Paid for an oil change and wheel alignment; which didnt seem complete. Front and rear Camber were uneven, but were not adjusted. Only Toe appeared to have been adjusted (see tables in photo). Despite some visual excessive wear on inside edge of left rear tire, excessive negative camber wasnt adjusted (see rear left table). Any explanation for this was not provided. This made me question whether the oil was actually changed.Update: I submitted a complaint through the Big O national website that included my invoice #. I then received a contentious voicemail from a manager at the 1219 Soquel Ave location who made it clear that he hadnt looked at my invoice, as he didnt know my last name, my vehicle make and model, or what alignment adjustments were made. Despite this, he stated that, in some vehicles we are limited in how many adjustments we can do...but whatever we did adjust, we adjusted to the best of what your car can be done with. He also stated that they do honorable work and an oil change was done.I then took my vehicle to Lloyds Mid-Town Tires (AKA Tire Choice) in Scotts Valley. Right off the bat they seemed more knowledgeable about alignment and reviewed the printout of what was done at Big O. They confirmed that it appeared that there were adjustments that should have been made, but were not. They checked the alignment and declared that it was out of whack--though I might have hit a pothole--and that adjustments could be made. I did learn that the rear camber could only be improved by replacing my old suspension components.I called Big O and explained the situation to Kyle, who was friendly and understanding. He agreed that it would be better to figure out a resolution that didnt leave me dissatisfied with my experience. He told me to bring in the alignment spec sheet from Lloyds and that he would review it.After my 2nd alignment was done, I reviewed it all with Kyle, who unfortunately only had second hand information and spec sheets that I provided. After discussing it all with him, I honestly couldnt tell if either shop hadnt done a proper job. Regardless, Kyle was kind enough to offer a free oil change, which I accepted.

We had a nail in the tire with a fast leak and they took great care of us! Got us in and out and we’re extremely friendly and nice! I would take our car here again!

My back tire had lost its weight which resulted in my car being very hard to handle. I called them right before they closed. I needed to have my car this weekend to care for my parents. They told me to come in and they fixed my tire on the spot! They stayed late on a Saturday to get me back on the road! Incredible customer service. 5 stars isnt enough!

They USED to be the team I trust. I hate to say it, but my last visit with these guys will probably be my last after almost 20 years of letting them handle all my familys tire needs.Recently, as of April 2021, I brought my truck in for an alignment, rotation and balance. Should have been a simple alignment, seeing as they only had to fiddle with the front. I had it pretty close myself doing it at home after a suspension upgrade, but the camber and caster are definitely hard if not impossible to get right at home without the fancy machine.Needless to say, the truck came out worse than it was, now with a heavy drag to the right. In addition to that, the steering wheel now had a new heavy wobble/shake at 45+mph. Then to top it off, when I double checked the air in my tires, ALL the tire valve caps were loose, all but the last one I checked....well it wasnt loose because it WASNT THERE!!! I wouldnt care too much about the tire caps except for the fact they were some fancy TRD Anodized caps.So I decided to get under the beast and scope out the front tires hoping to see why the hell there was a bad shake at highway speeds....well it just so happened that my front right wheel had absolutely ZERO weights on it!!! Ive seen improperly balanced wheels before but sheeeesh. I then had to check if they even got rotated. Thankfully they did, as I could tell by the tire wear.All in all, this was probably the 5th time in a row they have failed me and left me FAR from satisfied. They used to be good and trustworthy, but their service has definitely gone downhill BIG O TIME! I used to recommend these guys, now I recommend to NOT take your vehicle here.Oh and they always seem to sell you brand new tires that have defects and have been sitting on the shelf for WAY too long....just my 2 centz.

**READ THIS WARNING** My BRAKES went out going 60mph on the highway after this Big O worked on my wheels. I brought it back, they test drove it ONCE and told me “sorry, we can’t figure it out” and then asked me to leave after I started asking questions about my vehicle. Let me repeat, I LOST ALL BRAKE CONTROL on the highway!!! OMFG do NOT get any work done here! or at least purchase life insurance before you do.

