Steven is so knowledgeable and the best! I wanted a clutch to attend an event and also wanted it to fit my every day needs afterwards so I went with the foldover wallet. Steven helped me add a strap to the foldover wallet to match the clutch style I wanted. It fits my credit cards, phone and other necessities that I can easily bring with me. This is not a review of anything related to leather which is pretty odd considering the focus of the store. I was looking for a fantastic beard oil since I decided that at 52 a beard was exactly what was necessary :)Being so dry recently it became obvious that a normal routine was not going to cut it and went in search of something local, not filled with chemicals and had a unique quality about it.Ive walked by this store a bunch of times and always wanted to stop in but never did. When a search for beard oil turned up Make Smith as a result I knew it was the place. Called and verified that it was in stock and rode over to pick up a bottle.The Spanish Whip beard oil/cologne is amazing. Smells fantastic, adds some non-greasy and much needed moisture and smells like you would expect coming from a leather shop. Not too much musky and enough floral to keep it light.Im coming back for more!!

I had a purse custom made by them- not flexing, but those who know- know. Having the pockets I want, the closure I prefer and a place to hook my keys makes life easier.My husband and I both have the business card cases with our initials on them. Its not just saddles and wallets at this shop in the Santa Barbara Presidio area. These beautiful leather goods are handcrafted on site, using American cowhide from domestic meat packing plants. You can even find leather guitar straps and have your initials embossed!
