This was my first time visiting this place and the customer service is awesome. The cashier did an excellent job of explaining the menu to me and helping me place my order. It was cool watching them make the ice cream with the liquid nitrogen and the fresh toppings were good. However, for the price, its not somewhere I would go on a regular basis. The overall taste wasnt that awesome. Id rather go to Cold Stone. The ice cream did last a lot longer than regular though which is great if youre taking it togo!!
Great ice cream made while you watch. Flavors are innovative and always changing. My favorite topping was a wine syrup, but haven’t seen it on the menu the last few times I have gone.
Liquid nitrogen made to order! This mini stand takes orders at the window and usually has 4-6 flavors on. Had the Cowgirl Creamery collaboration - a cheesecake ice cream that was decadent. My son has the Chocolate Genache, equally decadent. We both had cones - but the waffle cone on mine was a bit stale and soggy. Smitten is expensive - it was $15 for two cones with single scoops. But for an occasional treat, worth it as the ice cream itself is great.
Smittens is one of my favorite places to come with friends and family. With the wide and constantly changing variety of choices, you will never be bored. The ice cream is super soft and creamy and makes for the perfect ending to dinner! Great location, great staff, and amazing service. 10/10 recommendation.
Second location tried within a month. For sure their ice cream is great quality and I like the minimal menu and limited flavors. I tried their waffle cone for the first time and it was so worth it! I love chocolate ganache flavor and Brookie flavors. My family tried strawberry flavor and they mentioned it tasted really fresh and rich flavor.
I tried their new cheesecake flavour and it blew my mind, it was so flavourful and had crunchy bits in it. Such a delectable experience, worth the $ 🤤
Ice cream is excellent. It’s smooth, it’s delicious and flavors are great. You can get one is a cup, waffle cone or waffle bowl. They thoughtfully place waffle bowl in a cup. Flavors are variable, but all worth trying. They offer combination of toppings, cookies and syrups as well. It gets quite crowded but line moves quite quickly as they usually have two people taking orders.
Please help me understand:If I order place an order of a single scoop of chocolate and a second order of a single scoop of vanilla, I will have two cups. One with chocolate and the other with vanilla. If I ask to put both flavors in the same cup, this suddenly becomes an impossible task.
I love smitten ice cream but this location has nightmare parking. also their weekend evening live music is fun, but so loud it’s basically unenjoyable… you can’t even talk to your friends without screaming at each other.
The waffle cone was not fresh. Then they have the audacity to be sold out of the strawberry but still advertise it online. Now only sold in pints. I was in the row so I thought I would give it a try but it the “Salt N Straw” for me, no more deviations for me.
Its like sitting and eating an ice cream with taste and nice, decent people .
My favorite ice cream. It’s made in front of your eyes and definitely delicious looking and tasting. We had chocolate ganache couple of times, we’ll have it many more times. Super yum. Even though it’s 60% dark chocolate you won’t feel like it. Have to check out other flavors too. Also, fresh waffle is a must try. It’s available in form of cone or bowl.
Delicious freshly made waffle cones and Ice creams. They have great flavors with seasonal options.Fresh strawberry ice cream was really delicious. You can add sauces and toppings too.
Glad smitten openinteresting flavorsservice pretty good and quickque to order moved ok on busy hot day.too bad gelato not sold at Santana row.hot day not sure if smitten was as good for cold relief on a hot day.gelato would of been cold perhaps.wish Maggianos had gelato.
I love this place. Nobody makes better ice cream.
Delicious but expensive. They dont really do the traditional scoop by scoop thing that most creameries do. They have a small, regular, half pint, and pint. Probably the most cost effective way is to split a pint with someone. Its pretty pricey seeing as it starts at $5 for a small and $11 for a pint. The ice cream itself has an extremely creamy texture. It also melts pretty quickly because it isnt frozen for very long while its getting made. The only real complaint I have about it is that the spoons are really flimsy. Apart from that, they have unique flavors that will appeal to most and they are all done extremely well.
