I couldn’t help but notice a couple reviews people complaining that people aren’t wearing masks, According to the Constitution/Amendment 28 Us The People have the right to choose what would be best to put in Our bodies,weather You like to wear a mask or not,if You take the vaccine or not,medications, etc I support Your Business Sandpoint Safeway for supporting peoples rights on what they choose to put in they’re body:)PS Karens and Coolaid drinkersIf You want to wear a mask,take the vaccine,etc thats Your choice but don’t force people around You to do so Be respectful to other peoples choices, since You think Covid is so bad don’t come to Our Red States.

The second oldest supermarket in town. With the first long gone now. Always great staff and service, it has a friendly atmosphere to boot.Pretty good selection of everything, large selection of decent wines, they used to be a specialized wine person as well to ask any question you might have. Dont know if they are still there or notOnly place they sometimes fall down is on their fresh produce? Super 1 is better consistently for that. Where they are different is As well as a full deli, they have a hot counter withChinesefood as well as standard corn dogs on chicken etc. The hot food is pretty decent, though you may want to check the steamed rice first If you want to make sure its not crunchy. Consistency of that particular product seems to be an ongoing issue.

Always fast and friendly service, a great selection of fresh produce, a Starbucks inside in case you need a pick me up, and Chinese food at the deli if you are hungry. A wide selection of hot sauces for those spice lords out there, try out secret aardvark habanero hot sauce, full of flavor and a medium spice level. Pick yourself up some sour creme and favorite hot sauce and make a spicy cream to top off your tacos with!

Has what we want usually. The bakery is almost always out of our favorite jalapeno and cheese bagels, and the wine selection of our go-to Washington Top Box Cabernet Sauvignon was not stocked literal for 3 weeks, or they couldnt keep it stocked for demand. We dont want the Red Blend or the Chardonnay, etc. Otherwise, they have sales on other staples.

This used to be my favorite grocery store in Sandpoint up until today. I am in my 70s and have never been treated right off the top with such rudeness and disrespect. Anne was so darn nasty for NO reason at all that I really dont think I will be returning there any more! Its sad because I really loved on every Sunday after Church meeting my daughter there for doughnuts.

Absolutely nasty person pushing carts outside, so rude. Makes me not want to go back to Idaho at all. Besides that, everyone else seemed cool, decent and clean Safeway.

The organic vegetables at this store were terrible! I was very disappointed!

Love Safeway! I grew up as a kid in Grand Coulee dam and this is all we had. I think they have the best produce and meat department around the Sandpoint area. For a grocery store. I wont discount our lovely winteridge natural market or our Saturday farmers market. Those are amazing but overall groceries everyone knows Safeways got the best! Best sales also.

I went there because employees wore masks but the cashier told me she hated it and was making her sick. Only about 5 per cent of new people are wearing masks as opposed to last year of locals who shopped here. Guess its either pick up or not.

Deb in the flower department pulled off a miracle tonight. My daughters date lost his wallet and forgot the corsage. As soon as her step mom realized this, she called around and Deb said she could do it! Not only was she able to get a corsage done, but she stayed late to finish the buttoneer for her date. I cant thank you enough for making my daughters night, and rescuing her boyfriend.

Staff here is quite friendly! They helped with any questions I had. The deli staff was amazing! Very chatty which was a plus while waiting for the deli meat was being sliced so I wasnt just awkwardly standing there. Very fresh vegetables selection!

Its a grocery store.... But just fine

Price is the only reason I did not give Safeway 5 stars. What I like is that you can often find unusual items normally found in specialty stores or online. But you will pay a premium all the way around.

Two problems to check out Stan 15 or less was full of someone with more than 15 items like about 35. Checker thought it was funny.seafood gentleman at the seafood counter was busy playing with his cell phone and playing games or something so he didnt have time to help us and when he finally did he shoot away three or four other people I thought it was very rude. Tell him were sorry we bothered him.

If youre looking to find something a little out of the ordinary, chances are Safeway has it in stock. Great little grocery store!

Staff is always friendly. They are the only store that carries my favorite Bais. Produce is often good but sometimes the quality is less than par. Meat and seafood selection is decent.

Great place to shop. Amazing prices if you have a club card and it is worth it because of the fresh produce and a wide variety of everything. The deli food is always delicious, and theres a gift and floral area, as well as a Starbucks inside.

Love their sales and the quality of their meat and produce is second to none!

I go here for the hot food. Other than that Ive never really enjoyed the ambiance of safeway.

If I use the app, which is always, I end up saving more than I ever would going to Walmart or another store. Plus, I get gas rewards! I love the entire staff and moat of them know me and greet me by name. Feels like a hometown store. Love it!

Experience was very bad.

If you care about the simple act of social distancing--avoid this Safeway. I had to circle an aisle (twice) to avoid the assistant manager who was not only oblivious that I was trying to get by, but not wearing a mask while chit-chatting away with other unmasked customers. I shop early in the morning to avoid those who dont take the virus seriously, but this Safeway seems to think they are immune. No more for me, Safeway is not safe.

So happy that our store is open their regular prepandemic store hours again. So nice to have another choice when shopping late in the evening.

This store is a staple in Sandpoint! I love the variety it has and the fact they have a Starbucks is awesome! And you dont tip?! Makes me feel wierd but I find myself making up for it by being extra friendly and asking about their day?! ( Something I should do anyhow)

Deli service was slow. Waited 15 minutes for service. Low on help.

Safeway is great but they need to run off the homeless guy living in his car. He screamed and yelled at me because my dog was barking in my car in the parking lot.

Good produce and best price on coffee in town. Bakery is terrific and good beer and wine selections. Lines are always backed up so be forewarned. Starbucks inside makes this a good stop.

Employees are very accommodating and friendly. Produce section seems to always be bright and clean when I shop once a week. Butcher is also outstanding of what I prefer for a specific cut of meat. Deli meats do not spoil fast like other stores. Deli personal are always smiling and paying attention to me when I am explaining something. Others I have found do not make eye contact and are doing something else while trying to understand what I wish to order.

Staff are consistently awesome. Helpful, friendly, competent. Selection is good and if there is occasionally something that is not right, they take it back and refund with no hassle.

My Safeway coupon app did not work here . the store was not well stocked and people were allowed to bring in dogs. They did however have a great wine selection.

Its just ok. Nothing out of the ordinary. Some grumpy folks work there.

I would love to say how terrific this store is...but I can’t. I am a believer that the employees make up a store, and I have to say there are less than a handful of employees here at the Sandpoint Safeway that I find truly remarkable! The deli employees are the absolute worst, they have no idea what it means to put your customers first and half the time you have to shout out to get anyone to help you, they look right through you. Someone really needs to get some customer service trainers in here to spruce things up.

Lines are too long. Friendly staff although a bit chatty for my taste. Good sale prices. Adding the self checkout has been a game changer for me. Its quick and easy to grab what I need and get out! :-)

Over all general satisfaction.

Excellent supermarket with beer/wine section. Produce was decent as was the meat department. Wine prices seemed very fair. Plenty of parking, central location.

My local SAFEWAY is small, but Ive shopped SAFEWAY in many locations and they have products you just cant find anywhere else. There are a lot of Lucern and Signature brand products I like a lot. So yes, I do like SAFEWAY!

I spent $6.27 at the deli for a small container of fried rice and general Taos chicken. It tasted bland like nothing but disappointed deli workers. Couldn’t finish the rice. Super one is way cheaper and better quality.
