I dont want to bucket everyone together because Ive had a few ok experiences, but most of the employees at this store are not helpful. Usually employees wander around the store but do their best to avoid eye contact with you. 20 years ago HD was the most helpful place. They built their reputation on customer service. It was actually fun. Now it feels like most employees dont know what the heck they are talking about. For example, I wanted to buy some lumber for a deck. I was told that because I wanted 20 foot long boards that I needed to go talk to the Pro Shop for a special lumber order. I went to the Pro Shop at 3pm on Saturday. The pro shop was closed and I was told that the customer service department could help me. So I walked to the other end of the store where some grumpy old dude was taking online orders. He looked at me like I do online orders only, why are you bugging me? then proceeded to tell me that he couldnt help and that Id have to come back when the Pro Shop was open. How is the special order shop not open on weekends? So, I took my $1800 lumber order elsewhere. Chump change for HD but still sad that I was there to buy and no one would allow me to do that. Just bad business.