Love coming here for creamy and smooth ice cream, as well as their daily flavors.
I was here on Tuesday 5/11/2021i ordered Matcha and Earl greythe base of these two flavors was sour (maybe it almost expired)and the guy (with the black shirt)who took our orders was bad manner .... i’m not sure if he’s not happy with his job or he’s too tired .... he needs to learn how to service and how to take care customers
Extremely poor service and attitude. The orders before and after mine filled. When I asked where was my order, I was given the excuse that there were different stations had different flavors and mine was not the flavor they worked on. When my order still wasn’t filled and all stations were empty, the excuse was they were closing and order did not went through. It did not explain well why the orders of two groups in front of me and two groups after me all went through.
Even, the ice cream was delicious. The staff were in good shape. The price was fair. By far the best ice cream in the city! Maintaining the same degree of accuracy as the most difficult ice cream recipes and specifications.
They never cease to delight. My prize tonight? A single scoop (aka “munchkin”) of peppermint mocha. I could have eaten more. I wanted to eat more. I’m actually glad I only ordered a child’s size, because I would have felt the same even after a three-scoop “regular”. The liquid nitrogen makes it as smooth as butter, but so much tastier! If you’ve never been to smitten, they have a couple of “everyday” flavors (chocolate, vanilla, and a pretzel and cookie dough treat), as well as a small rotating “seasonal” menu. I will definitely be back in February for the Meyer Lemon, with or without the gingersnap crumble!
Amazing ice cream shop. Specially made ice cream - tastes very delicious and soft. This santana row store is very well places in shopping area so amazing location. Lot of sitting place near shop to enjoy icecream.Staff and service is very nice.We specific like Vanila and chocolate flavor - but other options are also really good.
Really cool made to order ice cream shop. After your order is taken, head over to the window wheee you can watch your ice cream being made. They use liquid nitrogen to flash freeze the ice cream, so it’s a very unique experience. It’s really cool to see the equipment and watch the process - I don’t know of another place like it.It’s located in the middle of a nice courtyard with places to sit and places for kids to play, so it’s super family friendly.
One of my favs!!! I come here whenever Im in town
It is a very unwise marketing move to support a political candidate in your marketing or advertising as it alienates that part of the population that opposes your political views. You and/or your product will be associated with these opinions. Especially in times of such raging opposition, a very negative lashback can occur.Yesterday, my family and I were in Santana Row where I saw a poster in the window advertising some product named after a politician. My gut reaction was that of revulsion and utter disgust. I swore I would never eat at this place solely based upon the owner’s alignment with someone I consider so vile. And secondly, that they would use their business as means to express their political opinion. By all means, have your opinion. That is what makes America great still. But if you sell ice cream, market ice cream. Be smart, and see the ramifications of the actions you take.
A one-of-a-kind collection. The place is immaculately clean and well-presented. Every flavor on the menu made me want to try a scoop and it was difficult to limit myself to only one.
Wow! Service exceptional. Such a nice staff. Above and beyond!!!
Probably the staff should learn some manners and understand better english. I received a wrong order and when asked about it, they just say that they are closed and cant to do anything about it. I traveled 21 miles along with my kid only to get disappointed. Screw you guys
Staff is very friendly here!!! Customer service is very amazing and quick!!! I will definitely come here again!!!
As an ice cream coinsosoir (or a dessert coinsosoir or a chocolate coinsosoir), I would say there are other places I rather go for my dessert or ice cream but I still like dessert and ice cream; so, this place satisfied my need for sugar but I don’t think I would ever crave it. I went with the earl grey ice cream with chocolate chips, which was different and nice. My girlfriend got this chocolate ganache ice cream which was good, too. I’d go again but I might prefer the Yard House mini chocolate soufflé dessert over this ice cream.
