My vehicle had just turned 100,000 miles and we all know what this means, changing out the timing belt and other needed replacement parts. Continental provided a quote and, once agreed upon, completed the work on time. When i picked up my vehicle they walked me thru the original parts thay were replaced and explained why it was needed. This place is the best! I was on vacation and my vehicle broke down. Called AAA and basically didn’t have much choice. Had it towed to the nearest repair shop that they recommended. So I was pretty apprehensive as you can imagine. Had to get home so I left it, rented a car and drove the 300 miles back home. Without writing all the defense tails, let me just say ~ one of the very best experiences I’ve ever had with a vehicle repair shop. John (manager or owner) ensured I was i was able to secure a rental car. (I was driven the to 2 different rental facilities by his driver) the car was repaired for quite a bit under the estimate. He kept me informed and a week after driving it home he texted to ask if I was satisfied and the car was running well. I only wish this shop was closer to my home. If you live anywhere near here, I would not even think of going anywhere else. Thank you AAA and thank you John at Continental. Ted

Its hard to find hard working, honest mechanics these days but Continental Motorworks has this in abundance! I was expecting a hefty bill based on what AAA contractor suggested what the problem was (new alternatow) but pleasantly surprised that all I needed was a new battery! I will be using these guys for all automotive needs in the future!

Youre going to get quality mechanics working on your car. They do pickups and deliveries and wash your car after it gets serviced, highly recommended.

You guys just tried to rip my wife off for about $800 of unnecessary work; specifically, for changing all the fluids in her car. I happen to be a licensed truck mechanic and degreed electrical engineer. She took her car to your shop for a smog check. In turn, you attempted to steal from from her, attempting to take advantage of a person who doesnt know about cars.You tried to sell my wife completely unnecessary services. The fluids in her car are clean. Yes, the water in the coolant system has evaporated over the last 50,000 miles or so, I will put some distilled water in the reservoir, thank you. But the fluid is squeaky clean, as is the trans fluid, power steering fluid, and motor oil. We used to offer this service for free when i worked in a gas station....wed just charge for the topping-off of water. You people are thieves.

Thorough and honest assessment of what my car needed. I researched the various recommended fluid changes, etc. that they were recommending with miles on car and it was exactly what every reputable source said to do if you intended to keep the vehicle.Very courteous, washed the car and had fresh popcorn in the waiting room!

John, and everyone at Continental Motorworks, saved us. After a couple of problems with our old mechanics we ended up stuck outside of SLO. They got us in ASAP, fixed the issues caused by the other mechanics, walked us through the whole thing, and managed to get it in all under warranty. Hundreds of miles later and everything runs as it should!

John, and Continental motor Works is the best mechanic in the area! I have lived here my whole life and used many mechanics all over SLO county. I’ve never had my vehicles taken care of so promptly and professionally as when I’ve taken them to Continental motor Works. I’ve used them multiple times now and every time they were able to get us back on the road ASAP. My diesel truck broke down one day before we had a family camping vacation planned. I called John, he was able to get my truck in right away, found the problem, which wasn’t exactly an easy fix, he was able to fix it in time to be able to load our camper and boat and head to the lake on time. He literally saved our vacation. Most recently my fiancé’s minivan broke down in San Luis Obispo. I called John to ask his advice. He tried to talk me through the problem to help me fix it myself before I brought it in, which is very uncommon for a mechanic, as anyone will know. I was unable to fix it myself so I brought it to him that very same day. He found the problem that day and was able to get it fixed the very next day. Not only did he fix our van but he Dropped me off back at my truck after I dropped off the van to him and delivered it himself to my girlfriend at work when he was done to save us a trip. Not only did he drop it off, but he dropped it off clean. They wash every vehicle that they work on. Our vehicles have never run better, and my fiancé’s van hasn’t been that clean since we bought it. Ha! I recommend John and Continental motor Works to anybody in San Luis Obispo, Los Osos, or any neighboring towns in SLO County

Customer Service Experts! I needed to load a BBQ into the back of my pickup for a family reunion and the tailgate mechanism would not work - this all at 4:30 on a Friday afternoon. I took it over to Continental just hoping that they might get the gate down so I could get my job done. Both Jeff and Ray stopped what they were doing to help me. Not only did they quickly figure out what was wrong but quickly fixed the mechanism giving much more than I had hoped for. We take all of our cars there for regular maintenance and are completely satisfied with the work and the price. Their integrity has never been an issue. For great customer service and great work take your vehicles to Continental!

John is very helpful and extended the Silver service to investigate a brake fluid warning light. Everything checked out OK and the warning was reset.

Jeff, the owner of Continental Motor Works, did a pre-purchase inspection of a used Volvo wagon we were looking at and the detailed report he provided saved us nearly $2600 in repairs that the dealer had to do before we completed the transaction. Needless to say, theyve been our mechanics ever since!Always a pleasant experience... and the popcorn machine is a BIG hit with our kids!

I have been having my cars serviced and repaired at Continental Motor Works for 10 years. GMC pick up, Saab, Prius. With the Saab car there is no longer manufactured Jeff was very inventive on finding and also having to make parts. Jeff Spevack loves what hes doing and it really shows with his smile.