I went to get my tires aligned and rotated, they told me it would take about an hour and a half. After 2 hours I asked them if it was almost done and they said it shouldnt be much longer. Fast forward 2 and a half more hours later and im finally getting my car back. They never gave me a heads up to what was happening or why, no update at all. If I had known I would have just had a friend come grab me. They provide decent enough service but if I can i am going to avoid coming here again

I’m a travel nurse and new to the area and saw Big O had good reviews. My gf’s Mazda got a flat and needed all new tires. I worked with Chris there and honestly best experience I’ve ever had with my car. Super fast, honest and just extremely nice crew. Even though I’m new here I felt like a valued customer whos been here for years. Took my truck in when I needed a patch and they took care of it in no time. Couldn’t recommend this place enough, tell you honest opinion on what you need and no pressure sales with amazing work and fast turnaround.

Been bringing all our personal and company vehicles here for decades, I personally would never go anywhere else in Santa Cruz for my tire and brake needs.

Worst experience with customer service Ive ever gone through. After being called stupid by the shop owner, they refused to honor the warranty for two week old tires. Instead they took advantage of a young person struggling to survive through this pandemic. Half the employees in the shop were not wearing masks even though there is a mandatory mask sign on the door! This is the third set of tires Ive bought from Bib O and they are the last!!!Never going back again.

You might have to wait a bit but the staff is great and prices are very solid.

The suspension they installed failed prematurely, and they refuse to tell me what parts they used in my vehicle. Big O does not stand by their work and wont even put in the effort to keep a record of what parts they put in your vehicle, making it difficult to warranty the parts if they fail prematurely. I would recommend going elsewhere for mechanical work.

They were super friendly and helpful here. My tire delaminated and I limped my car to their store. It turned out they didnt have the right size for my SUV, but the man at the desk came out at looked at it right away, found the problem and recommended places to try to find the right size tire. If he hasnt found the spot in the inner rim that had come apart, I might have been stupid and tried to get home on it as is. Thanks for the help!

Pleasantly surprised overall. Everyone knew what they were doing and it was a painless experience. I have a Porsche 911 Turbo, so am a little fussy about alignment etc. The alignment guy was spot on and the car now drives like a dream. Their tyre prices were also respectable. I would recommend this place.

I have been going to the Soquel Ave Big O for all my oil change and tire needs for years now. I always feel that I am being treated fairly and with respect. I have never had a bad experience and everyone I have interacted with has been really kind. One of the employees even noticed I had windshield wipers on my seat that I had bought a couple weeks prior and offered to put them on for me. Cant recommend this place enough, Im going in next week to get a new set of tires!

Descent tire shop, has good sales on tries most of the time! And when i went there with a daily hole in my tire, they made good on my tire protection plan and gave me a free tire! I still had to pay for the alignment, bit $40 is a lot better than 100!

I needed 4 new tires for my Subaru Outback. I wanted smooth road huggers to feel very safe and secure, even on hway 17 or on wet windy mountain roads. I did my research after asking for recommendations on the next door neighborhood forum. I called each of the places suggested and asked them to recommend a tire that would feel like the ones I was used to, since mine were discontinued.I got different prices but similar recommendations, so how to choose?I chose Big O-- why?1. Best price of all, both on the tires and the alignment.2. They are a privately owned shop, mom and pop shop3. There are Big O branches all over, so I would be covered if I got a flat away home.4. Dropped car off at 830 AM to get oil changed. They said two new tires were needed. Told them OK but had to be at work by 12. They said not a problem. Called at 10AM to remind them car was needed to go to work, they said OK. Got there at 11:45 and they just started working on it.Basically they will say whatever to get your business. No integrity, just another auto shop looking to rip you off

I have been taking my cars here for a few years now, they are just good, plain and simple. These guys dont say no, we cant do that for you and make up some excuse as to why they cant do it. Instead they just do the job and they do it right.

We have been taking all of our cars here for years. The service is top-notch, we are usually offered several options regarding repair and service. The employees are very very willing to work with us to get the best price possible. And by the way theyre not just for tires anymore. Big O offers a wide variety of car service and maintenance options.

