Matthew, simply put, is amazing, for his attentive and caring assistance makes your diy dreams become reality. Matthew patiently, thoroughly, and kindly explains any and all questions you may have- come to find out he did just that on his lunch break when I needed help the most. Matthews guidance not only empowers customers to tackle (with enthusiasm) projects that were initially daunting, but his attention to detail and genuine interest in helping customers is felt when speaking to other staff such as Allan, who also went out of his way to find a product I could barley describe, let alone remember the name of. Staff, like Matthew and Allan truly exemplify a an exceptional work ethic, which conveys knowledge, with such care that it made me feel as though I had been working along side of them wearing an orange apron all along. This Home Depot is a pleasant place to shop. They even have some of the only electric car chargers available to use for free while you shop there.I am a big fan of electric cars, bikes & vehicles in general. I just dont believe we have the infrastructure in place to support everyone driving one yet. We either need more public chargers, or better batteries that go farther on a charge.Anyhow, I like this Home Depot as a comfortable place to find anything generally needed for your home. Not always as inexpensively as could be done, but seriously!... We made the best tools in the world once, before NAFTA & the free trade agreements; which was trading most all our manufacturing jobs, then capabilities to manufacture things to nations which nearly use slaves to make the cheapest possible items, & dig up all resources America could possibly dig up for us to have least expensive materials. The result of getting the best prices, was an unskilled manufacturing sector, which has nearly dried up at home!I dont blame anyone for creating unfortunately co-dependent ties to other nations, I just think we.need to be self reliant as a country, where we dont need to depend on other countries to make all the items we use & need daily. And maybe we just have too much cheap stuff filling our dumps and oceans & ....I think this is a good place to shop!...

It would have been a much better experience if the people working knew where stuff was. I asked 3 people 2 of which gave me wrong information... long story short a quick 10 minute trip cost me 35 minutes and several unnecessary trips around the store for 1 item 😡👎

Weve been doing some construction over the last several months and have bought many items from HD. We usually go to the Santa Maria store, but yesterday we went to the one in San Luis Obispo. I was shocked and sickened by the filthy, dirty carts! Not just one, all of them looked like they havent been cleaned in months or longer. 🤢I literally had to clean the whole thing myself before I could set my purse down in the childrens seat. Why arent they trying to keep everything as clean as possible? Especially considering were still in the middle of a pandemic and the little ones under 12yrs cant even get a vaccine yet. It didnt get much better. My shopping experience was less than, as well. I got vague, clueless answers from employees who couldnt seem to be bothered by pesky customers. I guess its back to Lowes...

I love going into this home depot. Not only is a very clean and organized store, but the employees are also knowledgeable about the department they work in. Thanks for the help and look forward to seeing you again soon.

Needed a small dowel insert to fix a wood project and they had just what we needed, that and some gorilla glue we got it done and like new again. Staff was helpful in finding the dowels and fertilizer for our citrus trees.

I likes to wonder around and come up with other projects to do!!!!

If I can I go to the Santa Maria store, this location always seems to be missing two or three things I absolutely need for any project, shelves never fully stocked. So short staffed they force everyone through self check out and never answer the phone.

Home Depot is not requiring customers to wear masks indoors. Employees are mandated but they don’t have to ask customers to wear them or offer them one. Also the hand sanitizer bottle at the entrance was broken. Recommend curbside, delivery, or shopping elsewhere.

Ive had some real mixed experiences here, but my most recent was great.Patrick helped me find the right materials to make the upper shelf & supports in my closet, doubling the useful space at the top of my closet. He took a lot of time to go over my options with me, find everything, and then cut them to the lengths I needed.

Unlike other Home Depots, you can get help here. For example, at the Home Depot in Santa Maria, I asked what the differences were between 2 water pressure valves? And the answer buy the more expensive one because it must be better. At this Home Depot they would know the answer or get someone that does.

Avoid if at all possible. There is another one in Santa Maria and its worth the trip. I tried to remodel my kitchen and after I spent 2 hrs on the design and paid 100.00 to get a measure, they send some clown to my house who refuses to wear a mask or practice any precautions for my family and thought it was funny that I wouldnt let him in without safety and I couldnt get 10k in cabinets, if you can believe that. I junked the whole job because of their irresponsible measure guy. Now I want a screen door and sorry millworks is broken, call back tomorrow Ive been chasing a simple screen door for a week. What a joke of a store. Avoid avoid avoid.

Very friendly and polite people. Very helpful. One of the Managers Aaron met with us and helped us out big time. Allowed us to park our trucks in the parking lot for the night.

This Home Depot is out of stock for things I need quite often. Even if it says its in stock online, none of the employees have success locating the items. Its a little bit frustrating.

Store is kept well supplied and at least in their electrical, painting and plumbing isles from my experience you will find knowledgeable foljs that can help

I went, I saw, I bought plants, gravel, dirt, pegboard hooks. Exactly what I wanted. I asked for and received help finding the hooks.

Friendly staff, not much stands out its the home depot

Very helpful salesman who knew more about kitchen faucets than I did. I ended up with one that should last longer and has an extra very handy feature for the same money. And he kept his mask on and let me chose how close to him I wanted to move.

Home Depot is okay. Some staff are more helpful than others, pretty much your typical big box corporate store. They definitely have more than our local hardware stores and often times at better prices, so you get what you pay for really.

Staff here has made it very easy to find what I need and get in and out quickly on multiple occasions.

