Attentive sales people. Some of the shelves were not stocked although ULTA did have the product in drawers under the shelves. Overall a great experience.

I went there to look for an item that was said to be available online and the worker went to look for it and she left for her break without even saying. This is honestly the worst experience I’ve ever had in an Ulta store. I also left the store without the product because I was told there wasn’t any while the app says they are in stock

I scheduled an appointment online for a haircut and all over color for my mother at Ulta Salon on Higuera. First, the color did not cover the grey area in the front of my mothers hair. Second, the stylist cut my the back of my mothers hair unevenly . I paid approximately $150.00 for cut, color, and style. My mother contacted the store about the issues with her service and was ignored. Finally, my mother went to Ulta in person and requested a new stylist correct the issues and was told they could only have the same stylist fix it.

I love this store. It has all my favorite products and really nice employees.

Employees are mean and unhelpful. I have never felt so disrespected in an Ulta store as I did by Lyra and her 2 fat, overpaid friends who work the morning shift. They have nothing going for them so they have no reason to be stuck up snobs.

Because of my work hours, my husband called to order a hair product for me. When he arrived to pick up the order he was refused. He was told that I have to pick up the order because his name was not on the order, even though he placed the order and paid for the order. I might understand this if I was buying some addictive drug from you, but a hair spray. Are you kidding me? He said they could call me to confirm, but oh no this is way to important to take his or my word for it. This beyond ridiculous. I will never shop there again. By the way, the same product that they charge $37.50 for I can get on Amazon for $25.00 with no hassles.

Stock is very hit or miss & its impossible to find someone who works there to help you & the girls behind the register are always swamped, so they cant help either.

I have never written an actual review for Ulta before and everyone there is usually so helpful and friendly. However, my experience this time was far from helpful at all. This woman with blonde hair asked if I needed any help looking for something and instead of trying to help me look for the item I needed, she said “you need to upgrade” and then made multiple remarks about my appearance and said I “needed” this and that. How disrespectful and straight up rude. Commenting on how pale I am either isn’t going to make someone want to purchase something, I didn’t go there to be criticized and judged and I certainly didn’t need help coming from someone like her.

I ordered some items for curbside pick-up and received a text at 10:40 am that the items were ready. I went to pickup and was rudely informed that the store opens at 11am. I called the store at 12 minutes til opening. I initially was confused because I got the text but parked and waited. I then called at 11 and was put on hold for 3 minutes with only one car waiting with me. I hung up and called back again to be put on a brief hold then someone finally answered. They told me to show my id for pickup by leaning in my passenger window and then proceeded to tell me they can only deposit my bag through the back window? Apparently customer service has Covid19 as well. The San Luis Obispo location has many bad customer service reviews and it makes me sad to see this.

Hello! These girls are so helpful Everytime I call with a question. I’ve been on a hunt for a product during this Covid time and I just want to say, they were sold out but they helped point me in the right direction on locating the product. Sadly, the Paso Robles Ulta does not have great customer service, or just ‘friendly’ staff in general.

I was extremely disappointed with the customer service at this store. I used to work at Ulta and the employee standards for customer service are not performed at this store. I had a hair appointment and traveled to the store in the morning only to find out that the the hair dresser had called out hours prior to my arrival. Not only did the store fail to contact me about my appointment cancellation but they also failed to do anything about the inconvenience. It was time and gas that I spent to get to the store and the least they could have offered was to reschedule my hair appointment--but apparently that was too much to expect. It wasnt until I reached the cash register that someone mentioned the deal on hair services they had this weekend. I could only laugh because there was no one there to do the services and my appointment was cancelled. I am never booking with this store again.

Ellen is so nice.. Think that is her name she had pink hair. She helped me with my new eyebrows lol I couldnt do like her but still trying she is so sweet and can tell loves her job..! And my little me was with me and she even tried making it comfortable for both of us instead of being annoyed she was nice and thoughtful!! Hope she is there for my next shopping experience! This place is amazing! They have both affordable brands and high end brands so you can look for anything you need in one place. The people are always very nice and helpful and you get points for shopping too. If youre passing through and thinking about going, do it. Much more variety than Sephora.

Great people working there who are always willing to help with a smile. Of course it has a great selection. There is never a problem with the parking. And you can always return things that dont work for you.

Pretty terrible customer service. Had to go up to cashier to request help. 2 people came and helped other people. 1 of them even walked in circles around me to show product I was standing by then walked away from me to ask some other people If they needed any help. At that point I left. I was in the store for 30 minutes. Ill drive to the store in Santa Maria next time. They are helpful!

There is a wide variety of makeup and skin care products. They have high-end makeup as well as stuff that you would find at the drugstore. To me thats the only reason to go: to get the mix of high and low end. When I went no one greeted me or asked if I needed help; when I looked for someone to help me there wasnt anyone available.

I was shopping today at the SLO store. The line was quite long and the sales person seemed to be having problems ringing up a sale. I politely asked for another cashier. That said, I am a woman in my late 70s who takes pride in my appearance, thus I shop at Ulta. the man who was being waited on was extremely rude to me, to the point I was shaking. Told me I was old and wouldnt live long anyway. Both of the salespeople said not a word to this disgusting person. I have owned retail stores and trust me I would never have allowed such disgusting behavior towards one of my customers. Left a really bad taste in my mouth for your store. I doubt If I will return. I send a lot of people to buy the products that I have found work for me, but being treated like that left me cold. I am sure that I am inconsequential in the big picture concerning your store. I just felt the necessity to share my experience as a senior shopper.