We had a screw stuck in the tread of our travel trailer tire and they repaired it right away at no charge. When our tires need replacing we will aurely be back

Ive had pretty positive experiences overall. Bought a set of tires for my work van a couple of years ago on a BOGO promotion and have had occasional need of flat repair (at a different store from where I bought the tires) and have paid NOTHING! Have also used them for other minor service (oil change). Honest service, and they dont try to sell you things you dont need. Good selection of products from value to premium.Only downsides: theres usually a wait, and Im not sure how competitive they try to be on major stuff. They quoted me a total of about $2100 for front and rear brakes (E250 Superduty). I ended up getting them done for about $1700 at an independent shop and that price included a substantial amount of additional work. Im likely to stick to buying tires when I can get a good deal

This place saved me hundreds of dollars that the dealer was going to charge me and able to see me the same day. All the employees are always nice and helpful. Which is rare. Great service and great customer service. This place is a Gem.

I recently went in to Big O Tires after a big rain and noticing that my traction was terrible. I knew I needed tires and had been avoiding it due to cost of 4 new tires on a 4Runner. The gentleman Hunter assisted me, we discussed my budget and he got me in and out the same afternoon with 4 good solid new tires under my budget. My car now rides incredible and I will always go back there for all my automotive needs.

Weve been buying tires here for over 20 years, but no more. The no appointment policy makes their tire warranty meaningless. Who can afford to wait 2 hours for a free tire repair? Weve had two estimates for service work here that were way more expensive than other shops. One was for a rack and one for brakes. In each case we went to other reputable locals shops and had the work done for about half the price quoted by Big O.

They go the extra mile to make you happy. I bought four new tires at a great price, had two of them cut by some wacko. Big O gave me a discount on the two. Had one of them cut the same week. They gave me a replacement at half price. Great deals and service. They replaced the front steering arms to cure a shimmy problem. It didnt fix it so they didnt charge me. It is the only place I go for tires, breaks, and suspension service

My left front wheel or should I say rim was broken two weeks ago. One guy at Doc Auto recommended me BigO Tire so I came here. Juan received me. Since I’m an international student from China, my English isn’t so native that I had to ask Juan to explain everything slowly for me. He was so patient and kind. He explained everything and taught me even more about tire and wheel stuff. I decided to change the whole set of wheels here and do tire alignment as well. The wheels arrived next day since I was lucky enough to order them in time. It only took them less than four hours to settle everything down even though I was in the line when I came that day. Ive been going to Big O for years. This time they went well beyond the call of duty. I brought a trailer I had just bought to have the tires and wheels checked. It turns out it needed a complete new set up. They dont carry trailer wheels and tires (which are different than car wheels and tires). Jeff, and especially Mike, told me exactly what I needed to get and where to get it. I brought everything to them and Mike fixed me right up. Awesome service as always!

Stay away! Avoid! Long story that I will post in the future. Just stay away from this shop! If i could give minus stars I would. Just a note.......be really, cautious of a shop that has 2-3 managers in Dockers standing behind the front counter!!! And, a tattooed and shaved head and angry guy as a shop manager!! And a shop that is hesitant to text you! Why? Because you dont want a record of conversations? Hmmm, interesting!! Avoid the big box repair shops with lots of chiefs and not enough Indians!! I plan to file a complaint with the Bureau of Automotive Repair.

Im not the type of person to write a review unless I come across a company that goes above and beyond with customer service and thats exactly what Big O Tires did. My fiance and I were on our way to Santa Cruz when our tire popped on the freeway and we were stuck waiting for the tow truck to arrive. When the tow truck finally arrived (2 hours later) we came across Big O Tires. Since it was the weekend (Saturday), by the time we arrived they were already full and about to close. But instead of turning us away, like any other company would, they helped us out! They took our car in and replaced the bad tire with a new tire. If it wasnt for them, I dont know what we wouldve done since we arent local. Thank you so much to Big O Tires.

Our 1995 Dodge Ram Wagon drives so much better after we had it serviced at Big Os. We came in with a serpentine belt that needed replacing. They offered a free, extensive safety check. Turns out the tires had to be replaced and some other work needed to be done. However they were honest about the things that really had a high priority and the things that did not. They worked quickly (all done in a few hours) at a fair price point. Certainly recommend!

