Bread wasnt fresh. Meat quality was average and the sandwiches were just boring, especially for the price.

Love Cantwells. A lot of specialty items like organic body cream, chocolate, chips, etc. Not hardly any veggies. But they have a killer deli to get hot or cold items that you can eat at the market. They have something called Nitro Coffee on tap & I dont drink alcohol but they had wines of the month along with a lot more alcohol. The cashier was very nice & courteous.

Grabbed a breakfast burrito from here this morning. Reminded me of breakfast burritos I used to get in Alamogordo, NM 21 years ago from a gas station (the BEST), just perfect. Tightly packed, doesn’t explode in juices all over you, tasty! Will be back!

I like coming here to get a quick snack! The prices are high but the food is always fresh! Friendly service!

Great little market with a gourmet deli and vast wine selection.

The salads here are very good, though expensive. And considering how much they cost one would think the salads would be consistently well made. Theyre not. One time, my salad had no dressing. Another time, all of the lettuce leaves were full size -- apparently the worker responsible for ripping up the lettuce didnt bother doing his job.

This is my favorite corner store! Theyve got great prepared foods, a really inexpensive coffee bar, and a huge drink selection. The groceries are a little on the expensive side and the selection isnt huge but theyre great in a pinch if I dont feel like going to a larger grocery store.

Love the variety of high end goods. The owners and employees are super nice. Its not cheap but I dont mind paying a little more for quality and service

Advertised as a gourmet wine and cheese market, but the place is quite sad. Terrible selection of items, no fruit, sad cheese selection, and crazy prices. I hate to say it, but just go out of your way to ‘Whole Paycheck’.

Clean friendly staff and huge selection

Older corner convenience store with a friend staff and great selection of healthier food choices. Theres a deli (didnt try it out) and booths to sit and enjoy lunch and coffee alone or with a friend. There are prepared sandwiches and salads that looked nice. I wanted fresh produce. They didnt have lettuce or broccoli out front. But staff found some older specimens in the back. Its unfortunate there arent enough customers buying fresh produce, or I bet they would carry more.

Sandwiches are made fresh and good. The deli crew is always friendly and fast. The market has some essentials and a pretty good selection of other items. Theres a good selection of take-and-eat premade sandwiches, salads, and other deli foods.

Been coming here so many years, love it. Mornings for coffee and breakfast burritos, and later in the evening for snacks, tea, beer and wine. Awesome.

It was clean and busy, I was already anticipating the deli to be busy since it was lunch time. I however was looking for a more traditional spot, with staff that would be able and willing to help a newbie customer acquire some in person knowledge on the whats what around their business. ~ 20mins in & still waiting to order!! I ended up leaving empty handed.

Wines, beer and liquor along with other soda, bottled teas and specialty drinks in cans / bottles.Outdoor seating and some booths inside for seating.I have dined here several times for lunch and would definitely go back to try breakfast.

Its a hit or miss with the food quality. But when you get it good it is great. Also never expect to pay what you think. The prices listed are not accurate. Sometimes you can get the pancake combo for the combo price other times it all separated. Varying from 9 - 15 for that. The burrito is a better choice and big enough to share.

Convenient location and has some products that are hard to find elsewhere. A little expensive.

Its okay, just not worth a trip out of your way to go to. Salad I had (Tandori chicken?) was a lot of lettuce and not much else. Their deli salads r okay, but nothing special. Market items are limited and pricey. U pay for the convenience. I love the idea of a small, locally owned market...just wish after all these years they could really provide something unique.

Very nice selection of gourmet products. Had very good soup on some days, a bit of a gamble on other days. New chef somewhat lower grade then expected, I noticed a bit untidy method and results few times. Convenient location.

Freaking amazing sandwiches! I recommend the Italian Stallion. But go early though, as they run out of some of the more popular bread choices. If you can get the Dutch crunch bread, you will NOT regret it! Its moderately pricey for a deli sandwich (somewhere around $10, maybe a little more if you add extra things) but its worth it!

I originally went in for a breakfast burrito, then saw they had green chicken pazole, yumm my favorite. I couldnt wait to eat it, when I did it was everything I wanted and more!

Cantwells is one of my favorite places here. They always have interesting salads you cant find anywhere else. Sandwiches are delicious, made just like you would at home, only with a zillion more choices. Soups are excellent as well.

Cantwells is an interesting place that I personally appreciate on many levels, but Ill split this review into two parts: rating the market aspect, and rating the deli aspect. First up; the market (3 stars). The market is great if you are staying at one of the hotels within 300 feet, and dont care about the sticker prices, or if you are a local, and need a cooking ingredient or something as soon as possible. Youll pay 75% more than Ralphs, which is five blocks away for the convenience. Im rather surprised that 50% of the market space hasnt yet been ditched for expanding the more grab-and-go/breakfast/lunch items. The day-old, half-off, in-house-prepared-and-packaged foods, as well as the Santitas tortilla chips are the best buys. The wine selection is excellent, and fairly priced, but the beer selection and pricing leaves a little to be desired. However, the deli (five stars) is fantastic, even though it is a little more expensive than other places. The deli staff is very helpful and friendly, and the wide-ranging food ingredients are usually locally-sourced, fresh, and/or organic, which is a huge plus. The deli portion sizes are good for the price, and they do a Taco Tuesday, too. Seating areas inside and outside exist, but I prefer the indoor seating, as the external seating is essentially in the ample parking lot. In short, they pack a lot of good food products and options here, is convenient, very well-run, but the market pricing is prohibitive.

Good service and friendly. I loved the gobbler sandwich! They have gluten free bread, but it comes packaged and pre-sliced, is smaller than the normal bread, and costs extra. They were apologetic about it to me, but as a gluten intolerant person, this happens a lot. I didnt mind it at all.

This family owned grocery store has been around forever, while they have many specially items, thing tends to be a bit more on the pricy side. A fantastic deli where things are made fresh. And a pretty decent wine selection!

Terrible customer service. One is supposed to know their confusing formats for food ordering. Also it is too pricey for a quick bite. The only reason I gave 1 star is because it was clean, but I would look anywhere else in town.

Expensive equivalent of a bodega deli in downtown Santa Barbara. Plenty of amazing deli food, vegetarian and vegan-friendly groceries and cooking supplies. A great stop before a beach picnic.

Some workers that come out of the kitchen area are real lowdowns... it would be preferable not to have them in the dining area...if some of them act vile there is probably not enough supervision or wrong recruiting.
