Parking cost $25 but if you drive a few minutes to Broadway and 4th St you can find a public parking where you get the first 90 minutes free then an hour or more for a $1 or soThe pier is very famous about fishing, nice restaurant and gift shopI think its a must to visit after you visit El Matador beach 21 miles away. Also got a very nice beach but is so crowded though
If youre thinking of coming here you probably should. Its a nice view, especially at sunset. Usually cool little vendors too. Perfect first date place
Decent prices but the guy should worry less about if someone is smiling and just do his job. Not everyone needs to run around with a smile plastered on their face. And no one needs to be relatedly told to smile. 🤮
Great shop! I bought my kid some nice souvenirs and they really loved it as well as the experience.
Says online that fishing and bait shop open at 9 AM but it’s 10 AM and still not open. Very dissapointed.
Showed up at 910 to rent fishing gear, said it would be another 30 minutes, 45 minutes still not open and we just wanted a fishing poll to fish with the kids. Maybe update hours to 10 or 11 open?
I love the souvenir items they had here. It was so much fun to see all the cutie goods. The owner was so nice and helpful. I had so many great items with me to share with my family and friends. This place was absolutely amazing.
Not the most beautiful beach, but perhaps the most interesting. The pier offers a waterside carnival-like experience for visitors, with interesting activities ranging from rides to a small aquarium. There are plenty of trinkets to browse and oddities to sight-see, but the real draw is the incredible view of the ocean from the end of the pier.
Got great advice and was actually catching fish while others around me were not. Looking forward to coming back and spending couple of days trying new spots .
Small selection of bait. Bait is cheap is the only upside. They do rent poles for cheap but dont have them for display and do not know what type of hooks or weights are even on the poles. Does not give you an option for hooks and refuses to let you change it. Changes of catching fish with their set ups are incredibly low. I dont think they should call themselves a bait shop. It is extremely deceiving.
Went here for bait to fish off the pier. The shopkeeper was nice and informative. The bait was very fresh.
Small but preciousYou can buy various of types of items there. As for my experience, pins, stickers, T-shirts, especially their post cards that with good prices and quality - everything that worth being souvenirs. The boss is a lovely old man, lol, anyhow, dont miss this small but precious store!
Great place to visit while on vacation. Took a great picture there with my mom and brother.
Nice to to a little pier fishing. This places makes it easy and a last minute decision to do something fun. Can rent gear rods bait at Santa Monica Pier Bait Tackle. Fair prices. Cast out, watch the sunset maybe catch your dinner. Musicians on the pier nearby tourists and locas all add to the atmosphere of Santa Monica.
Lots of Route 66 stuff but unfortunate nothing that saidSanta Monica - Route 66Little key rings or simple classic sign magnets would be great. This place does have a lot of stuff but its currently missing some low price - everyone buys items. Would check out again in the summer, maybe they will have pens, better postcards, maybe some Ts then...
Love the pier.A great place to spend time and relax.George Vreeland Hill
Definitely have to stop at the shop if you are a tourist. Route 66 is known across the world and this shop has every knick knack you can think of. Highly suggest adding this stop to your adventure!
My family and I come here often. Its a great place to hang out and have little time away from home. Many things to do, great atmosphere, fun and always something new to see.
Iconic. When in Rome... When in Santa Monica, hit the pier. And at the end, spend some tourist money on trinkets and watch the sun set over the ocean. Breathtaking.
Havent been here in ages still as beautiful as I remember though some of it has changed alot of pay to ride scooters everywhere and weed smoke I get its legal but do you have to do it everywhere.
Loved it.Very busy very tourist but a nice place to visit. Some great places to eat.
Very tiny. Nice souvineers. Literally last shop on the pier. Nice employee.
The one stop shop for all your route 66 souvenirs. Take in the history for a moment and enjoy.
Ive been enjoying travelling along Route 66 since November, it was great to arrive at one end of the road...I didnt even know that it was going to be on Santa Monica pier. Great surprise! Now I guess Im Chicago bound...yikes!
Bought the fishing rod and bait from this shop. For a beginner in fishing, was looking for suggestion and he gave us a very bad bait with which nothing could be fished. So people be careful if you are beginner and suggest to get good bait on your own.
We went to the pier to fish while in town on vacation and we were amazed at the price, In a good way!I spent $22, total, renting 2 rods for 2 hours with bait included!!We caught 3 fish and saw a sea lion... Very happy with this experience.
Its everything that you would expect. Cheap products that, personally, were uninteresting. Not really a must-see, I would rather you see something truly awesome in the area. But, if you want to get the stereotypical LA souvenirs, this will give you all you desire.Beware, prepare to cough up.
