My last visit to the shop was about ~2 years ago.I had visited and bought from the place several times before and had generally good experience. That is why when I needed to upgrade my equipment and install a small home automation system, I wanted to support the business. The last visit however was very unpleasant. It was a quiet time without any other customer. I had to make quite an effort just to talk to the sales for 5 minutes. I wasnt sure what went wrong (e.g., I talked about price and delivery too early because I already knew what I wanted.) In the end, I did what I wanted to avoid: buy from an online store and hire a local A/V contractor who does not have a retail space.
The first time I visited Audio High was on September 24, 2016.Its easy to remember the experience because the welcoming committee, Eugene, was kind beyond my expectations. He welcomed my friend and I into the store -- we were unaware that we were in for some concert quality musical delight!Over the years, the Audio High family has welcomed me in with open arms. Rollie has become a familiar face and friend too :)I know that Audio High will help turn my home audio dreams into reality. If you want to receive expert knowledge, meaningful recommendations, along with warm n fuzzy feels --- this is the place for you too!
I have frequented a few hifi audio stores in New York, Boston, and SF areas and I have to say Audio High is the best overall experience I have had in comparison to all other stores. Eugene is very knowledgeable, friendly and patient and do spend sometime talking to him about what you want. He will help you figure out the best solution for your needs. If you are going on a weekend, be ready to wait, a bit as it can get a bit busy.
I recently sent this e-mail to Audio High:To: Michael Silver,Its a pleasure to relay to you my compliments to your service guys and staff. Anthony is incredibly responsive to my steady stream of questions while Titus and company troubleshoot issues I have with my system with patience and expertise. You are fortunate to have such good people representing your company. As a former owner of a highly visible service oriented business, I know what it takes to instill this kind of responsiveness. I would and will always be ready to recommend Audio High not only for its expertise but also for its service and followup.Happy New Year!
Absolute first rate audio store! The owner there is very knowledgeable and personable to talk to. I go there are all the time and get to listen to their best systems without any pressure to buy anything (though I hope I can soon). There is no snobbery here and it is a very relaxed atmosphere. This is the way an audio store should be. Please stop by and pay them a visit! I definitely plan on doing business with them at some point in the future.
All I have to say is I wish other businesses had the same service that I was shown here. I am a complete newbie when it comes to audio and was a little intimidated when I first walked in. (this is not your local Best Buy store, they know what they are doing and talking about) I had a few questions regarding some headphones and Eugene showed me what they had as demos and walked me through what each headphone was known for as far as their sound goes. He answered all my questions no matter how stupid I am sure they were and even showed me some amazing speakers. I would easily recommend this shop to anyone.
Rarely do I take the time to post on-line reviews. Having been a customer at Audio High for over six years, however, a review has been much overdue. From start to finish, this is hands-down the premier audio store in the Peninsula. First, the equipment they offer is first rate. You may never see or hear better equipment in one room again in your life. Some of it you may be able to afford, some of it perhaps not, but it all looks and sounds fantastic. Second, they offer full service home audio and theater installation. Ive had several equipment/internet circuitry issues over the years, and theyve never failed to diagnose and fix the problem. They have a crack installation crew that reminds me of a special-ops team. Only approachable. Third, and most importantly, Audio High is run by people who are not only incredibly knowledgeable but also go above and beyond what a consumer could reasonably expect from a full-service audio and video store. Most of my (many) interactions have been with Eugene, who is not only a true audio hobbyist in every sense of the word but also seems to always be there when I need help with an equipment/connectivity problem, product advice, or just a recommendation on which new jazz artist to explore. Ive seen him set up multiple combinations of gear for customers to audition for hours without batting an eyelash. He is a great trouble shooter with a seemingly intuitive ability to think like high end audio equipment. If he doesnt have a ready solution, hell figure it out and get back to you with an answer. He has demonstrated immense patience and thoroughness answering a hundred silly questions from me personally over the years. Ive also worked extensively with Michael, the owner of an internationally lauded company, who communicates a genuine interest in his customer, whether it be a famous rock star or movie producer or just a local Bay Area music fan. How often does a business owner go to a customers home to personally set up a new pair of speakers? Great speakers too. Which pretty much sums up this Bay Area gem: Great products. Great people. Rare combination. If youre in the market for a great audio or home theater system, theyre worth checking out.
The setups are wonderful, and the couple of guys that run the place are friendly and knowledgeable. I spent hours here one day just listening to music. I even got a tour of the home theaters. If you need home theater stuff, these guys are the ones to go to.
Those complaining about the price are idiots. This is a high fidelity audio shop, not the skullcandy and Bose section at target. Although I had nowhere near the money to purchase anything the owner was more than happy to let me listen to the amazing equipment. Saving up to go back. Awesome shop.
Superb service. I ordered a cabinet, they delivered it to my house quickly and free of charge. When the manufacturer sent it missing with 3 screws Jez personally went and bought them, delivered it to my house free of charge. Superb service!
True professionals. If you are looking for honest approach to HiFi then you need to see Eugene at Audio High. Thank you for your Help.
Very helpful staff. Order was delivered on time. Happy with purchase, will definitely shop there again for next component.
Fantastic service. But remember this is not Best Buy. This is where you go for the best audio equipment around the best service. Enjoy!
I’ve had great experiences here time after time. First, it only makes sense to go here if you are prepared serious about sound quality. The lines they carry are not cheap, but if you care about sound quality, you know about the brands they carry — Kef, Chord, Parasound, Meridian, Audeze, Sennheisser, Marantz, Dynaudio, etc.I only have experience with them as a retail shop, though their service and attention to detail suggests they would be great in their home theater installation business.
Listened to all sorts of impressive speakers and headphones here. They stock KEFs, Sennheizers, Audeze, Chord, among other audio equipment. Knowledgeable and helpful staff.
The knowledge of the sales staff and the love of music is very apparent.
Stumbled upon Audio High walking around Mtn. View with my newly born son. I went in to look at headphones for my birthday and met Eugene who was kind enough to take the time to show me the Sennheiser, Audeze and Sony offerings that they had and let me listen to several models that they had and he showed me some Chord DACs that they sell. He was extremely patient, helpful and had the goal of helping to find the right equipment for me, answering questions and giving time to listen to a number of devices to narrow it down using an extensive in-store collection of high quality digital offerings which were better sounding than my iPhone could muster. He even played a track for me through one of their higher end speaker offerings from KEF, which really put into perspective how well recorded music can sound if played through the right system.Talking with Eugene was enlightening and I learned a great deal both about how to get the most out of my digital music collection and equipment. He also introduced me to some new, great artists. Really nice place.
Your friendly neighborhood HiFi audio store with great quality equipment. Staff is very knowledgeable and helpful.
Worst service. Either the person I spoke with didnt know anything about what hes selling. Or, I didnt look wealthy enough to waste time on. Either way its their loss...
Cant afford to buy much here, but oh the products and service ! This store *really* knows its stuff, and I get to listen to items completely out of my price range. It gives me something to aspire to :-).
Worst audio store ever seen, the employee asked me how much I wana pay for his headphone, I said 500 dollars, then he replied me sorry our cheapest headphone begins at 700 lol.
Love the place. Can be a little cramped.
Very helpful staff!
Friendly staff. Helped my try out some headphones & speakers.
