Ive been living in Pasadena for 3 years now. Of the many places I lived, this is my favorite! But, when it comes to this 99 cents only store... Its frustrating to see that they dont carry everything that stores in other areas have. When I go to other 99 cents only stores; I always find what I need, and then some. I dont understand why this one in particular doesnt have the same items? It almost seems that they focus on the higher priced products! Cmon, help us out here! Thank you
I Go here all the time to get supplies for my classroom. The staff is really helpful. Yesterday, I bought a bunch of easter decorations. I only spent $25 for the most unique looking items. My students will definitely be happy! There is worker called Parris. He was very helpful and answered all my questions. There is Another one too who helps me al the time, but I forgot his name.
Never had a problem with anyone at the 99. The people who work there know what theyre doing, and I have never had a problem.
Nice layout, good prices, good selection, courteous staff. Also serious about social distancing and monitoring how many people are in the store at once. One thing that almost threw there me though when attempting to locate with Google Maps (as of Dec 2020)... The store is not really visible when approaching from E Villa St, as the corner store in the same building complex stands empty, and my first thought was, the 99 shut down? Maps needs to be updated!
Store is dirty. Not organized. Food is so old that I see flies. The woman cashier with the glasses game me and my child attitude. Ill never ever shop there again unless they hire caring people or go under new management!
Love the early hours. The staff is friendly and very healthy.
Its the weekend and only one register open. But at least the cashier was pleasant.
This store has some very hard working people who usually have time to say hi and chat for a minute or two. Its one of the smaller stores but is usually kept well stocked and incidentally, the this store is in Pasadena not San Marino. Corner of Los Robles and Villa St.
What can I say. Pretty good place to get cheap stuff for the low. You know the 1 dollar. pretty cool place. Friendly people. Overall a wonderful experience
I love the 99cent store. Organized and friendly staff they always greet even on busy days. Expeditiously helps me out during check out. Skate board friendly.
They have a better selection of products than the one on Colorado. However, be prepared to wait in line for a while, as they usually have only one register open! 😏
All I can say is G-H-E-T-T-O with a capital G. I used to like coming here because of wide selections of merchandise, but lately I been running into workers with lots of crash and attitude. I know we are amidst a pandemic, but it doesn’t warrant being shouted at the front door “No outside bags!” Or “Hey, get 6ft back!” Last time I checked my name isn’t Hey and using proper common courtesy to inform patrons of rules was the protocol. Not yelling at them like children. Don’t forget to mention the street vendors in the parking lot trying to sell stuff. One guy followed me all the way to my car trying to sell me some cds (which no one hardly uses anymore) and face masks that I already own. And this was after I told him No Thanks! The least they could do is not solicit by following and shouting at shoppers. Last time I checked soliciting was illegal. The one on Colorado street is much nicer with more professional setup and employees. The workers were polite to shoppers when informing them of the rules. And they don’t allow street hustlers in the parking lots to flag shoppers down to sell stuff!
I love it they are so helpful all the time and polite
Most of the workers are kind. I like going here because theyre constantly bringing new items. Items get better and better, the price also goes up, its still affordable though.
Found What I Wanted ☺️
The store is well stocked. It just needs better management and security. The outer perimeter is not kept up. Employees are attentive and friendly. With improvements this store could be a favorite for me.
Ok store but definitely in need of remodeling. Inside and out.Good selection.
No lines! Well-stocked place. Lots of stuff. Amazing! They sell wines, too
Always find what I need or want.Well kept and staff is always very helpful.
I JAST WHENT FOR A DRINK BUT IT WAS A LATER GOOD THINKS THE Im finally expend 60.00 a lat good things
Clerks was sanitizing and cleaning door greeter.was very friendly good experience
Workers are pretty nice so thats a plus, theres a large and wide selection of things do wish 99cent stores carried more Asian type food though
Various products and large quantities.
