The place has sure grown up since I was last here 15 years ago. Its like a mini while Whole Foods with organic stuff and essential oils and such. They still have real food though.
This is my go to store for short grocery list shopping instead of driving 35 minutes to Santa Fe for long list grocery shopping. Grant it we have The General Dollar n Family Dollar stores in our village . But there is no produce or healthy choices. I love El Dorado Supermarket :)
Everything in the produce aisle is rotten. They jacked up prices during covid, on top of already high prices. The deli is hit or miss with mostly misses. The staff is great and very friendly. They should not get a bad reputation for terrible management and ownership.
Small cozy mountain Market experience!♡ They have lots of organic gluten free and vegan goodies!♡
The Eldorado big local groceries. Hot deli to go, cold too. Great vege selection. Large store. No coupons, fresh bakery, pies, bread. Liquor selection good. Hard and wines, beers cold.
So excited to find freshly made sushi.
Deli food made me sickRuined my day today completely. One day a woman cutting meat wouldn’t look at me, didn’t give me what I asked for, slapped it down on counter, ignored a question I had completely :( tossed what I bought didn’t even eat.Took a break from eating there now sick. Done.
Great Deli Bar, stop by for Lunch. Chile Renenos, delicious. Organic meats and cheese and produce available. Pastries of all kinds BEERS and Liquors too. Next stop Peco.
I love this store. It gets badmouthed unfairly and if you go on Monday the produce looks sad. They usually have what I need, including things I havent found elsewhere. Most of the staff are friendly and competent as nearly everywhere. Its not a giant store so selection and stuff city dwellers may desire may not be there. Im just grateful its there. They put out a great deal of effort to keep us in supplies.
It is extremely convenient for those living in Eldorado. but besides the convenience, the store is really quite excellent. they have regular grocery items, but also have a great deal of gourmet and specialty items as well, and their liquor apartment is excellent and reasonably price, especially on sale items. as an added pleasure inconvenience, they have an excellent sushi chef who prepares fresh sushi daily. The workers are extremely friendly, and are taking extra precautions during the pandemic.
I really enjoy this market. Its a throwback in time and also modern enough. They have nice cheese, fresh produce, kombucha, a great & large beer selection, a warm pre-made deli dinner area, great dog food selection, birdseed and New Mexico products! I find while there isnt much staff, they are nice. Masks are required.
Great place to shop. They could have more variety but besides that they have great customer service.
Greetings, same same if you shop there regularly. Prices range from 19-26% higher than in Santa Fe proper. Convince for those that live in the local area, comes at a price. OUTSTANDING STAFF, and Management, very helpful and courteous towards all. I shop regularly there, as well as going to town and getting the remainder of my food shopping done. Stay well during these days, hope this was helpful.
Nice place with good selection.
Sells Food King basics and a wide variety of organic and specialty items. Good fresh meat section. Appreciated in the neighborhood
The grocery store in Eldorado is commonly known as The Agora, but its actually a John Brooks grocer. They have an extensive selection plus lots of organically grown food. Please support this local grocery!
It is ok. Because I am visiting, I found pric es very high.
Everyone is friendly and helpful. Great fresh and frozen choices with a wide range of products. Im so grateful they are here and check out is speedy. Some of their prices are high but I understand its due to their inability to purchase at the lower price due to their size unlike the big chain stores. I highly recommend them and you cant beat the convenience.
Great store! Extremely handy. Only downside is their organic produce is limited.
Convenient and affordable.
Visited Best Daze! Tina is a wonderful Bud tender!! And talk about selection!!
Excellent! Well stocked, plenty of choices, friendly and courteous staff. Best choice easily within 100 miles.
Me. Guy, I shop very often at your store. I appreciate your employees and your range of products. But I need to know that you will make sure that those who do wear a mask will be denied access.
So convenient. Being careful about the virus. Employees always help me.
Great place to go too..
Love the place super clean extremely helpful staff, actually I cant speak highly enough of the staff theyre just awesome people there
Great place to shop! good cashiers...
Fantastic food selection; very friendly and helpful staff.
Wonderful community grocery store. Couldnt believe it- no lines to Chama!!
Extremely overpriced :-/ On the plus side, they had most of what I needed :-)
Great staff nice layout. Very quick to find what you want real quick. They did not have a good variety of plant based alternatives. They could stock more low sodium, No fat, no sweeteners varieties of products, would be most appreciated. I love the experience of shopping there
Good place to stop, and shop...and you can get something good and ready to munch at the deli in the store, everyone is friendly
For being a smaller local store, it has a little bit of everything. Prices are comparable to similar stores in Santa Fe. Staff is always helpful and friendly. Produce selection is good and fresh. Store is always clean and inviting.
