Absolutely terrible. Suppose to be show room for KLAMATH BOATS and was just a messy repair place and not even ANYONE to try and help you out. Sorry we made the LONG drive there
Been client of Trade Wind Inflatable ever since owned my first boat. Being first time boat owner(pre owned boat), needed to find trust worthy, quality and dependable service mechanic to repower the boat. And to service as well as routine maintenance. Got introduced to Trade Wind Inflatable from Newport Yacht club and Bay club members. Owner, Ken, personally engages and checks all aspects of service. Whenever out in ocean, boat has been reliable and very dependable. Ken stands by all the service performed by each mechanics and takes his time to answers all questions. He help guided in many choices and saved me from making unnecessary purchases. When out in deep waters, having a boat maintained and serviced by trust worthy mechanics is must. Would highly recommend this establishment
I cant say i had an at all good experience here. Took my boat in and you can tell Ken didnt want to work on the boat. He had one of his guys go ahead and work on it. I went ahead and stood by and he didnt know what to do. Ken would instruct him..so he went ahead and all of a sudden says we need a valve job and this worker didnt know how to do it. We waited 2 hours so he can ask ken if he did it right. Ken said go ahead and close it up and the worker did..we started the motor and all there was is a CLANK CLANK CLANK that was not there before. Ken then instructing me that i need new heads or even a motor. I took the boat home and worked on the valves and did the work that i had taken it there for the first place..Motor is running perfect!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE
Ken is the man! Can is very honest and all about matching the proper equipment to the customers needs. Ive been dealing with trade winds and can for a long time over 20 years never had a bad experience. Can is a wealth of information if you come here you will not be disappointed.
Very Dissatisfied. My friend told me about a 21 aluminum boat that was parked in their lot out front. I went by after work around 8pm and was in the area to look at the boat. I did not get near any boats or within reach of any of them, I just stood on the grass out front to get a size refrence to see if it would be something I was interested in. Sadly, within 5 minutes a strange man parked across the street and harrased me for standing on private property, so I stepped off the grass onto the street to view the boat. He continues to harass me by yelling and shining his headlights on me and even threatening to call police!?!? When I calmy and politely told him we were just checking out the boats and mean no harm, (now standing on public property,) he still was being very unprofessional. He claims to watch over the place but in reality ruined my night and made them lose a potential client. In my opinion, to earn someones business there must be respect for the customer, most unfortunately, in this case there was not.
These guys recently saved my fishing trip to Havasu with my old man. The fuel pump went out in our Yamaha 15 hp and o one could get it for 1-2 weeks. Trade winds made it happen in 2 days at a better price!! I wouldn’t do business anywhere else!
I called these guys for an estimate on my inflatable RIB 2 weeks ago. I needed some tape repiar work done on it . Light and easy. A lady answered the phone . She wouldnt and couldnt even give me an estimate for taping 4 ft of seam tape for my boat. She made me take pics and email it to the owner . I did and never got a call back. Then I call a day later and she says he is out of town at a boat show. Lol... then why not tell me that earlier you make me do all this work and then make me wait when he is not even going to be there and wont be back anytime soon. I called another shop. They gave me all the info and linked me to a good source.. I did all the work myself.
I left SF for LA to buy a dingy, and I was not returning till I had a dinghy on the back of my truck, went in to Trade Wind on Sat, big selection of dinghys, got to meet Ken that showed me my choice, he then got me a trailer and had his guys prep the dinghy and trailer, he new we were staying at a hotel, so arranged to do the Sea trial on Sunday, normally they are closed, Mat made the whole process very easy, he absolutely gets things done, made the whole experience really easy.Sunday afternoon I was on my way back to SF.Definitely recommend this location if youre looking for a RIB.
Just popped in around high noon on Saturday and everyone seemed busy. Got right on my difficult item and actually had 3. The price was right. Offered to exchange if any problems and came up with a very tempting offer on a newer boat. That I inquired upon!
Excellent. The advise and counsel you get here is second to none! I live half way between San Diego and Orange County. I called Dinghy Doctor in SD three days ago and no response yet. One call to Trade Wind and I had Kevin on the line with great insight and advise!!!! Great service, advise, quality and prices. No comparison.....FIVE STARS!!!!
Ed, Ken and Jim did a great job selling and installing my new inflatable dinghy. I bought an Achilles 280 LX with a 9.9 Yamaha.Glad I decided to buy from these guys! I shopped every dealer in Orange County. Dont waste your time. This is your best choice.
AJ in the Parts Department was extremely helpful. He made sure I got every item needed to repair my Honda outboard. Many thanks. Will definitely return when I need more parts or service.
I don’t know if they need any more business because they are packed with rubber boats! However they are professional, transparent and honest. Would highly recommend!
Poor service- never returned phone calls or emails. I ended up buying a Highfield Dinghy from another dealer after much frustration. Never experienced anything like this before. Not really poor service... No service at all. Cant imagine what it would be like if you had a problem.
Very nice people to deal with sometimes a little disorganized and forgetful but always ready to accommodate a client request. The parking is a nightmare and the forecourt a real mess full of wrecked boats but in the end all is well and one comes out with a smile.
Kenny is very informative and will NOT charge for unnecessary repairs!
Someone stabbed the front of my 10 ft center console avon dingy. I took it home and to make matters worse the heat expanded the side tube and blew it apart. I ended up with a foot long seam tear. I thought for sure it was destroyed. I tried fixing it with no luck. I emailed Tradewinds and John said bring it in. Bill then called to send me pictures he wanted to make sure I knew what they were dealing with. I said yes can you fix it he said he would do there best. Well there best was way more than I expected. Cost was very low I expected more but quality was out of this world. When I came to pick it up they had detailed not just the outside but under the seats and everything. I could not even believe it was the same boat. Bill was so helpful and friendly. This place is on the top of my list. My wife who thought the boat was now wasted is so very happy. Happy wife happy life. Thanks guys your the best.
Great staff! Very informative and fair price.
I brought my outboard and it took them two months to replace the water pump they never called me back I constantly had to be on top of them even though and I would call in a young lady would take my phone number down take and call me back... I never got a phone call theres other places out there and I need to start looking.