Not bad at all. Mostly Social distancing shoppers. But the carts are not disinfected. I had to tell a guy behind me to back off to 6 ft😁
Horrible, horrible customer service.1st instance started when we first walked in to the store. One of the cashiers started shouting repeatedly to the security guard at the front door in a belittling way.He kept saying, dont you UNDERSTAND, no more people in the store. He kept repeating that over and over again emphasizing how he didnt understand. It was clear to me that the security guard was an older gentleman who seemed hard of hearing (as he kept cupping his hand towards his ear)and it was also evident that English wasnt his first language.I understand that its important to keep a reasonable amount of individuals in the store specially for everyones safety. But, the cashiers tone of voice was so excruciating. Its very apparent that he has no respect for his fellow coworkers.2nd instance happened when we went to pay.Cashier Carolyn already looked so over her day.I get it dealing with customers during the pandemic can be stressing. But, what had me in disbelief was how unrespectful she was towards me.She screamed at me for following the instructions on the debit/credit card pad.All to find out she hadnt charged me for a bag that I didnt even ask for. Realizing HER mistake and out of frustration decided to take it out on me.Definitely, not coming back to this place. The whole crew needs to learn manners and be more respectful not just to their customers but also to their fellow team mates.
Always have what I need. Does not break the bank.
Nice store that seems to have a good team that perform their duties well. The waits can be a bit long during busy hours especially around lunchtime, but the great prices make up for it! Good selection of fresh produce and you can sometimes get slightly more ripe bananas for 25 cents/pound, hot damn. Thanks 99 cent store.
The manager of this store is insanely rude and under qualified i felt very sorry for the poor ladies working under him when we went to the store. He was super rude to me as well for no reason I made a polite suggestion and he snapped at me while not keeping covid spacing requirements properly enforced.
I like here at this 99¢ store it nice cashiers and my grandma used to work here her name was Espinoza... And there a lot of my favorite things I need and want like for a example color books and phone charger and other accessories for phones and good toys to buy my little brother... And they have good things to gifts to give your mom or dad or your other family members 😊
It was great no line at all
I have not shopped at the 99Cent Only stores as much as before since they changed there policy from only dollar items to discounted things, but they--this one particularly--do have lots of goodies that other dollar stores dont carry. Especially a good place for holiday items. This is a busy store so sometimes the lines are long, but it can be worth it.
This is one of the best 99 cents stores I have been too. Always have everything stocked. I wish I could remember the cashiers name she is always smiling and very nice.
This is a fun place. Very nice staff. Sometimes they have cool carpets.
Hidden gems for the holidays. The store can be a little in the messy side.
Great service!
Not the same old great 99 cents only store. But still hundreds upon hundreds of great bargains.. I go there first. Load up on groceriec, canned goods, and some fruits and veges.. then finish up the shopping list at my local super market.. I save a lot that way..
Tall cashier great at her job fast. Woman cleaning the place was so sweet made me feel welcomed. Store manger is doing a great job
Good for quick stops for cleaning supplies.
Giving it a 4 but not because of quality. As usual offer very affordable items especially to low income people like me. I buy paper, dental, canned food n cleaning products . Buy Fresh food elsewhere.
This is one of the best 99 cent stores I have been to, a good size that ofter almost all the time something surprising. You will find products here that you dont expect! Best time to come is early mornings where the good stuff are still on the shelfs.
Homeless cocktail lounge, weed dispensary, homeless outdoor bathroom, and more! Do the 99!
Always fun to shop at my local 99c store.
