bad news constantly.I’ll definitely be returning here and may even be my go to spot now because of the fair prices, hospitality, and professionalism. *HIGHLY RECOMMENDED SHOP AND NOW LIFELONG CUSTOMER*I recently purchased a 2004 S2000. After 3 weeks, I experienced a knocking noise coming from my engine. I took it to another shop in SJ which claimed I needed to rebuild or replace my engine which was estimated to be ~$7-8K with ~4 weeks of downtime. After speaking with their owner it was clear they didnt perform any investigation.I decided to move my car to GIC Car Clinic for a second opinion - BEST DECISION EVER!Alans team and Helen are AMAZING. They diagnosed initial problems related to engine misfiring and confirmed it was because of my coil packs and spark plugs. In turn, this engine misfiring was causing exacerbated knocking noise coming from my loose material in my catalytic converter. They advised a methodical, step-by-step process on how we should address the repairs that would minimize the cost/time required to get my car back up and running. Throughout the process, they constantly kept me posted on repairs and sent additional information on the issue so I could stay informed. In the end, I spent 70% less money and my car was up and running in less than 1 week. They even called a few days later to make sure everything was working and my expectations were met - EXPECTATIONS EXCEEDED ON ALL FRONTS!I cant speak highly enough about Alan, Helen, and their team. THEYRE AMAZING. Ive since recommended GIC Car Clinic to all of my friends and family.

I really appreciate the thorough quality work Alan and his team do at GIC. I had brought my car in for a power steering issue but wanted to know what other issue may come up since the car was over 15 years old. Upon a full analysis they found other potential issues and we worked on a repair plan that would get the best value to keep the car running strong for many years to come. It’s great that Alan approached the problem in a very methodical way to replace parts when everything was disassembled so we wouldn’t need to get back in there at a later point when it would fail. I also appreciated that he liked to keep me very informed about the whole process and showed me exactly what he was seeing during the analysis. Unfortunately I had a faulty serpentine belt that was replaced. Fortunately they stand by their work though and covered the replacement. Helen was very thorough with following up with me and made sure that I was taken care of at all times. All round a good quality and honest shop.

Were able to vacuum out the R12 in my cars A/C system as well as give me a quote on how much it would cost to update the system to R134A. Everyone there was very friendly and helpful and the service was great.

They were fast and efficient and way cheaper than any other businesses in the area. They are a family run business and thats what I love most about GIC Car Clinic. They took care of me and stayed in touch to remind me for upcoming maintanences for my car. They never pressured me to get anything done. They assessed my car and literally educated me on the importance of each car function and told me the average time they should have maintanence and thats it. Did not pressure me and gave me competitive quotes for each repair.Theyre an honest business and are a great addition to the community. I will continue using their services, and my car thanks you!

Took my Chevy Venture 2002 in for engine light diagnosis. They were all very friendly and courteous and covid cautious. I was looking for a shop that was knowledgeable of older American cars and I finally found them. Dan kept me undated several times on parts, costs, and completion date. They returned my old parts without asking them to do so which I appreciated. The costs were very reasonable and was completed in 2 days. They also squeezed me in on a separate occasion to fix my windshield wipers that didnt work while I waited. Dan and the mechanics were wonderful to deal with and I absolutely recommend them.

I found them to be genuinely kind people that clearly care about their clients/business. On top of all of this, Dan gave me great advise and told me to go to the dealership for my leaking battery issue, saying it should be under warranty. But I was in need of some maintenance, and Id been getting postcards in the mail from GIC Car Clinic and something about the way they presented themselves made me comfortable.I called to schedule and appointment and Jessica was very friendly and accommodating. When I brought my car in I was impressed by how clean everything looked- I know its not a restaurant or kitchen- but it showed they take pride in their work. They are extra thorough here and extremely patient with my concerns.Ive been coming here for the last year since I was having a tough time finding a reliable place for an oil change that carried filters for my Jetta. The staff is always careful to go over every little detail with me. Almost to the point where i think they are trying to find something wrong with my car but, they do such a good that there is nothing wrong with my car.

My Tesla had a slow leak in 1 tire. Since the Tesla service location is inconvenient, I tried GIC since it is near my home. From the minute I walked up to the office I could tell this wasnt a typical auto repair center. It is clean, the air is filtered and the women working the counter are knowledgeable and efficient. They ordered the special tire used on Telsa cars. The service technician determined the slow leak was due to a puncture on the side of the tire, so they swapped the tire. The work was done quickly, properly and they even vacuumed my front floor mats when they finished. I will use GIC for all future automobile maintenance and you should too!

