Great place, lots of wonderful birds and a massive amount of supplies! Knowledgeable and friendly staff. They allow you to interact with certain birds but are careful to watch and make sure birds are always safe! Too bad it may be closing and relocating, if they find a place. This is an amazing place!

The staff know what they are talking about and the atmosphere is amazing! Go in and pet the birds and hold them and get to know their temperaments before you buy. Such a good idea! So many birds from cockatiels to macaws! They will answer all your questions, and if you purchase a birds from them, the price includes some food for it! They also do grooming and bird sitting.Occasional they host a bird that had a previous owner, but many of them are hand raised and very friendly toward humans.

Wonderful hands on experience with cockatiels, senegals, macaws & cockatoos. The staff is very knowledgeable and welcoming and the cockatiels are so friendly that even young children can handle them.

Omars is great for bird lovers. The Omars in Santa Monica tends to have younger birds that are more timid and harder to handle and this location seemed a little shorthanded during our visit. Still a joy to spend time there.

This is a wonderful place. The women that work there are extremely knowledgeable about all the birds. Many of them are not caged, which is great for the birds. This place spotless very clean and the birds get great careYou can tell the people that work there love the birds and they will answer to the best of their knowledge (which is extensive) any questions you may have. I love this place!

Clean and bright store with lots of supplies and food for birds. They always have variety of different birds for sale - majority of which are way too expensive, overpriced. Birds looks healthy and dont stay in cages during a day, which is nice since they can interact with people. I am also surprised that this store /being opened for somewhere around 15 years/ still in operation in Santa Monica. They closed all pets stores. They have second store in Brea - same high prices, less selection.

Best store for birds ever!! Very knowledgeable Natalie and very friendly Maria are awesome!! I have purchased three birds from Omars and love that not all birds for sale are babies. They take great care and give all the birds much love and affection.

Everyone is super friendly. The birds are all out so you can interact with. Just be very careful as some bite! ask the workers before handling any of them first.

One stop shop for all your exotic bird needs. Knowledgeable and super friendly staff can answer almost any question. Birds receive pampered care from eggs to feathers. There might need to be a background check to verify that you are in fact a vampire, because some of these guys can live to a century. But if you are willing to commit, than by all means, this is the place for you.

Omar knows birds! This place has a beautiful selection of exotic birds and they really care for them well. The birds are left out all day to spread their wings and munch on treats! Picked up my feathery friend a little over a month ago and she could not be sweeter.

Pichan is my African grey. Thanks to Omars shop it was possible. I leave her there when I travel. She is well taken care of and groomed thanks to the staff. Also she can mingle with other birds.She gets groomed there. I buy my supplies there only from books to harnesses, and freshest bird food and goodies. The quality and service is the greatest. I recommend for bird lovers.

Omar’s is one of the nicest bird stores I have ever been to. The employees are very knowledgeable and helpful. We are visiting from Canada and we bought some toys for our birds at home!

I bought my cockatiel from this place back in February, just the most stunning little bird with such a wicked fun personality. I love coming here -when I get her groomed (which is free for their entire lifetime when you purchase through them), every staff member Ive interacted with has been endlessly friendly, helpful, and clearly love these birds. The store is much, MUCH quieter than other stores Ive been to, most likely because of the way its been set up - clean, bright, endless wall of toys and supplies, with limited cages and large hanging stations for birds to climb, play, eat, and nap. Unless they note that a bird is strictly to be admired, you can interact with most of these birds and get to know them. Their selection of birds is unlike any Ive ever seen!! I just met my first Rosey Bourke parakeet during my last visit and I nearly dropped dead - all of their birds are gorgeous, well fed and clearly content.Please always do your research before making such a big decision, but you can always ask the staff for advice to find the bird that fits you best! They offer boarding too btw($15/day if you bring your own cage and $20 if you wanted to use theirs); Ive got to go out of town this month and know my little dinosaur is in the best hands. Seriously respect what they do, and couldnt be more grateful for their passion to strive for the best possible care.

My first time getting up close and personal with birds, and Im sprung! Play at your own risk, but they let you know which ones shouldnt be played with, if any & if you can read body language, the birds let you know, too. They are so pretty, so happy, with plenty of food and space and their own personalities. Some are nippy, some are aloof, some are super friendly, some are cuddle bugs.The store is well kept, clean, the employees are knowledgeable and friendly. You may fall in love with a bird. That bird is probably already sold. That happened 3 or 4x to me already. The birds are a bit pricey but they take very good care of them - I think its the highest quality store out there (Ive been to 5 stores since to see the difference). If you buy a young bird from them, I think you get free grooming for life. Otherwise grooming is available for good prices. Boarding is very cheap too but I hear you have to have record of a few shots which can run expensive with aviary vets.DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE BUYING A BIRD!!All birds are usually a little different in behavior and diet. Aviary vets in general are expensive. So many people get birds that cant handle them and then there are lots up for adoption. If you dont buy a bird here, adopt a bird and buy everything else here. They are so good to their birds and let people play with them in a healthy environment. I love Omars!! 😍

I had my Goffin cockatoo and Meyers Parrot groomed there on Wednesday. I work on the weekends and Omars is the only place I found that will groom during the week. The 2 women that were working were very nice and the woman that did the grooming was very gentle with my birds. This is the 2nd time I have used Oars for grooming. I bought some toys for my birds as well.

This pet store finds great homes for parrots who need second homes. These birds are cared for by excellent, caring, staff. I would fell aafe letting them care for my bird for an extended period if I left town. This is a service that they do provide at a reasonible price. If you purchase a rehomed bird here, they also provide FREE, life long grooming. AWESOME place.

The place is nice as you can interact with their birda. There are many different kinds depending on the season but there is always a bonding time with some birda eapecially the small ones as they are friendly while the bigger ones seems a bit scary to handle they are still nice to play with as they are friendly. Handle the birds with care and dont be too afraid of them because I think they can sense 😱.

I am new to the area. I used to live in Santa Clarita and took my Eclectus parrot to the only bird store up there called Bird Bungalow. My parrot Kiwi hated going there and would scream every time they CUT his nails. I moved to Culver City and needed to find someone to cut his nails and wings. I checked online and found Omars in Santa Monica. I went to get his nails cut but they do not cut nails, instead they use a dremmel to do it and Kiwi did not scream once. So glad I found Omars since he does not mind the way they trim his nails. I will always go there.