I visited this store on 11/27/2019. There were 4-5 workers in the front as I walked in. NONE of them greeted me or asked if I needed help. I went back to look for the item I wanted to purchase, and it happened to be they didn’t have my shade. Several workers saw me looking around and still couldn’t manage to help me. I went up to the front and asked a worker if she could help me, after sighing very loudly, she asked “well what do you need help with”. This said worker was beyond rude. Another worker comes around and states it would be better if she helped me instead and proceeds to say “sorry it’s her 3rd day working here” as if it’s an excuse for rude behavior. This store has BEYOND bad customer service. I love ultra so this was very upsetting.

My home away from home!!! Love this place! The parking is free and lots of it. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The choices are endless. They dont give out samples. I go here now instead of Sephora.

This Ulta store is a big disappointment to me the customer service was ok at first one of the girls was helpful. Then I was in line with my husband and daughter there was one person ahead of us and one in back of us the cashier was taking long so a second cashier showed up and took the girl in back of us first we had been waiting at least 3 minutes before the customer in back of us showed up and a totle of 4 minutes before the other cashier showed up that was ridicules to me so I expressed myself and left everything behind and walked out.

Lili the Skin Expert was wonderful. The other clerks I met were most unprofessional and snooty. Consider sending them to charm school?...I will stick with the Santa Maria store.

I went into the store and the girl at the front cash register was standing with her arms crossed. I made eye contact and no response or any help. I had to ask her for help. Rude attitude. Her name was Gabriella. She kept her arms crossed with an attitude while answering questions. She pointed where I could find the product. Surprise it wasnt there. Finally she uncrossed here arms and reluctantly walked over to help me. Sorry for visiting this location. If you dont like dealing with customers go flip burgers at Mcdonalds!!!

What can I say. My wife loves this store.

The customer service here is terrible. Store employees stand around and talk to each other, loudly, instead of helping customers. Their products always look messy and inventory is low to non-existent. Today I put back products on the shelf to buy at another beauty store at another time and only got the necessities so I could use up a gift card.

Love Ulta in general. Theyre selection is great, and some of their exclusives are awesome. So happy they started carrying beauty blenders! Their rewards program is way better than Sephora too since its redeemable for money and you can pick whatever you would like. Sometimes their stock is iffy and the displays are messy but its the same at Sephora.

I had one young lady who was newly pregnant who helped me and she was wonderful however I dont think the manager was very helpful I was asking her for a product I told her it was too expensive come on it was almost $100 for a bottle of retinol then she tried to talk me into another machine but I told her I already had a machine I wanted something else she kind of sit up and just walked away didnt really offer me an alternative product. I wont be going back to the San Luis Obispo Ulta I will stick with the Santa Maria Alta where theyre very very helpful. There is also a product that I wanted it was slightly damaged I asked him to take a little bit off and she said no to the associate just put it into the damaged goods it was still usable and it was a color that I dont always use so what difference did it make. Then I had coupons they were just delivered a couple of days ago while one of them was and they told me that they were expired they wouldnt take expired coupons. I asked her product and she said oh were all out they got they got sold out in one day I felt that they didnt want to make a sale because it was almost 5:30 and they close at 6. Whatever happened to managers giving answers and problem solving?

I love ultra overall, but I had an absolutely awful experience with the in house salon. I decided to go in to have my hair cut and to get some layers for movement. I left happy after the cut and style, but realized the next day when I washed my hair that I had the choppiest layers ever. Blunt and just not cute at all. I went back to get it fixed and not only did the stylist seem irritated that I came back unhappy, but she blamed it on me saying that I didn’t tell her that I part my hair that far over (I did). For the price I paid, this should not have ended this way. This whole thing happened almost 6 months ago and I still can’t wear my hair down without styling it because the layers are unfixable without a drastic cut.TLDR; Very bad haircut, insensitive service.

Shakina at the Benefit Brow Bar is top notch. She is the best on the Central Coast for brow waxing and shaping. Unfortunately, the employees who book her appointments schedule appointments for her incorrectly which makes it inconvenient not only for customers, but also for Shakina.This is not a one time incident as it has happened on other occasions. At some point training on such a simple thing needs to be put in to place. There is another brow station at this Ulta Beauty location. Makes one wonder why they cant seem to get anyone to work there.

I entered the store after work to purchase some cleansing products. I was not greeted at the door (paso does this really well). I wandered around for 30 min obviously lost because I had never been here and the lay out is new to me. I found my products but ended up not purchasing my la Roche or muriad because not once was i asked if I needed any help. Not once. Even though I passed by them multiple times. Out of 5 customers and 7 employees.I decided to give the paso store my business.

I was so happy that Ulta came to SLO. I buy specific lotion/soap that is only sold in Ulta stores and now I can just physically get them without buying them online. The people inside greet you when you open the doors and they always are wiling to help their customers find the right item.
