It is right next to the airports ding strip and you can watch planes coming in and taking off! Great displays of the different war time heroes from past wars. A must see!!!

This museum is very cool! Its completely indoors, so the wind, heat and rain are no issue when visiting. They change out displays every few months so there is something new to see all the time. They have a kid interactive area where there are some cars and a plane that the kids can climb into and have fun. They have a huge selection of planes inside of this hangar. It is amazing! The staff are very knowledgeable and they will take you around on a tour as well. The prices are very reasonable. I really like that school groups are FREE to attend! The museum is tucked away, so be sure to take the service road all they way to the back. You will not be disappointed.

Overall a great educational experience: The atmosphere invites your imagination to relieve history. Guides are a pleasure to listen to: I say it for myself and from observing a 10-12 YO listen attentively to his guide. My 8YO loved the museum. The place is impecable and every detail is considered. I wish could have stayed the whole day.

Amazing experience♡♡♡Friendly staff (seriously really good customer service), airplanes and cars in excellent conditions (Actually, I think is highly import to emphasize that nowadays this planes STILL flying on air faires and random expositions during the year), they play a movie (black&white long version) about strategies and US airport bases during WW2 (in their own and unique theater inside the museum for the same price), also I find out that you can request a private fly for about 200$ or 300$ an hour. Dudee!! that is freaking awsome!!! Plenty to watch and learn if you are really into Airfield or WW2 like me. Please come by early!! Dont make my mistake of getting there noon because they close at 4pm, so I did not finish to look at everything. I fall in love with the museum♡ I will be back for sure!!♡♡♡.

Talk about living history! The beautifully restored planes, vehicles and artifacts are up close and personal allowing you to feel a connection with the people that flew them. There’s lots of informational postings as well. If that’s not enough the docents are a trove of living history as many flew the very aircrafts on display.

The Lyon Air Museum exhibits mainly World War 2 era aircraft and vehicles along with memorabilia from the War era. When I was there they also had a Helms Bakery truck that bought back sweet childhood memories. There were also several Porsches on display. I was impressed by the B17 Flying Fortress and an American Airlines DC 3. They are both magnificently restored. There are helpful, knowledgeable docents who are happy to answer questions or, in case, toot the whistle in the Helms truck and bring back memories of happy days.

I decided to check this place out when I kept seeing WW2 planes fly around my work area. The museum has a lot of history. If you love planes you definitely need to check this place out. I signed up to fly on the B-24 AKA Witchcraft. It was expensive but well worth it. I got to see parts of Orange County, and Long Beach that not many get to see. The pilots were amazing, professional, and very friendly. I have a higher respect for the troops of WW2. The planes have a lot of history. Its amazing its still in very good shape when it was built in 1939. The mechanics take very good care of the planes. I highly recommend flying on the planes if you have the money to do so. It is pricey. However if you add the cost of plane fuel, the maintenance of the craft, plus the flight paths. Its pretty fair. Im definitely going to check out the other planes once the event goes on again. Its a life time experience that you simply can not pass up. This is also coming from someone thats afraid of heights.
