I live in Cleveland and drive specifically to Sandusky for Matthews Ford and Lincoln. Their sales department, service and management are Top Notch. The Sales and Management department know exactly my taste and have gotten me 2 of my most favorite cars that I have ever owned.I recently had something puncture my tire and went out through my rim (pretty unheard of) and they got me in immediately and checked to see if there was anything in my lease warranty to help cover the rim damage. Unfortunately I was out of luck so would be covering the full repair thru my insurance or on my own. My rim was not common, but they located one and ordered it right away. They provided me with a Loaner on the spot and was able to get my rim and tire ordered and fixed within a week. I was very grateful for their service, care, attention to detail and updates during the progress.I could tell a difference with how well they treat their customers and go out of their way to make sure things are right from the 1st time I walked into their store. They are completely worth my time to drive from Cleveland and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND their store. Everything from sales, financing and service has been excellent. They have always been a pleasure to work with.

Overall the process of purchasing a used vehicle was great. The initial phone call to sales almost deterred me. The salesman sounded like he was reading off of a script and it was very obvious he was. He mentioned he had Several calls about the vehicle today when it was 830 in the morning (just after opening).Once I arrived at the dealership, my opinion went from leery to comfortable. Chris was an amazing salesman. Helpful, kind and genuine. The car was waiting for me. He was knowledgeable about all of the features and details that the car offered. The negotiation process was easy and smooth. Paperwork was handled quickly and flawlessly, I never felt pressured to purchase additional add ons.I cringed when we were waiting for paperwork stuff to hear another salesman using the same lines I had heard earlier. It feels super unnatural and pressures the customer vs inviting them in. The sales team has fantastic personality, let them use it!Would purchase from this location again in a heartbeat. All the Mathews are excellent and kind people.However their used car sales manager Don Grimmer refuses to take accountability and responsibility for his shortcomings and scapegoats and blames his salesman for those shortcomings, when they only are doing their job. Sometimes in life people point the finger and they refuse to accept that when they are pointing a finger that their are four fingers pointing back at them. Unfortunately either the Mathews aren’t aware of the lack of this individuals non existent accountability or they have been deceived . When salesman sit and watch football games on Mr. Mathews watch and refuse to go greet customers and other salesman actually go and greet customers and the customers are appreciative of that, that in itself is an issue. Eventually the Mathews will see the trend after many capable and credible salesman move on due to the lack of leadership .
We have only had the Escape for 2 weeks. The ride and handling are better than expected. We were really looking for a comprehensive set of safety features. The 360+ is easy to understand and definitely comprehensive. I feel that we really made a good choice. Not enough time to know about the mileage of the hybrid, but it is looking like we will get the EPA estimates.

I recently had a recall repair taken care of. Riley from the service department was excellent to work with. I inquired about some issues with my vehicles hood while I was there that day, and Riley did some investigating on my behalf. The hood is under warranty, and he is helping me get that taken care of, as well.
I recently leased a 2020 Ford Escape from Mathews Ford and was very happy with the experience. I worked with Donna Hast in this process. She stayed in touch with me prior to the lease expiring without being pushy about it. She was very easy to work with, never pushy or aggressive sales tactics. I felt she cared about what was important to me. When my lease is up in 3 years I will not hesitate to go back to Mathews and work with her again.

I called my sales person at about 3:30 in the afternoon to find some information on license plate attachment. It seemed after trying to take off the temp tag, the screws just turned in place. She told me they were there for a short time, so I brought my car in. The service department looked at and said the threaded pieces need to be replaced. they did this while I waited!!! This was great cooperation between sales and service and to do this that late in the day was perfect being I let my temp tag run out of time.
Went very smooth: I knew the price of the used car I was buying(it was ~3K lower than similar cars from other bigger Ford dealers), they gave me a quote for my car, Ford credit application super simple and fast at home, came in and signed papers and was educated on the equipment my new car was equipped with. I spent about 2 total hours from looking, test driving, getting a quote, application and the delivery. Super super simple process and love my new ride.
My 2018 Ford with 28,000 miles was diagnosed with needing a clutch replacement. Mathews Ford told me it would be over a month before they had a loaner car for me to get it repaired because all their loaner cars were being repaired with engine problems. Because I couldnt drop it off. They also told me to call the other Ford dealers, maybe they would be able to help me. They wouldnt help me at all.

I was experiencing truck trouble while heading home on the turnpike. I had no choice but to get off and leave the truck at the nearest Ford dealer I could find. It being late on a Sunday I new I might have a problem getting someone to look it over. I called first thing Monday morning and explained my situation to my service advisor Riley. He new I was stranded but they were booked solid till Wednesday. He called me later Monday afternoon and they squeezed me in. Unfortunately the repair parts are on backorder but he got it in and diagnosed that day. Great service and outstanding customer support.
Dont let them full you gave them a chance will take it to a dealership that has respect for who my grandpa was! The didnt not want to fix problem when I gave them choice! So I took it to someone I trust!

I had a terrible experience. My girlfriend went in to get vehicle appraised recently and the manager Don came and gave her a really low appraisal and laughed and said that you need even after I offered 1000-1500 down, he replied atleast 2000-3000 down to get a vehicle. After he walked away and gave me my keys I heard a few salesman laugh and refer to my family as tire kickers when all I was trying to do was get advice on how to improve my credit position. I thought that I could take them on their word that they are their to help me but In reality don said that my vehicle isn’t worth the trade in price that he offered me in the first place . Extremely disgusted and unhappy with how I was treated. Buyers beware if you want to go to a car lot don’t go to one where the manager treats you so poorly. I can’t believe he is even running the sales department . I can only imagine that the sales are really low due to this mans lack of accountability and leadership skills. I will be going to Don Tester ford.

Left me waiting one hour in waiting room after truck was finished and couldnt put the new oil sticker on.
I waited until just before 3:00 to check in hoping they wouldnt be as busy then. They got me in promptly and I didnt have a long wait while they serviced my Escape. They installed new lug nuts which is what they had told me they would have to do this time. The man at the desk went over what they had done and I was out of there in less than an hour. Paid over $50 for a oil change.When I left the dealership my oil was hot and thought maybe it just needs to get broken in.2 days later after putting over 100 miles on my truck it still runs hot and decided to drain a small bit of oil and sure enough they use the cheap oil. Never will come back

Took my Ford Fusion in for some recall work. They were very efficient in getting the work order written up. Had to keep my vehicle for a day for the type of work required, so they offered me a free shuttle service to my home. When the vehicle was ready the next day (at the time promised), they came and picked me up as well! Will consider them for any work I need done in the future based on my recent experience. I had a recall done on My Lincoln Continental that required them to disassemble all the door panels to replace all the door latches. So I was concerned about what My car might look like when it was done. But the technician did a great job and everything works great and they gave me a car to drive while mine was being worked on.

TERRIBLE SERVICE!!! Took 3 weeks to get simple fix done on our truck. 5 DIFFERENT promise for pick up time & every time it was time to pick up,we got a call that they had to do something else. When we finally picked it up,it ended up being 2 THOUSAND dollars more than they quoted us!!! Never again! STRONGLY suggest anyone considering coming here ... DONT!