Excellent customer service from “ Sally” in Appliances!She went out of her way to secure a washer for my mother. Taking time to explain why there may be a delay and the cause for storages at this time. Still Sally was able to find just the right machine and set up a delivery that satisfied my mother. Thank you Sally, it was a pleasure working with you.

My wife and I were pleased with our trip here . We found the shelving racks she wanted and the florescent lights thanks to all the associates floating around .

The employees try hard to help and are friendly. But the store is simply under staffed and under payed, so expect long lines and waits. They dont even take phone payments like Google & Apple pay in 2021. FYI the HD owner/founder contributed millions to Trumps big lie 🤥

Went in for a strong drain cleaner for my toilet. Asked a representative for the best one to be used for a toilet. I trusted that he provided me the correct product but upon returning home discovered it is not to be used in toilets. Haha.

Went to get some garden fencing. Got what I wanted, got to check out and found out they were in the song spot and were gonna be about $7 more, but the cashier was nice enough to give it to me for the price they were sitting over. So it saved me about $80.

They usually have what I am looking for... just need a little luck to find it.

Lovely selection of live Christmas trees to choose from. Plenty of Christmas decorations for indoor or outdoor use. Prices are steep for the lights and decor, but the trees were reasonably priced. I wasnt stoked on all the trees being wrapped in netting because you cant get a good look at any of them, but it was convenient during transportation of the Christmas tree. I was fond of the self checkout option. Didnt interact with any employees during my entire experience, but shelves were well stocked, there was an abundance of products to choose from, and the store was nice and tidy. All in all, I say Home Depot is a one stop shop for all of your seasonal shopping.

Dear Management of Home Depot San Luis Obispo:Darryl is amazing.Give him a massive raise.We drove 3 and a half hours to pick up something he located and held for us.We may have gotten the last 12 foot skeleton in So Cal.He was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and awesome.Hire more like Darryl....HE ROCKS.

Home Deeps is typically a winner but this time I wasnt able to find anytime to assist me as I had some questions about soil for succulents. Google helped me out, but still, HD is doin a bangin job with covid restrictions.

I would like your staff Pierre to be recognized for his advanced knowledge in your systems workings! He was kind to me and to his coworkers in fact he went above and beyond after he showed them what to do! And he not only printed a duplicate but he got the home depot logo to appear as well. He was the only one who could print a duplicate receipt for my landlord, I really needed. Your staff Karrin was first to help but after 3minutes she gave me the impression it could not be done and would dismiss me. I said she will need to find someone else. A manager showed up and he tried, with great customer skills... I felt he would not dismiss me, but he didnt know how to work the system either. And the station next door tried also to no avail. Finally thank you to Pierre who is a great asset to your store! The entire task took about 30 minutes with all of them, but I couldnt leave without a simple copy. Thank you Pierre! Well done he knew exactly what to do! He should teach class there!👏😁👍

Limited staff with limited access to inventory data which by múltiple staff accounts is frequently inaccurate. When available staff are generally eager to be of assistance.

As usual, good selection, early sales, only negative is dont wait to be asked if you have found what you are looking for because it wont happen until you get to the register and by then whats the use lol.

Love Home Depot-full of everything you need. However, staff always seem grumpy and like they cant wait til quittin time to get out of there. Forget trying to find help, the store is so big just go to the counter instead of looking for someone. Prices are kinda high but whats not anymore. Still its a great store to find all your home improvement products in one place and parking for miles. (seems like it!)

Horrible service, employees were rude and had little to no urgency. Waited 30 minutes for someone to cut us a piece of ply wood just to be told they couldnt. Then picked another piece, cut most of it and then was told wed have to pay the full price. After about a 45 minute ordeal, were walking out with our piece of wood and were asked did you pay for that?! Would have left only one star, but the cashier was super friendly so thank you Rebecka for being the only awesome employee there!

Good as far as Home Depots go. On the smaller side, no tool rentals though. Also no one checking or enforcing mask policy at door.

Helpful people. Great plant return policy if they croak when you get them home. Been doing buy online and curbside pickup lately due to COVID-19..an order was incorrect so having to now go bsck in store for returns kinda sucks but it’s always been an easy shop there.

Clean store, had everything I needed. Getting help is tough sometimes but they do pretty good.

What home depots arent great?!?Every once in awhile they are out of stock of many items, but that seems to be everywhere right now.

1-21-22 the guy in the tool department was kind of rude. I need a tool unlocked and it seemed by his ugh and additude that I was bothering him.

Clean store, quick service and plenty of stock. I mean, its a home depot, not much else to say.

A good go to for repair supplies like specific sized bolts, screws or water pipe supplies for irrigation or sink.

This is the place to get all your building needs and home projects. I think this home depot is one of the biggest from Templeton to Simi Valley

The rudest customer service I’ve ever experienced for a store that is packed with associates. Presumptuous from the moment I walked in up until the moment I left. I’ll drive a little further for a different store after these experiences.

I went in looking for a part that their website showed as being in stock and available in this store. I asked several unhelpful employees to help me find the item I was looking for. I showed them the website, which indicated both availability and the item # of the product. I was finally told that they couldnt find the item but I could order it for in-store pick. So instead of being able to walk into the store and buy an in-stock item, I had to order for in-store pick up from my phone and wait in the parking lot for 30 minutes until I got a text telling me I could pick it up. Absolutely horrible experience. I will be going to other stores just to avoid having to go through such a ridiculous experience again.