If you live in El Dorado community this is a very convenient grocery store. Prices are in line with an Albertsons. Very clean, good selection of food items. They have a small deli area with fresh soups.
Great proximity, really good and convenient selections although a bit overpriced in some areas. I enjoy the staff and find interesting items on their shelves. So nice to have a good grocery store only 15 minutes away. Always happy to shop here ~ Thanks!
Id like to rate this place higher considering that running a smallish grocery store is difficult, but they have trouble communicating one on one with people, and the produce is often past its prime. Admittedly, some of the customer base is pretty self involved and who wouldnt get a little glassy eyed dealing with weird attitudes. That said, some things are reasonably priced, and the out of the way location explains why many items are priced higher. Id give this four stars if the produce were better.
Great place to grocery shop in the Santa Fe area. The store is always clean and the staff is friendly. I always find great sales and the butcher/deli section is awesome. The store has a great selection of Paul Newman products from teas, dog food and organic products. I always find something delicious food as well as household items without going to the big box stores.
Great store you dont have to wait in line for a long time like you do at Smiths or Albertsons where you have very slow cashiers.especially when your in a hurry, employee s are friendly and helpful .😁
Very convenient store for groceries this side of SF. Most groceries of good quality. Lots of deli items are tasty . Saves gas and has many sundries. Makes Eldorado more valuable.
THIS PLACE IS GREAT ONLY ONE COMPLAINT THE CLAM CHOWDER IS TOO SOUPY. CAN YOU MAKE IT A LITTLE THICKER THE FLAVOR IS GREAT BUT TOO CREAMY. THANKS CHEF YOURE AWESOME. 🤠👍
Great people, fresh food.
More there then we thought, the deli was good service good as well thank you
Great little market! Had everything I needed and was easy to get around in. Prices were reasonable and prepared items were fresh.
Im happy to have this store within reach as they have quite a few products stocked which I generally needed to drive into town to obtain. The more you ask if theyd carry a certain product you use regularly, the more theyll try and keep the product stocked for you. Mostly the workers here are kind and supportive but not overly so. Overall, I am thrilled to have this store close and the hours of operation are inviting for all.
I just purchased what I was told was Alaskan cod. It was deep fried and had an appearance of tempura style batter.Well after the first taste nothing could be further from the truth. The batter, though it appeared not over fried, to a bite it had the consistency of an impenetrable crust with no taste. When I reached the fish content, its consistency was without any fish like flesh, just a mushy mouth full.Did I say that there was no discernible taste at all? Even a good dose of salt could not disguise the disappointment.NEVER AGAIN!
Its a nice store
Excellent
Good selection if you need to pick something up fast. However, much more expensive than larger supermarkets. The produce is not as fresh as it should be... greens are wilted and ceggies/fruit wrinkled on several occasions.
Conveniently close to my home. Good pricing, quality, deli, meat and fish counters, shopping here locally saves me gas costs to drive to town 8 miles away.
This store just keeps getting better. Great selection. Reasonable prices. Friendly people. Incredible beer and wine selection.
This store is awesome. Saves me from going into santa fe. The meat selection is great.
Its really pricey there and the selection is not too great...but it works if you need something that a C store doesnt have.
Nice little market with lots of choices.
Great selection for a small grocery store. They must really listen to what the locals are looking for! Checkers are friendly and fast.
Have a great selection of organic produce. Im camping in the area and was able to find everything I needed.
The price of organic milk is just too high! Milk is a major staple for me, and I almost never buy non-organic. I will go without milk and wait until I go to town to buy it, rather than accept the high prices here. Overall, the selection, quality and high price of dairy, produce and most of the other products are not worth the convenience, to me, of having a grocery store in Eldorado. The one thing I consistently buy here is beer- there are some amazing specials on four and six packs, often obscure brands, of micro brews. At the deli, when Ive bought coffee to go, I find the quality and price preferable to that of the local coffee shop and the gas station. I really want this to be a great supermarket! Can it morph into Trader Joes, please?
Super convenient. Polite and friendly staff. Good selection. Hard to beat!
Some organic foods and products available, fresh produce, delicatessen, liquor store, Western Union, etc. Prompt friendly service. Postal Net nearby.
Most always a great experience at John Brookes supermarket here in Eldorado.
Not a large grocery store but they know their communitys likes/needs. Good pre-packaged cheeses and meats for appetizers. Good wine selection/prices. Excellent homemade soups selections changing daily.
The staff abd customers are taking all precautions in this era of Covid-19. Thank you 😍
It is an average food store with plenty of variety - prices are a bit high, produce quality can run below average. In 20 years Ive never had a bad experience. It is really convenient and never too busy, they stay in business by being a bit more expensive.
Remodeled... Carpeted the whole store. Nice, quiet. Convenient for outlying areas. Friendly staff.
