The Brown Jug was a delightful experience for the pizza, ambience, service and drinks. We got the fungi pizza, cape cod blonde and Pinot noir which were all exceptional. The al fresco dining area was quiet, clean and exactly what we wanted. Overall an A+ experience and highly recommended!

We went in earlier in the day and wanted to buy some prosciutto, cheese, and baked good but had other sites to see and didn’t want to leave the stuff in the car but the manager told me that they’d be open til 9. We showed up a little after 8 and they were closed! They still had people out on the patio being served wine but wouldn’t let us in to buy anything. Hospitality is obviously a southern only thing. Won’t be stopping by that shop ever again. Love the little inn and restaurant down the street but this place is aweful!

Just picked up a pizza ordered over the phone. Very dissatisfied. It was dry and felt like it was old, reheated pizza. Definitely not what we used to get at the Brown Jug.

This a favorite of mine. Inside is a wine and cheese shop with sandwiches for lunch. Outside, seasonally, are fantastic wood fired pizzas cooked to order and a wine bar. The beautiful patio has several sections and is dog friendly. A totally unique visit with wonderful staff and owners.

Their pizza is A M A Z I N G. Dang. Oh wow. Its CT style, very thin, crisp in places but not too much, and oh dang. their toppings. Soooo good. I think their sausage and red pepper is my absolute favorite, but I also very much liked their veggie, their margarita, and their plain. You cant go wrong, get anything!Also, the shop itself is very charming. The owners are friendly, really made us feel at home. I bought a six-pack of their house ginger beer (also highly recommend!!) and it was their last. They offered to order me a case if I wanted more. And they have fresh Iggys bread deliveries every day! You really cant go wrong with this amazing treasure of a store.

This spot is such a gem! We stopped in to take a pizza to go, and stayed to eat because it’s just so lovely. The shop is filled with all the things you’d need for a fabulous wine and cheese outing - they have all the right provisions and lots of creative ones too. Out back there is a lovely terrace area where you can eat a freshly made and delicious pizza (socially distanced) while enjoying the aromas from the outdoor pizza oven. As if that’s not enough, just down the stairs is a hidden bar area with a great wine selection and cocktails for you to enjoy as you bask in the positive energy the whole place offers. It’s like a secret garden of fabulous. The owner was beyond welcoming, and the entire staff was helpful and kind. The best part for me and my hubby was they have a delicious gluten free crust!!! What a win!

I wish I could remember to take pictures because this place is just too stinkin cute. I dont know where to start. Super friendly staff, delicious food, and they have a wood fired pizza oven. We were able to get a few vegan options, which frankly, was why we chose the place. Theres also a small market for quality food items like pastas, salts, and olives. They have a great little wine shop and outdoor seating for eating in a beautiful little garden with an outdoor bar area. I highly recommend the Brown Jug if youre in or around Sandwich, Mass.

Called ahead to grab some pizzas for the beach and the gentleman who answered the phone was sweet and cheerful. The funghi pizza was outstanding! If Id done my research, I wouldve taken advantage of their wine selection instead of smuggling my own. My husband picked up the order and spoke highly of the service and charm of the space. We look forward to many return visits.

One of the loveliest and most fun places I went to on the Cape. A small deli store and café that also sells sandwiches, self made pizza and a delightful variety of beers. The small patio eating area is cosy and we had a great evening with wonderful food, beer and chatting with the guests as well as the owner. Absolut gem of a café!

Sandwiches are outstanding...... havent tried the pizza yet. They are very knowledgeable about the wine. Not sure if they still offer a picnic basket. My wife and I had them put it together, totally worth it.

Nice place with average assortment of sandwiches but very good quality. Pizza is also not bad, better than average. Coffee is not bad but they still to get better in that department. The bad thing is that place does not have air conditioning. For food serving place a bit unusual. Patio with tables is nice touch but I strongly suggest that owner invest in nice pergola instead of having sun umbrellas... What if rains and you have people eating pizza on patio? Build a pergola with rainproof fabric under and here you go... Small investment on longer run...

It was a cool place for food and bakery cakes and exotic food but dont go there for coffee! Of all things they dont really have coffee just expresso. Neat place though

The gourmet sandwiches for lunch/ dinner are great. The pizza is the best! Order early as they sell out. Expect 1-2 hour cook time for take out. It is worth the wait. We have it every Friday !!

First time stopping at the Brown Jug. The pizza was delicious out of the wood fired oven. The outside eating area was a little crowded but an overall enjoyable experience.

Excellent wood fired pizza. Interesting combinations of veggies but regular standbys available. Very pleasant to sit on their stone patio, share a pizza, and sip wine.

The Brown Jug is such a quaint and rustic looking store. The staff is so kind, and happy everytime I go in there. I love the dainty inside and the wide variety of unique foods and snacks. I definitely would recommend this for a quick bite to eat, and a nice sit down lunch.

This specialty store/restaurant is the essence of what makes small town America great. The owners are always friendly, the food is amazing and the wine selection is superb. A note on the food- to go food is a tricky thing to get right. If you put the wrong ingredients in a salad or if you layer a sandwich in the wrong manner, it makes for a soggy sandwich. The brown jug knows what ingredients to put AND where to put them. It might sound silly, but its really important. Oh and their pizza is to die for. Thank you Brown Jug, you are my familys favorite thing about Sandwich.

Another fantastic pizza evening with the family always spot on and Ghee answered all of the kids questions about pizza making.....

The paté was rotten. The quiche was nuked and soggy. The female bartender did not know how to make a margherita, so she was moved to the cash register. She refunded the paté but neglected to refund the tax that I was charged. I didnt care at this point since my friend was seated, alone, for 20 minutes while I waited to be cashed out, then waited again to be refunded. When I got to the table, my companion had already eaten, alone because no one was cashing me out. I ordered coffee, but they had broken down the machine at 6:30. Theyre open until 10. Terrible conception. What could have been a great spot turned into a sour experience. The outdoor patio was lovely as were the gardens. I really wanted to love the place. They need to reconsider the current system of making patrons order and pay for food inside (its crazily unorganized) and go to an outside shack to order drinks.

My girlfriend and I had a very aquard experience at this establishment. We arrived in the evening excited to sit outside in their beautiful garden and eat the pizza that smelled so nice in the air. Upon arrival it was challenging to determine where one should go to enter the garden. Was it through the gate or through the front door? We chose the front door. We were not greeted so we found someone and asked how to go about dining out side. He quickly said you order inside. Then he left the building. We were alone inside looking over the menu. No one to be seen to order inside we looked behind multiple counters, around corners, hollered a couple times then as we were about to find the host? He came back and asked us if were ready to order. We do. 🏵️ Now it gets more interesting!! He walks us outside points to a table for TWO that has ONE chair and says you can sit there!....if you want another chair you can take that one, he points to a metal chair thats against the building. Then he leaves agian. 🤔 IF I want another chair!? Am I suppose to stand lol. So I pick up this heavy chair and bring it to our table. When the pizza arrives he asks us IF we want plates and silverware lol. Um yes please. Hahaha. We were never offerd water either! Then to really to top it all off, I bit into the cheese pizza and got a mouth full of salt. Some heavy handed individual had bathed the pizza in salt and corse cracked pepper. GAG! I waved the man down and told him we were all set and to have A good evening! So sad. Will not be back!

In this place it is very nice, you will find many Italian products, I dont recommend pizza! Good sandwiches! Unfortunately the staff are obnoxious!