GIC Clinic provided excellent service. The staffs were very welcoming and attentive. I came for an oil change and they got the service done quickly. I made an appointment ahead of time and also got a friendly reminder the day before my appointment. When my car was ready for pick up early, they called. Everything went very smoothly. I was served by the staff and owners. They were friendly, forthright, detailed, and honest. Covid health precautions were taken. The parking was good, too. Best of all, my car got fixed! The coolant system now works great, as far as I can tell. The air is ice cold again and the engine isnt overheating. They also flushed the coolant system. They dont allow bring-your-own replacement parts/oils/coolant, but they do offer a warranty on the mechanical items and their labor for it if it malfunctions.I do trust this place, that theyll do a great job without unnecessary haggling or problems or backwoods parts. Its a clean shop and visually organized; for an auto repair place, that says a lot. Their couches are covered, but look cool to use after health regulations end. They also have a water receptacle that is available for use. GIC looks to an outsider (like me) to be a well-oiled machine.About the price altogether? Im a new plant, so its unknown how much it compares to other local shops at this point. I will say that I appreciated the time and patience they took to explain the charges. We normally like to understand where the money goes since we arent mechanics.A word of caution is mosquitos; although, that may have changed. I had some mousse with nectar and stuff and got bit up. Wear your bug spray or have a spare car/ride. I wore bug spray and different hair products and it did work.To conclude, I plan to go back for more repairs. I highly recommend them. Ill update this review afterwards.

Took our 1957 Chevy Cameo Corvette Truck in to have the AC charged. The person who answered the phone and made the appointment was happy and very professional. The mechanic who is also one of the owners did an excellent job. There were issues with the system because it was a custom install and had some electrical issues but the mechanic bypassed the problem and charged the AC anyway. I Came back to GIC after noticing one of my smaller front parking lights was out. I was given a quote of around $30 for the light replacement + labor. After quickly looking into the issue as a walk in, it turned out the light in question was disconnected and was still functional after all. In the end they did not charge me for this service and I was pretty stoked about that! Long story short. They could have very easily fixed the issue at hand & still charged me for their time & labor; And did NOT. I recently bought a 97 Subaru Outback Legacy and brought it to GIC Car Clinic, I was aware of how much work needed to be done since the previous owner didn’t take great care of it. I spoke with Alan and he went over everything and we decided on some major issues that the car needed. I appreciate the fact he wasn’t pushing for me to do anything right away, he only suggested an oil change for now, but I went ahead and agreed to a lot of work, he called me on updates to the car. He and his team took great care of my car, it is old but it’s my hard earn dollar that goes into it, I can really tell he cares about getting you the quality service you and your car deserves. Thank you Alan and I will be back for the remainder of the repairs.

Brought my car in for a check engine light. The service manager Derek was very professional and accommodating. I was serviced the same day, with the reassurance that if the light came back again that I could bring it back. Which it did and I was able to bring it back for further inspection. I appreciate that they have a monitor that shows you the work being done, and detailed explanation of what they are doing. Very honest, and trustworthy people.

Alan was great! Was referred to by 4 Wheel Parts in San Jose, CA and GIC did not disappoint. Car rides like new and time to head up to Tahoe and really test it on a long drive. Will take my car back again!

An absolutely delightful experience. These folks are about 3 blocks from our home but we didnt know they existed until we received a direct mail ad. Their operation is exceptionally clean and tidy. Not your typical car repair facility. Checking in was painless. When we picked up our cars, they actually walked us to our cars and opened to doors. Extremely courteous people, Oh, and the oil change was cost competitive with everyplace else, So great price and great service. And, I actually received a follow up text about a week later asking if everything was satisfactory. That has never happened to me for an oil change.

Alan at GIC was very awesome and got me in when I was desperate to figure out what was going on with my car. He was very knowledgeable of my Audi and quoted me a significantly better price than Audi. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

With one A/C repair and one oil change, my experience has been superb. The A/C work was a repair and not a replace (which other shops recommended at astronomical cost) and their interface is like family. The work area is clean (for a shop) and the coffee is as good as the cookies.