Nice clean store. Good selection. Some of the workers could be more friendly. The deli is not as good as it used to be.
Great little market. Was staying outside of Santa Fe and located in a strip mall. Definitely saved me a trip to Santa Fe proper.
Thank goodness for a well kept local grocer....
Its one of the best grocery shopping experiences one can have. The individual dept mgrs and their staff always listen to customers concerns and take appropriate action. Shelves are lined as if little soldiers. .
It has a good selection.
Great selection for a small town grocery store. Super friendly staff. There are a couple of useful things in the same plaza.
Staff could use some polishing. Trader Joes its not.
This is a good local grocery store. It has a good deli and options, such as organic or natural.
Extremely helpful. Great selection. Excellent service! I shop here every time Im camping in Santa Fe.
Sure you pay more, but its worth it. The employees are all very friendly and the selection of products is top notch (especially for a small store). FYI, alcohol and tobacco prices are just as low if not lower that in-town prices.
Nice smaller market.
A nice local supermarket with a pretty nice selection for a small Market. I have not enjoyed any of the prepared foods Ive purchased from the deli, and some of the pricing is extremely high, but it is overall good
Ridiculously expensive $9.00 for cream
Its very convenient for us,since we live in Pecos.. The quality of groceries and produce is fresh, and they have friendly service.
Great local grocery store with good prices and nice people :-)
Customer service and cleanliness is spectacular
It usually has what I need and I appreciate not having to go as far as Santa Fe. The costs are somewhat on the high side. The employees are nice enough and the store is clean.
Best shopping experience fun friendly staff, excellent wine and spirits selection 👍👍
This place is great. Great pork wings in the deli. Great artisan breads.
Good little Store seems to carry a lot of everything and especially Meats
Good selection of breads, veggies, meats and other tasty treats.
Very clean facility helpful staff that are also very friendly the people in the meat department were very helpful and informative items seem a little overpriced but thats probably the price you pay for convenience parked on the far side in the afternoon so the dogs didnt overheat and got out of the car to the putrid smell of sewage I can only assume that their septic had failed being that they are the most convenient place around I will continue to shop there out of necessity
No issues. Well stocked with food stuffs you need as well as a steam table of filling food.
Great local place but out of alot of items today.
I love the convenience and selection. Great local grocery!
I live in Eldorado, about a mile away from the Agora shopping center, so the convenience of having a grocery store close is great. My family and I used to shop at the Eldorado grocery store nearly daily. However, since a specific checker started working there, I now avoid shopping there at all costs. And she didnt disappoint tonight. Im not sure what her name is, but she is tall, thin, and looks to be in her early fifties. Everytime I go in there, she makes it a point to glare at me and my children, so I avoid using her line. Tonight however, my husband and I, did mistakenly go through her checkout, as the other checker had a customer. She rang in our items, glaring at me the entire time. Why, I do not know. I do not know this woman. Ive never been rude to this woman. I cannot for the life of me, understand why she feels the need to treat us this way, and look down on us, every. single. time. we go in there, Well, that is if shes working. Ive never had an issue with the other checkers. My husband is disabled and uses a cane, due to balance and coordination issues, he has as a result of his disability. Maybe she assumes hes drunk? Which, if thats the case, she in her arrogance, has absolutely no right to assume anything about anyone. Or maybe shes just flat rude to everyone. Ive been shopping at this store way too long, to put up with this kind of behavior. Im done.Anyway, I put my card into the chip reader, it wasnt reading it, so she turned it facing herself and said, it wasnt pushed in all the way. And then asked me if I want cash back, I said, I need to put the pin in. (I didnt want it being ran as credit) She very angerly responded with, I havent gotten to that part yet. It was odd to me that she didnt just turn the chip reader back to me, so I could finish the transaction, with my own debut card. For some strange reason, saying, I need to put my pin in, set her off. It made no sense to me. The entire interaction, was her being extremely rude and angry. Her attitude and demeanor is appalling. She has no business working in customer service. Its stinks, that although a resident of Eldorado, I feel the need to drive all the way into Santa Fe to get groceries, due to the anxiety I feel when I walk into that store, with my husband and kids, having her glare at us the entire time Im in there. Shes just awful.
Nice little store . Friendly staff . Clean . No complaints
Nice clean store. Great employees
Awesome little mall has everything you could need 😉
Its convenient to outlying places like Pecos!
Good selection for all your needs
Convenient, but you pay for it. prices are consistently 2+ more than grocers in Santa Fe proper.
The service at your deli counter stinks! I waited several minutes for service while three employees were texting each other on their cell phones. Even a manager(?) was there texting(heavy lady with black hair). They should all be fired!
Deli hot items are old and should be changed out... Is that really chicken?!
Super nice staff. Super expensive.