Its quite interesting to visit. Lots of things from Route 66 for sale. A bit price... But also, you may not find those anywhere near Los Angeles., so...
This is one of the smallest shops I have ever been in, but the place is packed with all kinds of tourist goodies. It IS at the end of US Route 66 and for those of us who have driven much of the old Mother Road, its a place you must visit.
Awesome place! Got there little to early as most things dont open till 11 am. Even with that the view and atmosphere was amazing
Cute little crowded souvenir shop! So I was on vacation. Did the touristy thing. Got a magnet and a shot glass 😊
The pier is awesome, a lot of things to do. Fishing, roller coaster, restaurant, gift shop, and watching the performers. Parking however can be a pain in the neck. On some days they close the entrance to the parking area from pch and you have go around wait in traffic in the city. Santa Monica parking stinks anyways its difficult to find any parking.
Picked up some great post cards. Be sure to stop by.
Owner is awesome & very knowledgable. A must if you are driving old Route 66.
Hung out here before our red eye flight home. Great fun
I would like to called here Musical Pier because so many musicians who are performing their talent. The melody was fully infiltrated into this area.
Totally enjoyed Santa Monica peir we spent the day all around it.
Lots of stores, family friendly, has a small theme park on the pier. There are street performers and are interesting to watch.
Just loved the atmosphere and the food was simply delicious it became one of my frequent places after my first visit.
Sure I enjoy sunsets in Asbury Park and sunrises and Santa Monica
Good food for a good price! Nice personnel working there. The atmosphere is awesome!
It was good, me and my dad bought the shrimp and squid for our time at santa monica for fishing. However none of the bait was that helpful. The shrimp works a little better though. I would recommend to fish later in the summer, right at the moment, the fishing is bad, there are not to many fish trying to take the bait.
One of the best places Ive been ever. Small but confi, plus the food is gorgeous.
Small shopBig heart!!!!!
Remember to leave your country currency on the board. The shop is small but it felt really cosy and you can get everything of Route66 here!
Awesome little shop with loads of pins, a wall of different currencies, and other little items to buy! Totally recommend, I bought a metal pin with French and American flags crossing for cheap, I love it
I love this place. They went out of their way to make my experience great.
Got some.magnets. small but good
Excellent customer service. Great prices. Lowest price on the pier for ALL GIFTS
Santa Monica pier is beautiful. Walk the pier too the end enjoy the day at beach.
Typical tourist thing on the Santa Monica pier, but hey, its there and free to poke around
Best place to play pokemon go in southern California
This is an awesome place to watch some fishing, surfing and to just walk and enjoy the scenery of the pier
Fun selection. Fair prices.
More than enough attractions to keep you entertained
I felt like the guy had a small attitude, Maybe from being overwhelmed by all the tourists that night. Ok Gift shop.
Its a small shop with a lot of Route 66 license plates and memorabilia. Its in a great location right by the sea.
This is so cool, its considered the end of the world. Apparently you can drive all they way across america on the routh66. Its right on the Santa Monica boardwalk.
A great shop indeed. Very friendly.
1st time for my Wife and I at the pier was it great. Will be back for our anniversary
My phone died on the pier, need a charger so I paid cash for the wire and wall adapter. The owner plugged it into my phone to show it fits, but didn’t have an outlet available to check if it works. He mentioned Bubba Gump was the closest place to charge, I tried charging it on random corners of the coffee shop and icecream place but it wouldn’t work. Figured it was the outlet and not the $25 charger. Went to Bubba Gump and had a bite while it charged, no luck still. Finally, desperate for a ride back to my hotel in downtown, I head to the bars on Ocean and try charging there to see if I could either get it working again or grab a taxi. Still no luck charging. Ended up in a taxi costing over $50 to get to downtown when Uber pool would’ve been $10. And to top it off, the Uber driver’s charger worked just perfectly. Imagine charging your phone in a taxi and trying to see if he’ll stop on the side of the road for you to hop into an Uber to save $40.Ridiculous and too annoyed to hassle. My own charger worked as well at the hotel, waste of $25(charger purchased at “Route 66 Last Shop”) and another $40(overpaid taxi). Thanks for the negative vibe.
Its a nice little tribute shop to the end of route 66. It has the usually nick knacks youd expect to find at a shop like this.
Get your picture taken at the sign! Get a hamburger. Ride on the rides. Not much that can go wrong here.
Nice place to spend a few hours walking around and enjoying the day.
Some lovely little trinkets in here, got a couple of hat badges. Service was perfect.
Always fun. Love to watch the weirdos
God bless you and your family
Small place but beautiful.... and delicious food at good price...
Beautiful location for beautiful beach shots and safe fun beach
