One day last week I was out running errands when my rear drivers side window decided to open and stick in the down position. It refused to go back up to close, so I made a stop at the Midas shop on Monterey Highway that Ive used for years.They diagnosed the problem quickly, called their supplier to see if the part was available, and told me they what time they expected it, and sure enough, I went back in a couple of hours and they were waiting for me with the new part. It only took about 45 minutes to swap the part, test it out, and I was on my way! What a relief!!!Ive been using this shop for years, and have never been disappointed. I can honestly recommend this shop, as they are knowledgeable, very good mechanics, and the office staff is great to work with. ***** I give them 5 stars on this one!

Nobody touches my Toyota Camry Hybrid SE except Midas at this Monterey Hwy, San Jose location. Am an full time rideshare driver and have to maintain my car at tip-top condition mechanically. I brought my car in around 1:00 with a suspected bad alternator. They were able to diagnose it within the hour and replace it for pick up in a couple of hours. Along the way they noticed my tires were very worn and replaced those as well with an alignment. Service was prompt and courteous.
I love coming to Midas, quick quality service, clean and neat with a good value. My second time using their business was today. The men working behind the counter and technician are good honest working men who deserve better working conditions, with air especially on these hot days. I appreciate all the hard work. So grateful to have somewhere to do where I can trust.
Been going here for the past 3 years. Great service and great staff. They are quick during the service. Sometimes it can be busy in the late morning-early afternoon. I typically go early morning. It is also open on Saturdays. Closed on Sunday

I have a coupon and he dont want to honor it. He wants to charge me more for 2qrts that I can bring or I told him I would put myself. He said no. Plus it comes with oil filter and he wants to charge me extra for oil filter special kind. I been going to them for almost 2yrs. The guy must be hurting now that he wants to charge me $100 for oil change.
The employees here are very honest and professional. The other day I took in my 2020 Tundra with a nonfunctional steering pump and they checked it out. They got back to me giving me two options, Either they fix or I could take it back to my dealership and see if I could get it fixed for free under their warranty. I took it back to my dealership and was able to get it fixed for free! This goes to show how honest and helpful they are and I am very grateful for that! I take my work vehicle for services here often if I have never had any problems at all! Very professional, Clean waiting area environment with air and tv and a very welcoming atmosphere.Thanks Midas!

They are clear about the services needed and the price is within reason ( like they are giving me a friends and family discount). They know me! They are great with texting or calling when the car is done. One time, they were nice enough to drop me off at my home.

Friendly helpful staff. Honest, they don’t try to rip you off or overcharge. Store manager Jose is the greatest and always takes care of my car’s needs and his rates are fair. He and his staff are top notch. I have never once had a bad experience there.
Had a simple oil change done as well as tire rotation and valve stems replaced. All was good until I drove 210 miles in my car and engine light went on and VSC code. The housing cover of the air filter was not placed back correctly nor clamped closed and a vacuum line behind the housing assembly was not attached. I fixed the housing assembly and vacuum line and I unhooked my black battery cable to clear engine light and VSC code.

Their oil change price is good, but change or clean your air filter on your own before you go there(Its pretty easy to do). They charge WAY too much too change it for you. Again, it is SUPER easy to change or clean the air filter by yourself! I cannot stress that enough!
‘‘Tis is my first review ever. I usually just read reviews to use a business. But felt I had to write a review for Midas-speedie at 4224 Monterey Rd in San Jose. Managed by Edgar Diaz. He is the nicest, honest young man I have had the good fortune to meet. Being a woman looking for a good mechanics business for servicing my car was daunting. But lol and behold I found Edgar at Midas. I came in with all kinds of fears about my car expecting I don’t know what. What I got was a young man who looked after me with patience and understanding and my car the same way. Midas can be very proud of the training of this young man. He represents his company so well. And I am the lucky woman who will be recommending this Midas station to one and all and you know Midas will be taking care of my car from now on. Thank you Midas and Mr. Diaz.

I always return to this Midas, as I get good, honest service. Of course no one wants to hear about problems with their vehicle, but they are not the villains; YOU took your car problems to THEM. They are probably also not the cheapest, but I have found them reliable and friendly. They bundled my services so I would get a better deal, and have inspected things in the past no charge.
Got a quote for catalytic converter....way over priced 2100.00 ....got it done for 1250.00 elsewhere....but Thankful for your help
Service was fast but be careful when using coupons or groupon. They will charge a lot more for additional quart of oil and always push you to use premium synthetic oil to charge you more