Best ice cream in the worl! Perfection
Hands down my favorite ice cream!I wish they had the chilly pepper flavored one that they used to have once :)
Amazing ice cream and wonderful workers that can answer any question you need answered! The ice cream taste amazing and the atmosphere is something you cannot miss!
Quick and Friendly great ice cream for a warm day!
Just wow.. chocolate icecream Tastes like heaven. One of the best Ice cream place Ive ever been in my life. And coffee flavor tastes equally good. A must try.
By far the smoothest, creamiest ice cream available. They always have great rotating flavors. Recommend the seasonal corn flavor when available during summer. Only location in South Bay is in Santana Row but totally worth the trek for their fantastic ice cream! When theyre not too busy, you can ask for samples before ordering.
Smitten ice cream has awesome flavors and I love the atmosphere of the area that smitten is located at.I tried their toffee ice cream with oatmeal cookies mixed in and it was DELICIOUS! The cookies added a great crunch and flavor. The only thing is that it was too sweet and I dont usually complain about sweetness. So if its too sweet for me, it is probably too sweet for someone else.Regardless, I always like to swing by when Im in the area to see what flavors they have! Keep in mind it can definitely be pricey.
I dont understand why people really like this place. The ice cream is decent, but tastes like diet ice cream. The menu lists things similar to cold stone with chocolate-y goodness, but instead you get a scoop of vanilla with the Guinness book of world record small chocolate pieces in it. Its like eating a brownie, but only if a brownie was made out of air. Ive read everyones reviews and apparently I just dont get it.
I was expecting a better flavor to it and service. I dont know if this was a unique situation but I ordered a vanilla and strawberry flavored icecream and they wouldnt serve the two scoops in one cup! Unheard of! Then the icecream tasted chalky, bland, the strawberry one had no color to it and I had to toss them because it left a bad taste at the end. Im sorry to say that I didnt enjoy them and too pricey as well.
This place rocks! Awesome flavors and so delicious. Get their coffee ice cream its the best.
Very tasty and sweet ice cream. Unexpectedly so big ))) also thanks for so nice stuff!
Yummy creamy ice creams. I tried the vanilla scoop with chocolate and caramel sauce. The quantity is big. I feel for me atleast, I could share the small sized ice cream also. The waffle bowl is also tasty. Good location quick service and yummy ice cream.
Delicious ice cream! They have 4-6 flavors and they make each of them really well. I especially love their waffle cones since they are made freshly in the store. I love their chocolate cookie dough flavor ice cream!
A remarkable menu item is the earl grey w/ chocolate chips. Like no other.
Amazing ice cream and the waffles are even better. Not a lot of flavors to choose from but the homemade waffles are the best. Quite expensive but acceptable given the location. Worth the trip.
Awesome ice cream!
Holy smokes. The Roasted Banana may be the best ice cream ever. But all great. Classic Vanilla...Cookie Dough...all of it. Great place. Fun to watch the making of the ice cream too. Dont miss...
They’ve got the best ice cream in SF. They also have pretty great customer service. Love Smitten!
One of the better ice cream places in the Bay Area! Its a perfect spot to get ice cream and then lounge and relax in the Santana Row grass, especially when there is an outdoor concert. Highly recommend.
Ice cream was good. The customer service wasn’t. The girl at the reg was pretty bad. Never been there before and she had some attitude in explaining different flavors. In reply to owner: Would love to take u up on the offer for another try. However, we are from a different state, visiting for the holidays. Thanks though.
Nothing like on demand ice cream made to your taste. They use an liquid nitrogen cooked nicer to make it in a minute or 2. Pretty cool
My favorite spot. Only reason why I go to Santana Row. Small little shop. You can watch them create your ice cream. Different flavors compared to your typical ice cream store. There is a kids area in front and sometimes live music
I have tried all the flavors and its very satisfying
Their chocolate ganache ice cream was absolutely wonderful. My daughter really loved her cookies and cream ice cream. I wish it didnt cost $5 a scoop or I would be there more often. Our Bible study went over there after we were done studying and we all had a great time.