I didn’t know what to expect when I came into GIC shop. My car car has either been to Honda or wheel works. I revived a friendly reminder call the day before my appointment from Helen, which I was so grateful for! It seems like these days are just all blurring together. I took advantage of the free oil change they had to offer for health care workers.I was greeted by Jessica who was very pleasant welcomed me in and made me feel very comfortable and at ease! Every time I go into a shop I always get nervous about what the cost could be, them trying to up sell me etc. she took my information down walked with me to my car got the information she needed and we walked back into the office.She asks what my plans were with my car, and I told her I was not sure yet, I have some issues that may not be worth forking money into. It was wonderful that there was a complimentary diagnostic maintenance report that would be shown to me later in the day! A few hours i came back my oil change was complete and even replaced the tire I was in such need of! Jessica showed me the report and walked it through with me, now Honda has this same kind of report, so I knew what it would be, but NO this report had pictures!! Which I LOVED! It also gave three categories ok, a should do soon and a must do now. I always feel like Honda says you need this or that done but can’t be told the reason why it needs to be done, because at dealerships they always want you to sell back and buy new.Jessica was able to explain what the ones I didn’t understand was and even broke down what was the most important of my must do’s! She said at their shop they believe in preventive care for your! I was given the car estaminet and I would normally flinch at the costs but I was actually ok, I think because of the way things were handled I felt like I not just being tricked I had the evidence of everything that was in need of being fixed.I would recommend this shop! Friendly and knowledgeable in car services!

I heard about GIC Car Clinic from a mailer I received with a promotion for a $34.77 oil change. From the very first phone call, Helen, Alan, and Jessica of GIC Car Clinic exceeded my expectations! They were all very pleasant and easy to work with, very friendly and knowledgeable, they quoted honest prices, and ensured my car would be well-inspected by their master mechanics.After the initial inspection, Jessica emailed & texted me a comprehensive inspection report, showing exactly what needed to be fixed/replaced immediately, what I could wait on a little bit if I wasnt ready or able to fix it yet, and everything that was in great condition with my car & didnt have to worry about. The report even included images for the items that needed to be fixed immediately so I could visually see what was wrong.I gave them a call to discuss everything, at which point Jessica let me know that my oil drain cap was incorrectly replaced by a previous mechanic, causing it to be damaged, but they took care of it and replaced it for me at no charge. A+ customer service!!!When I went to pick up my car, Helen assisted me and walked me through everything they did. She printed out the inspection report and the invoice for services and made sure everything was clear and correct before proceeding with payment.And, because were currently living in a covid-19 world, I will mention that everything was disinfected before handing it over to me, there were multiple hand sanitizers available, masks were worn & plexiglass was hung up to ensure health & safety. All protocols were followed.Bottom line: Truly honest work that was clearly high-quality! Its easy to tell that this family business truly cares about its customers at every step of the process and wants to provide the best service possible. I LOVE GIC Car Clinic and let me tell you why! Their knowledge of my car, they take pictures of your car, old parts and new parts and save them, so the next time you return to get your oil changed, or regular maintenance or any repair, they will have the picture from your previous visit and the resolution is so clear that you can see exactly what they are talking about. I was so worried about this noise in my car and felt like it was unstable... I was not sure if my new tires were not put on correctly or if it was the power steering..... it was neither of those, it was the cross arm? And it was under warranty! The lobby is WiFi User friendly and there are outlets in case you need to charge your telephone or computer. I come here for regular oil changes and they have great customer service. Fair prices. Child friendly lobby that provides toys/flash cards to entertain the little ones is a plus 👍

Alan and Helen and the staff at GIC Car Clinic are terrific! In keeping with my own philosophy, they believe in small fixes and preventative maintenance. Alan is very skilled at explaining problems using vocabulary that a non-mechanic can understand. I am extremely pleased with the care and service I experienced at GIC.

Great service from start to finish! I only got an oil change and Ill be coming back to get my air filter replaced. I really liked how they went over other things that needed some attention without any additional charge (i.e. tires, leaks, etc.). Reasonable price for the quality of service.

Owner of this business is VERY rude and unprofessional.I have done business all over the Bay Area with many mechanics. CIG has the absolute worst business practices and communication.The owner specifically. Her poor leadership does NOT put customer satisfaction first.You are better off not doing business here at all.

Being only a part time employee I usually dont take my car to a shop for repairs, due to the fact that I just cant afford to. But now I was blessed with being able to purchase a car that I really like and enjoy driving. So when the time came that it needed servicing I decided to have it professionally done. While doing my research on finding the right shop that wasnt too far from where I live I noticed the name of one constantly would show up for all types of automotive care, so I began to read some of the reviews about them and their customers seemed very pleased with the level of service they had received. I said to myself this must be the one. And boy was I right. They took their time and checked my car out and informed of the problem in a language that I could understand. Then they literally took me out to meet the mechanic that would be doing the work on my car. Then showed me what was wrong and explained the solution. I was very comfortable with the way they didnt try to push me into anything that I knew I couldnt afford and I really appreciate that. Through, Professional and Affordable.