Worst place ever to take your car they left my car sitting in the air for 4 hours while they fixed 3 other cars and I sat patently waiting for 4 hours strait no one even touched my car you pay for them to do nothing the guy at the front register sat and made dates with the other lady customers that got there car in and out while mine sat in the air and knowone touching it never again will I use Midas worst place in San Jose
Took my truck there for a suspension check, I instinctively told the desk manager to keep my truck locked when they are finished and parked in their parkinglot, he said absolutely, came back hours later to pick the truck up, walked straight to the truck and saw it was unlocked, walked in and said why wasnt the truck locked while it was unattended and parked in their parkinglot, got no response, took my keys and left to fill my tank to discover my gas cap was stolen, went back to their shop to tell them I came with a $40. Gas cap and left without one, they said it was there when they were finished, I asked how did they know??? They were checking my suspension!! if my truck was locked like I asked them to do, the door to the gas tank would be locked. So Im left to buy a new one, and they couldnt even find the issue with my suspension, that took another mechanic 7 mins to find and fix. Sheer in competent.
Horrible service!!!! Went to get an oil change and new windshield wipers i paid for the most expensive wipers. When i was driving to work the next morning it was raining i noticed the wipers were leaving streaks so i checked them they were still the same old ones i had before. I went back very angry i paid for something that they never put on my car. The manager talked to the guy who worked on my car he said the ones i paid for they didnt have anymore and instead of telling me that they just took my money and didnt say anything. The manager gave me a free oil change because of it. When i got the oil change they told me my oil pan was leaking and needed more maintenance on my car i was still under warranty so i took my car to two different places and they showed me my oil pan which was never leaking Midas was just trying to get more money out of me. A couple months later i needed another oil change so i just used the free one they did the oil change never reset it so my oil light kept coming on and again they said that i needed something else done to my car said i needed certain liquids changed because they were almost empty liquids that should be filled during an oil change but they were gonna charge me $90. I took my car to get a second opinion and they showed me those particular liquids which were all full. So again they tried to get over to get some more money. I will NEVER GO HERE AGAIN. They are not honest and they lie about everything just to get your money.

I needed an oil change so I searched on Groupon for shops in San Jose that were providing a coupon and found this Midas location. It seemed to be a pretty good deal ($30 for a synthetic blend oil change) so I went ahead and bought it. I called for an appointment and they could give me one only in the middle of the day (no early morning and weekend appointments available, so keep that in mind if you plan to use the Groupon).Anyway, as I was free I landed up there at the designated time of 2 pm. The good news is that they honored the time and immediately went to work on my car. I was told it would take 1 hour but in under 30 minutes I was on my way after paying a small oil disposal fee.On the drive home, I could get the strong smell of oil in the car, so I popped the hood to check why and saw that they had spilled oil all over the engine cover. I mean how do you do that. I saw them using a funnel to pour the oil so then how in the world do you spill oil all over the engine cover? And even if you spill some oil shouldn’t you wipe it down correctly. Anyway, I did just that and there were no other issues.Overall, I think this was just about fine. It was cheap, but the work done was shoddy. Add to that the availability of only mid-day timeslots for the oil change this is A-OK at best.
Went to get a replacement motor for a window that was stuck in the down position, talked to Andrew on Saturday told me hed order the part and I could get it fixed Monday morning right at opening. Turns out they forgot to order the part and ended up wasting my time. Nice guys but disorganized, try another location.

Very Very Bad Customer service. I got my breaks replaced here 6 months ago, back then the service was good. Looks like the staff changed, I called in recently and inquired if they were free and if I could stop by for an oil change, they said they were open on the schedule I confirm with them I will be there in 15mins. I got there in under 15mins they tell me I have to wait an hour as they are busy, this happened not once but twice in couple weeks. If you can, try another location.
A+ Shop for Service & Customer Treatment. I brought my elderly (ha) vehicle in here last November. They performed brake work on the front and rear brakes. Because my car is older, it had some special issues, thereby necessitating some special care by the mechanics, but that also means it needed knowledgeable mechanics who truly DO understand cars. And, the guys at this shop do! From the front counter to the ones in the actual shop, they know their stuff.I described the noises and issues and they handled every issue professionally. Then, one year later I had a similar issue, due to no fault of theirs, but again to the age of the vehicle, and I took it to a Midas in another city because Id moved out of the San Jose area. BIG mistake. Not all Midas shops are rated equally, despite their star ratings. New shop has 3.5 stars but their guys told me they had no idea what was causing my sounds, and that my brakes were wearing unevenly and that they needed to be adjusted and cleaned, even though there was nothing wrong with them. So although pads were under warranty, they charged $72.00 labour to clean them up. I picked it up & still heard one of the 2 noises. So disappointed.I called THIS San Jose Midas immediately & made an appointment for the following weekend and then drove down for it. They did an oil change for me, even though I forgot to pre-schedule that when I called, AND explained all the brake issues, and included an inspection sheet detailing everything they had checked, including measurments of the brakes. They did the latter for FREE! As a courtesy. The other shop gave me a one-liner receipt: brakes cleaned and adjusted. Im not even sure it says REAR brakes. Vehicle reoair documentation on an aging vehicle is valuable so its important to be thorough.Im more than half tempted to contact the other Midas and make them send my $72 to this shop for their extra mile efforts! I trust this place. Go here. Theyre honest, fast and their work stands for itself! It brought me all the way back.
Went to the place 1st time to try midas called before going ask for a quote, got there quote was not honored. Gave me a much more expensive quote, Jose was the guys name kind of a hustler when talking. Sorry u just lost 1500 worth of my business..wnet to the mechanic next door long super auto tech save me $600.

