I came here when my vehicle had a overheating problem and I was stuck far from home. They told me it was gonna cost me 2.5-3k because of a “blown head gasket”. LIED! I towed it back home got it diagnosed ran an engine test (head gasket was fine) and it ended up being a 15$ thermostat easy fix problem gone.

Very expensive and the service was slower than quoted. Paid quite a bit more than expected even after a 15% discount was applied (That was initially improperly applied. Had to argue a bit to get the full 15%). Adding a star since all the mechanics were polite and easy to talk to.

I highly recommend Joy Auto center! My car broke down last year and I had to get it towed to a mechanic within 7 miles. AAA recommended Joy Auto and I’ll never go anywhere else. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable when it comes to your vehicle. The pricing is competitive and you know they aren’t trying to rip you off like other mechanics in the area. We started going to Joy Automotive (back when it was More Joy) when the warranty ran out on a car we bought in the 1990s (so probably 2001). Twenty years later and we still go there for pretty much everything we need for car repair. They are honest and they get the job done. Right now we have an eighteen-year-old car that we bought new (different than the one mentioned earlier). Joy has been taking care of that car since its warranty ran out fifteen years ago and the car is running great, like a clock. These guys are just great.

Ive been bringing my car to Joy for the past 10 years and plan on continuing. They consistently perform all service thoroughly and are extremely transparent about all the work being performed, even when its not in their best short-term interest. For example, when I spoke with Jesse this week about replacing the motor mounts on my car, he actually suggested I take it elsewhere to diagnose the transmission issues first, since fixing the motor mounts without taking care of the transmission might cost me more in the long run. That dedication to strong, long-term customer relationships seems to be shared across the whole team and doesnt go unnoticed.

This is my third car that Joy Automotive has serviced for me! I drove each car well over 100,000 miles and felt secure doing so thanks to their excellent service.

I discovered Joy Automotive after taking my car to a dealership for a routine oil change, only to hear I needed $2000 dollars worth of unnecessary work done. I walked out, and took my Mini to JOY (which AAA recommended) for a second opinion. I was blown away by their honesty, willingness to explain everything, reasonable prices, and pro-active, safety-focused service. All my car needed at the time was fresh oil and a new filter. Then they went through the list from the dealer and explained why each line-item was unnecessary, confirming my suspicion that the dealer was using the calendar rather than condition of my car to take advantage of me. The guys at Joy are HONEST and respectful. Their service is impeccable (complete with a car wash!) I will never take my car anywhere else, ever again. At this point the guys know me by name, and I have loads of resect for every one of them. The long-term perks? I drive a 2010 Mini Cooper, and thanks to Joy Ive never had any mechanical issues, no break downs, nada. My baby still drives like new.

I was a long time client of our beloved mechanic, Mike Garvey of Accurate Auto on Lincoln Blvd., Santa Monica. When he got retired, I went to his replacement at the same place and it was a complete disaster. I felt being a woman, I received an inferior & expensive service. Drove from Michigan to LA, around Colorado truck had some issues, limped to destination looked up a few repair shops and this one was the highest rated with great reviews. Jessie and his team got us in right away and fixed the issue right away even though they had others before us because we were leaving. They charged a very fair price, and did more than expected, they washed and vacuumed the truck. This will be my shop when I move here!

Ive been taking my car to this shop for a couple of years now. I drive a 2010 Honda Accord. Sergio usually helps me out. Each experience has been great. Ive gotten oil changes done here regularly and they have helped me a few times with check engine lights. I would usually drop off my car in the morning, they would then give me a ride to work, and the car would be ready by the end of the day. They wash your car for you as well and they offer a discount if you have a AAA membership. Highly recommended.

I own a mini cooper and had a really bad experience at a specialized mini automotive service shop in Culver City. After researching online for a new mechanic, I found Joy Automotive Service & Repair. It had stellar reviews, but I was ultimately convinced when I found out my coworkers take their cars there. This might have been the most prudent decision of my life.Every mechanic there is highly qualified. When I have questions about the parts that need repair, I am always answered with clear and detailed explanations. I especially appreciate that they take their time to explain the repairs and provide instructions on how to make those repairs last longer.They treat every car as if it were their own, and as a result Ive never felt taken advantage of. The proof comes from the pocketbook though - all of my repairs have been very fairly priced.I lived in Culver City, so it was a convenient distance. I just moved to Sun Valley (near Burbank), but I still drive to Joy Automotive when I need repairs or even a simple oil change. I trust Joy because they are very straightforward and modest about what your car needs. They warranty all of their parts and work for 3 years or 36k miles which is awesome peace of mind for me. If you want an honest, great car shop, this is the place to be. They are really competent, hard-working, and never try to rip you off.I just had a tricky problem with my Nissan Sentra, and Sergio explained the diagnosis process very well and tried the most economical fixes first. Although my car improved with the first thing they tried, it wasnt perfect and this shop asked to keep my car a little longer to get it running perfect. They found the root of the problem which was a little pricier of a repair, but they gave me a break on the labor.Most shops I was calling had higher diagnostic fees and were not optimistic about finding my problem (no engine lights were on and the car would stall only once or twice a week). Joy Automotive was really helpful, thorough, and cared for my money as if it was their own.Couldnt be more impressed. Theres a reason this shop is busy. First come, first served works well for them.

This place is great! We started coming here 6 years ago when we lived in Santa Monica, and they have always treated us well and been honest about our cars issues & what repairs might cost. BUT they never force any repairs on you. They tell you what they recommend and then its whatever you want to fix. They also will recommend which repairs are more important. We have a 1999 Sentra with 115K miles on it. The outside of the car looks like garbage, but these guys have kept the engine running with no issues.Prices are great too. They dont overcharge, and they dont skimp and get cheap parts.Weve since moved from Santa Monica, but I still come back here when my car needs oil or has problems. Its just easier for me to trust these guys than it is to find someone else!

The crew at Joy is solid. Whether its Casper or Sergio, they get your car in and out the same day. Unlike other places I have been I have never had to go back and dispute work that was done on my car. On the contrary they have fixed minor stuff that other mechanics would have billed by the hour. My 2001 Nissan Pathfinder has 189,000 miles and still runs like a champ.The most honest shop I have ever been. My neighbors and other friends I have recommended feel the same way. I just bought a Subaru Legacy and Casper gave it the thumbs up but also explained what it might need in the future and what that could possibly cost. Love this place.

I stumbled upon Joy Automotive a couple of years ago when I needed a quick blinker light fixed. Since then I’ve been back to Joy for everything from an oil change to new brakes. Ive always received excellent customer service from Jesse and Sergio. I found myself back at Joy this week for another blinker light. We thought the light wasn’t going to be easy to change, because of its location, but their mechanic Homer quickly popped off my cars grille and installed a new light in 5 minutes. The friendly staff is very experienced, honest, and I always leave knowing my car is running smoothly.

More Joy Automotive is the name now and they have worked on two of my cars over the years. Recently I had an SUV that just went over 170,000 miles and we replaced the brakes, changed the fluids and had to replace the ac condenser/heater core. These are BIG jobs and they stand behind their work. My go back for adjustments was at no charge because they want it to be right. The service writers are great guys. Ill be going back with my new to me 4Runner to make it last longer.

I took in 4 automobiles and each one got five star treatment including tire wear, battery check, brakes, hoses and belts, etc. etc.Sergio was my service advisor and he was terrific in explaining the immediate needs and the near and long term needs on each vehicle.