Great service would definitely recommend. They offer loner cars and can drop you off and pick you up. Workers are all so friendly including the owners and Derek. They go above and beyond to make sure you are satisfied. Will definitely go back!

This Shop did a serious repair on my engine and transmission. I had severe leaks and they replaced 3 gaskets. I brought my truck in that morning, they had it ready at the end of the day. They are friendly and informative! I talked to the man that repaired my truck he showed me everything that was done before and after. If I have any problems I’ll use GIC again!Thanks

I brought my 2012 Dodge Avenger for transmission service. Their customer service is excellent and meanwhile they offer a reasonable price. Their mechanics are so professional that they performed a complete inspection and also changed my transmission fluid and filter. This is the best place for car maintenance.

I cant thank the guys at GIC car clinic enough, for the past 6 months Ive been having issues starting my car and Ive been losing sleep over it stressing over it not knowing what to do, its my only means of transportation. I ran into Allan and I explained the situation to him and he suggested to bring my car in to the shop and Derek would take care of me. Allan was right, Derek took care of me and kept in contact with me with the entire process letting me know the entire status of my car. Derek treated me like his Best friend and I just met him.And the technicians cared for my vehicle like it was their own car. When I thought I thought it was a starter issue, the technicians showed me it wasnt and after further testing and perseverance from the technicians they figured out what was wrong with my car repaired it with ninja like precision and quickness. They saved me from spending a lot of money on a starter I wouldnt have need. THANK YOU GUYS for taking care of me and giving me peace of mind. If anyone wants their car repaired up right. Im from out of the area and was in town buying a used truck. I needed to have the truck inspected before I bought it. So I googled and made a few calls. This shop was the most kind and responsive. They worked with my schedule and got me in as soon as possible. They were very professional and told me everything I needed to know about the condition of the truck. The service that this staff provides is beyond anything I ever thought possible from an automotive company. Not once but twice they have gone far out of their way to help me with an odd and difficult car situation.They are friendly, timely, communicative, and have never been pushy about getting work done. They give you a full overview about the state of your vehicle through a third party website, and will explain in simple terms when theres an urgent issue.There is a book called Setting the Table by Danny Meyer, which literally laid out the handbook for exceptional service in the restaurant/hospitality industry. If they ever get ambitious (or have any free time), Alan, Derek, Helen and the rest of the staff might very well end up writing a similar standard for defining customer service in auto repair.

These people know how to run a car repair shop. They confirmed my suspicion of an oil pan gasket leak. They use technology tools to show you problem areas which help in understanding the problem. I was thinking they have so many good review so I will get my pre purchase inspection here I make appointment for 11am got here on time the guy was super nice and said we will start work on the car right away I give him the key and I leave they said it’s should take about 2hr I came back in 1:30pm it’s already 2:30hr I walk in ready to get my report guess what NO ONE EVEN TOUCH THE CARI was in shock I make appointment came on time you told me 2 hr I waist 2:30hr I came back and no one even touch the car that’s super bad customer service never had any experience I understand delays but no one even touch it the car is there for over 2hr how you can waist people time like thatFor sure I will never come here again and if you thinking about bringing the car her for service make sure they don’t forgot about you

Great customer service! First time I contacted them, they actually politely refused my business because I didnt need an oil change yet. I really appreciated the honesty and came back a few months later for them to perform the service on my 2013 Civic. Friendly, professional, and courteous auto repair shop! Their appointment reminder and maintenance reminder emails are helpful as well!

Had an oil change done. The lobby is very family friendly. Lots of toys and puzzles for kiddos to play with. The managers and employees were courteous and helpful. Would go back again.

The paperless job report and vehicle evaluation were absolutely top notch; photos, notes, & discussion at time of pickup. Only reason for 4 stars is because I was told the water reservoir tank had been filled because it was below the add line and it was not. I will return to have future work done on my 97 Grand Cherokee Laredo.

My car got broken into and in the process the ignition cylinder got destroyed. I took it to these folks and from the start to the end, they were nothing but nice. Its a family run business and Allan and his wife were so hospitable. They were also nice enough to keep me posted on the day-to-day progress on it, which I found very helpful. Got my truck back in under two days. All in all, a great place to take your four wheelers to get fixed.

The staff here is super nice and friendly. The work they did is super thorough and well done. The only thing I would say is that for bigger jobs it could take some time. The time extinates were a little off, but they did a great job and the car almost feels like new. Would highly recommend them.