Theres more security then workers. Its actually very uncomfortable; at least to me. I trying to buy pads with 4 guys all whom I recognize from previous shopping experiences at the location. Theres a lot of people loitering in front and throughout vthe parking lot making it a hazard. Thumbs down
The problem is one particular cashier her job.is to assist the customer if the customer has a disability she and ALL SHOULD HELP THAT DISABLED PERSON NOT JUST STAND THERE ARE CALL A HELPER TO ASSIST THATS HER JOB NOT JUST STAND THERE SHE IS GETTING PAID i GO THERE AT LEAST (2TO 3TIMES A WEEK IM NOT ASKING FOR SOMETHING FREE I HAD PAID FOR ICE AND AS A CUSTOMER WAS GETTING ICE I ASK HIM COULD HE GET ME ONE SHE SAID NEXT TIME YOU GET IT FIRST OF ALL I INJURED MY KNEE AND IT its HARD TO PIVOT THE CART WITH A TORN DISK.IN.YOUR KNEE THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO HELP THE CUSTOMER NO ONE IS ASKING FOR ANYTHING FREE I WILL TALK TO MANAGER NEXT TIME I SEE HIM THE STORE IS GREAT I GO TO BOTH THE ONE NEAR P.C.C THE STAFF IS NICER THEN ON BILLS AND IM RATING THE STORE a 4stars the cashier(1) thumb down.
This place is good for cheap and quick if you must. This store is dirty. They are understaffed and because of this the staff there are at times sad looking or unfriendly. The people who shop here are really the worst. Rude, ghetto, obnoxious. If your comfortable to shop in hood like areas then this is the place.
Store has a descent selection of food items and a good size parking lot. You can find parking with no trouble.
I bring my own bags and proceed to pay. The guy hands me my receipt, and proceeds to ring up the next person. When I ask so I have to bag my own groceries? he replies, not really, Im just trying to move the line along. Umm okay, how does that help you if Im still standing their with my stuff still on the counter, and youre ringing up the next person? Apparently someone didnt read their job description well.
They restock on Thursday afternoon. The best day to go is on Friday afternoon. The stock changes, great buys on items, but you need to take your time.
At first I was a little skepticle about going in because of the location and the people around it. Its a pretty sketchy place, but I have never seen a 99 cents store with so many options! It was amazing.
Good dollar store location. Not the cleanest but I suppose you get what you pay for. Staff is friendly and lines go through really quick!
Large 99 cent store that has a huge variety of items & a produce section adjoining the main store. Looks clean & well organized. Since a lot of people go there, parking can be problematic but worth the search for a parking space.
My only issue is there are never enough lines open to accommodate the patrons. Two lines open to check out 40-50 (and Ive counted) customers infuriates me. 15 minutes later, 2-3 employees come from break and you might get another checkout opening. Why arent the break schedules staggered during peak hours? Why doesnt the manager, Jose, jump in more often when staff is short or on break? Management and the workers could definitely be a little more proactive when the store is packed with happily-paying customers
Shady area but really good prices
Customer Service is the best. Employees and managers there are lot mite helpful than other 99c stores. Variety is limited in this location.
Cashier lady slower than a sloth; good thing the other cashier lady replaced her, but that was until I waited 20mins ridiculous!
Pretty good produce if you’re on a budget .. definitely helps me cut down on my grocery bill . Plus I can find my cleaning supplies here. Just never enough cashiers
This store looks a little run down and the area it is in is not the best. Overall, it is okay. It is convenient for me to find Gatorade since it is close to my sons practice.
You will always find parking. This store carries unique items in comparison with other 99 Cents stores.
It is nice i have my family
Ehh... The only reason Im here and not at the one on Colorado and Allen is because I didnt want to go all the way over there... But now, Im going over there anyway because they always have better stuff there...
Quick stop shop. Employees do their best to keep lines moving quickly. We customers need improvement.
Thankful healthful, an they have everything
Great store please contact me per phone left on your voice on phone number listed. Thx
I like coming here .some good things good price
You have to visit this store with a target product in mind first. Once youre there you undoubtedly will go d other items to add to your list. Need party decorations, GO HERE FIRST!
It has good things to po purchase but i would be great if it had more variety of things.