Could Not fix broken shoe laces, While installing wheels they stripped a stud, no big deal could happen to anyone. They stated that it happened while removing the wheel. I looked at the stud and the first three threads were removed obviously done when trying to install lug nut with an impact wrench. Of course it was not mentioned when discovered but after the job was done. I was told to come back on Saturday and they would install the parts for $42. When I returned they removed the front brake caliper and left it hanging by the hose and instead of removing the hub and pressing out the stud the mechanic left the hub on the car and beat the stud off with a five pound hammer. I guess they figured that the wheel bearings could take the abuse. Then I was told that I needed to come back on Monday since they did not have the lug nut and quoted me $150 to do the job. They did replace the stud and sent me on my way with a promise to mail the lug nut to me.. Needless to say I did not Pay them. I drove to California Wheels and they replaced the lug nut for $5. At home I checked the lug nuts on all four wheels 15 out of 20 were not torqued to the 83 foot pounds that they had stated on my receipt they were installed with an impact wrench not a torque wrench.

The positive - I got a next day appointment that I needed because I was planning to head to Tahoe and needed new tires. I talked to what later turned out to be the owner about a tire I saw online, but he gave me a great deal on something they supposedly had in stock.I showed up when the store opened, but no one knew about the deal, so they constructed something that was only a couple of bucks over the original quote. For that price I also had to choose between balancing and the tire protection package - not something discussed over the phone. Maybe standard practice - I dont know.So I got there at 7:30 and turns out the tires werent in stock, and I had to wait and hour and a half until they arrived and for a place in the schedule. Once they were on I watched my car with tires on sit there for an hour waiting for the balance. All in all I was in the waiting room for 4 hours. I did get a good set of tires, properly installed for a good price, so cant complain too much.

I am a repeat client. I seem to find potholes and blow tires on a frequent basis. I have always had great service here.

Hands down the best place to manage a whole host of things related to the tires. They do a fair amount of maintenance, and even replaced a broken overhead light bulb in my car for free. Ive been using BigO for years and at many locations and have never been anything but blown away by their service and professionalism. Their base prices are competitive too. Moreover, their free servicing and tire balancing makes this the cheapest long-term option by far. I couldnt offer a stronger recommendation for BigO Tires.

I have never before posted a review of anything, so the fact that I am doing so now is significant. I had driven from Chicago to SC over Christmas holidays and needed an oil change. Oil change was done promptly, staff friendly. A week later I drove back to Chicago, needed something else looked at. My mechanic of 20 years told me the engine lower cover was missing. He had changed oil just before I left and it was there. I called Big O five times over the next four business days. Long story short: The service manager claimed the under cover had been put back on. I am the only one who drove the car, had not hit anything on road to tear it off The replacement cost me $283.89.

Never had any problem Big O, theyve always been so helpful. I would recommend to anyone who has never been there.

I had a flat tire, one that I had not purchased at BigO. I was waited on in about 5 minutes and had a fixed tire in about an hour. When I pulled out CC to pay, they advised that there was no charge for the fix! Well, beat me with a stick, Ill take that deal any day! Only ding was that they didnt use the floor jack lift point on my car, one that th manufacturer clearly says is the only acceptable lift point as everywhere else has plastic shrouds and will be damaged. They also torque the lug nuts to 90 foot pounds when the manufacturer specifies 76 foot pounds, again cautioning about potential damage to the wheel and brake rotor when over tightened. These two areas seem to be a case of applying a one size fits all approach instead of taking the time/care to match each job for optimum. I will use their services in the future but monitor the process more closely, requesting specifics up front.

Received a quote for new rear brakes and shocks and proceeded to drop off after parts were ordered...the second day they said still waiting on a part...three days later we went to check on progress due to telephones not working! Arriving the car was on the rack and was told it would be done in 30 mins. We received a call the NEXT day SAYING THAT THEY DIDNT PUT ON ONE OF THE SHOCKS!!!! REALLY...????
