I travel the us mostly the west coast.Ive bought a USMC poncho liner, boots, and an assault pack from here. They also let me trade in my surplus Alice pack and gave me a good deal! Thank you!Friendly staff, knowledgeable and helpful with A real appreciation for high quality gear. Helpful on the phone too, Jason was the employee who helped me out awesome customer service.Will definitely come back, would recommend to anyone who is looking for a good surplus shop. They have some cool items that Ive had trouble finding at other shops or even online, the us poncho for instance

Was passing by looking for a knife I can use to shuck oysters since i was desperate to just get whatever would work.The lady at the counter helped me look for a proper oyster shucker at another store and even called them and got all the information I need. SLO Camp n pack is a great shop for outdoor equipment and tactical gear. For a small shop they are very well stocked with high qulity gear, not junk like youd find at the big box stores. Of course, quality gear isnt cheap, but the prices are fair. The best thing about this shop is the staff who always seem to go above and beyond to answer questions and show off their gear. Unlike other places, they are enthusiastic about letting you handle the merchandise, after all, its harder to say no to a new knife when you feel it in hand! SLO Camp n pack is also a local business which means your money stays in the community.

Folks behind the counter were friendly and very helpful. They fixed the clip on a knife that I had bought from them, no muss, no fuss. Quality equipment that they stand behind! She also pointed out a new version of my knife and showed me a couple other first-rate knives while I was there. You never know what might come in handy!

Awesome store, they have everything in there. Definitely stop by before you go camping I guarantee they will have something you need and didnt think to bring. They also have a pretty good selection of straps and latches for fixing broken bags or backpacks, which has saved my stuff from the trash can more than once.

Ive been in there a few times and each time they have been very helpful and informative if I had no clue on something I was looking for. I live in Lompoc and come up to slo because they are the best and now that the Santa Maria store closed, they are my main store. If they dont have it then they can order it for you as well.

This place is great for picking up surplus items or survival gear. Not many places to choose from in the Santa Barbara area so anytime I up here I stop by. Easy access from the freeway so no reason not to check it out when passing by.

I was pleasantly surprised. Really nice selection of tactical. Even nicer stuff than some of the tactical shops near the big bases, especially their selection of assault packs and day packs. They also have some nice camping equipment. Good spot to outfit yourself for a backpacking trip. They have sleeping mats, hammocks, stoves, fire starters, instant meals, lots of cold weather layers, or knives, etc. The gear was priced affordably. Easily cheaper than AAFES.

Great equipment, decent prices, helpful employees. Reason for 3 stars is that the lady at the register openly mocked people who tried to save the whales by not using bags and straws...also did not charge other customers for bags which is illegal in california

They have a lot of cool stuff here, both new and used. They have a good variety of things, jackets, boots, hats, belts, knives, survival gear, pins, stickers, goggles, shade netting, etc. The staff was friendly and helpful. It was a little pricy, but it is specialty items they are providing.

I went to the camp and pack store to find my son a mess kit for his first Boy Scout campout. When I walked in I was in hog heaven! They have everything you could possibly need for a good time a good campout Safety First Aid paracord clothing gear tactical everything its amazing how much they fit in that tiny little store. Also this staff were phenomenal I cant wait to go back!

Theyll have most of what you need within reason. A little pricey so be prepared to spend some money, even on used goods. That said, they are friendly and informational .

I found great quality camping gear for a fraction of the price I would have paid at REI.