Little pricey, and not sure what all the fuss is about.
Delicious delicious ice cream
I love smitten. It’s pretty expensive and you can’t mix and match flavors in a single cup but all of their ice creams are made directly for you and their waffle cones are also made fresh. They change their flavors with the season but I’ve never had a bad one. Smitten stands out to me because it’s soooooo smooth and you can taste every ingredient (be it tea, or pie etc.). The owner patented a liquid nitrogen machine that makes single serving ice cream and senses when to stop mixing so that the ice crystals aren’t too large creating the perfect ice cream each time. I go here when I want a treat.
Was in the neighborhood and kids wanted ice cream so we tried this place for the first time. We all liked the simple vanilla one. It tasted like home made. The other flavor with cookie dough wasnt that good. I should have tried blueberry lavender one instead. Service was fast.
Super delicious ice cream made in front of you!
Food was so appetizing. i will probably become a regular. it has a good feel to it. feels similar to a restaurant in new york i loved.
Definitely some of the best I’ve cream money can buy. But it’s not cheap, so avoid if that’s what you’re looking for. Go big and get the combos they suggest. You won’t regret it.
I wasnt smitten but it was good ice cream. I tried blood orange ice cream on top of a Blondie with chocolate sauce. The ice cream was good. The Blondie was rock hard. (I had to put the cup on a table so that I could push down with the plastic spoon hard enough to chisel off a piece. The chocolate sauce tasted like it had been squirted out of bottle that said Hersheys on the side and corn syrup on the other. Other folks in my party had waffle bowls which were execellent. Bottom line, spend your money on ice cream and waffle cones.
Used to be great and my favorite. Now for some reason you can only get 2 days old ice cream by pint only.
The ice-cream here is unbelievably smooth and creamy. I loved the chocolate brunette which consisted of a chocolate brownie, chocolate ganache ice-cream and chocolate sauce. Mind-blowing. I also tasted the vanilla ice-cream which was even better!!! Will be heading back for some more ice-cream soon!
We ordered a regular sized flavor. Found it to be a bit too much and had to threw about half of it away. Next time I would order a small size. The location of the shop is perfectly located with a small turf to sit and talk out. I liked the matcha ice cream and the hot stuff.
Kids never complain about awesome ice cream
You can get 2 scoops but for some reason they need to be the same flavor otherwise the machine does not work. But if you take two order the machine start working again.... This is not a joke ...
Quick and quality service,They have a variety of flavors to choose from all for reasonable prices.Portion size is enough for two to eat.Nice place to go for desserts
The ice creams are good. Usually it is crowded on weekends. There is a seating area with fake grass right next to it where you can sit and enjoy the live music played right there on weekend evenings.
They make ice cream scoop by scoop. It was super fun to watch and it tasted awesome. Not a lot of selection because it is so awesome, but I say that as a positive. I though $5 was a lot at first, but you get a lot of ice cream for it. We had our two kids split one and they did not finish it. It is great. You have to try it!
I loved it. I tried the coconut, caramel and pecan ice cream. It was creamy and yumm. Nice place to hangout in evening as its in Santana row.
Very nice location, sit in the sun at Santana Row. The flavors are subtle variations of standard flavors. I had one my favs, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough but this had pretzel bits in it.
It is unbelievablysmooth and delicious!! Though, they dont make ALL scoops in front of you. So dont expect to see it prepared in front of you always. Also, it is SUPER expensive. $5.5 for one scoop and $7 for two. $1 pee topping. Wayyy pricier than other places.
OMG. This place is probably the best icecream and brownies Ive ever ever had. The quality of sweetness and creaminess level is up there. Love love this place. There arent that many selections though, but the selections they do have, they do it well. I wished they had more stores. This place is to die for!!!!!!