Clean not too busy actually my car was overheating the staff went over and beyond to help
Latety, its much cleaner and more organized on the inside. The outside vast parking lot and empty storefront next door attracts a lot of neighborhood characters that hang around. I go there carefully. Its a very convenient walk from my house. However, I wish the bus stop and sidewalk were expanded, less parking lot, more permeable surfaces, and another store. You know this is a food desert when Im writing about this place. The only other place within walking distance is the horribly expensive, over-packed and dangerous Ranch Market on OG and Los Robles. Id rather shop at this 99 Cent Store than go over there.
Good selection of endless ssstuffff!!! A whole lot of everything. Lines are not too bad.
Have almost everything with some items little expensive
I go here for produce when I make Pico de Gallo. they have all the fresh ingredients i need.
Good deals but shady people hang out in parking lot. Nice staff and poor cashiers keep big lines moving.
Regular 98 cent store. A variety of standard items. Checkers were nice.
I wish I can give the 99cent store a zero. Went shopping the other day in the produce and came across rat bits on my fruit i will never ever buy fruit from you guys again. (Los Robles & Villa )
Its a fun place to shop and save on general use items... 5-stars!
Store itself is decent enough. The folks that hang around outside makes the environment feel a bit sketchy.
Smaller store but has so much more to offer!!
I really like this store. Its cheap and convenient
Plenty of free parking. Its not just this 99 cent store but all 99 Cent Stores now have items that are higher-priced, IE $2.99, 3.99, 5.99, 7.99... So watch out for the yellow stickers that denote a higher price!!! Its become really annoying everything isnt 99 Cents anymore. This part of the neighborhood seems somewhat unsafe, so be careful.
This store always have the best items, excellent service... I really recommend this place...
Good place to find decorations. But it is always packed and never enough cashiers
Joyce the cashier is rude and needs better customer service skills. she needs to be patient and friendly with all her customers.
This place is tough to gauge. Some days there are lines so long that they pour into the aisles, and there are only two cashiers working the registers while other employees organize soap and stock napkins, like we arent standing there. Other days I am in and out in a few minutes. My only pet peeve is that they charge $1.99 for items that you can find for $0.99 at Dollar Tree.
Ive been going here for years. They are doing better about being more organized, but their selection of arts and crafts are pretty good
The store its self is ok, messy but its always busy so its ok . However they Seriously need to educate their Security Guards in ADA Laws . They are not allowed to ask for service animals IDs, and the older security gaurd did and gave a Bad unprofessional attitude. Not all Disabilities are able to be seen . Unless you are government, police, airlines You are Never allowed to ask for a service animals ID. And if the animal has a Clear Service Dog, or animal is marked in bright red, do you really need to ask ? I think Not ! Be aware ADA community this older security guard has no respect !
Great values on name brand products like Odwalla, Yoplait, and Nabisco. Changes daily.
The lines are always bad here. Thats a norm for many 99 cent stores but its super bad here.
Im not a fan of this 99. The staff isnt as friendly as in other 99s and that could be because whenever Im there they are understaffed. And the parking lot is just awful.
They have good stuff, some seasonal promotions and a lot of fresh vegetables and fruits.
Great prices ok service perfect for any bargain shopper
For simple small daily items. Extension cords, torches, lanterns, candles, insecticides.
Service was good people were nice it can be a little cleaner
Best prices around organized store and a lot of products and variations
There are some good deals, but the store is chronically under-staffed.
I have never had a bad experience at any of the 99 cent stores.
Store was a mess shelves packed so full product is being damaged. The cashier, the only one open, was rude. I scanned my c.card and the display read wait for cashier. She started in on me about sliding my card again holding her up. I explained what it said then she started in my card cant be read by there machines I need to pay cash or leave. She snatched my card from my hand went to swipe it behind the register when it finally said approved and printed my receipt the parking lot Ill stop by security thing I put something in my pocket
Cashier has horrible service ! The worst 99 cent Ive ever shopped at ! Never coming here again . Manager should have a better eye at hiring employees!