If i could i would give this place no stars they make their money sand bagging ppl for their money i have Ptsd and its hard to focus my mind so i can be forgetful so i forgot to hang my parking permit in my car after a week of parking in the same spot in my apartments. So the 1st and only night i forgot they took it and then lied about having the car gave me a run around and my lease says nothing about it having to be showing but they made us pay the $300 charged me hella money for a storge fee for atoring my car for one minute my proof is on the paper of how thw car was towed
I have a Mitsubishi Montero Sport 2000. On April 26 I went there for an oil change an a general check, because I had to go to LA the same day. They are all young guys, the guy in charge for that day was Andrew C.I was told to change thermostat even though Ive never had overheating. We argued for a while but I agreed to that because it was the cheapest of all recommended services. I spent almost $300 on these 2 services. I have on paper the other recommended things that I had to, such as pitman arm, idler arm, rods, also break rotors and such. All part of the suspension system, nothing do to with engine. The check page doesnt have any notes either, meaning that everything must be fine. I left the shop and headed straight to LA.. 2-3 hours later car started overheating and smoking, I pulled over right away and opened the hood. The OIL CAP WAS MISSING and the oil was all over. I called them and they didnt deny that they forgot the oil cap, said that they cant help much over the phone, but will REIMBURSE me for all towing and fixing costs. Shortly after I lost service and my battery died, I was stranded in the middle of nowhere, with a damaged car and no phone. I waited for a long time until some guy stopped to help, he checked the oil dipstick (I didnt think of that, because I just had an oil change, duh..) and there was NO OIL on it, not a single drip. He drove another 20 miles to buy me oil, because we though that was the problem and adding oil would fix it. He came back with 2 bottles of oil, I put one of them and tried to start the car, but the smoking started again. So I didnt try again. The guy towed me to the next exit with his AAA plan, just so I can charge my phone and call somebody. I was closer to LA so I had a friend of mine tow me to LA with his AAA premium. A mechanic there looked at the car and said theres a blown head gasket and it will probably need the engine rebuild, which would cost $4000, plus the leaking radiator and all other damages caused by all this. Im not sure if they did the thermostat right either..I called these guys and they laughed at the estimate and said theres no way they are paying that much for an old car. But if I had to pay for it myself in a regular situation, this would be the estimate everywhere, so what difference does it make when its their fault.They said they agree to only put an old engine and fix it to make it running. I agreed to that even though I dont trust them and I also requested a rental to come back to SJ. They AGREED to this twice, just told me to bring the receipts of all towing and rental and they will pay for it. They told me to take the car to another Midas shop in Valencia (SF Valley), I did that and the guy there said he cannot proceed with any repairs, before we come to a conclusion.When I came back I went to the place on Friday (May 6) and they REFUSED to pay or take liability, because the guy explained that head gaskets sometimes take time to blow and that their mistake could not be a reason. As far as I know the head gasket is like a light bulb, it either works or it doesnt and if it breaks down its usually triggered by something else. He said that either to cover his ass or if he really believes that, that means hes not very qualified for the job.So now my car is stuck in LA, Im stuck here with $700+ in (their service $300, towing and rental for a week $300), plus I got a fever from standing for 8 hours in the wind in the middle of nowhere and a bad cough, that I still cant get rid off. Im not counting the stress that Im dealing with every day since that happened.Im not a mechanic bur all I know is that I had a drivable car, that Ive never had major problems with and 2 hours after I left them, the car broke down. I drive to LA a lot, like 1-2 times a month and Ive never had any engine problems or cooling problems. I also drive it here to school every day and everything was fine. Its normal for the suspension system to wear out with time and that would be the first thing Id expect to break down.

For both of us they take her car first my truck sits in the same spot for another 15 mins.they finally pull it in after 15 more mins. They finally lift it up. That is 30mins. Right there and just starting on it. And on top of that I was told the other day it cost $24.99 and the guy tells me its $29.99 and the neon sign still flashesOil change $24.99
