I could spend tons of time here just looking at and playing with all the little chachkies. They have a huge assortment of pens and cute office supplies, stationery and envelopes (which, after purchase, you can decorate using Their stamps and pens), clothing, toiletries, kitchen wares, and other whatnots. They have a bunch of essential oils and humidifiers so the place smells great. They have a wall of stackable storage containers that look an awful lot like the little modular ones you can get from The Container Store. I bought a couple and they are ever so slighty smaller so they wont stack perfectly with the CS ones. The staff is friendly and available to help and answer questions, but not at all intrusive.

The return policy at this store is not the same at other stores. Be aware that when you buy an item from muji you may not be able to return it depending upon what store you go to. The sales staff here needs better training in customer service.

Minimalist maximum. Simply everything for anything you can think of, this shops inventory is almost confusingly well planned. Sooo happy they opened here! Great quality products and amazing prices. Store is so well organized, and staff is very helpful. They even have a section to decorate and personalize your purchased paper goods.

Its actually really cool that LA has a brick-and-mortar store for this Japanese brand. Theyve got some of the most outrageously awesome stationary. Everything is super clean and crisp. Clothing is usually a muted color palette, simple & stylish, and usually on the small side in terms of sizing.

MUJI is a lot like Uniqlo. They have cute basics like t shirts, dresses, pants, and accessories. However, theyre on the expensive side as one regular Oxford dress shirt can be priced at $69 despite its common quality.Their stationary, and home goods selection is great though. They offer this cool option where you can stamp, and customize your stationary purchases. You can do that after purchasing a cheap stack of notebooks, 5 for $3.50, and its free!

From the sidewalk the obsidian to pearl color “mundanity” drew my attention and made it certain that I notice the billowing steam of the dozen or so samples of aromatherapy. These machines get lost in other retail spaces, but are a focus here. This concern for my nose brought me off the sun-screeching streets seeking Iceland. Japan delivered. Customer service and store presentation was cool and calm overall. The only moment I felt hot was as I passed the deck of snacks - Mundanity, for sure, but spiced with sugar and minimal nutrition. The reviews here aren’t very specific about anything (tell me why you love those pens) so I’ll suggest Wikipedia’s entry if you’d like a better introduction especially if you are new to its no-logo, personalize-a-logo mantra.I’m eager to have to wait 75 years to update you regarding the durability of the fairly well put together traveler’s trousers I purchased. (Update - after three wears in week one there is already roughed piling appearing on the front of the trousers where my jacket overhangs. The company should have a warning not to walk very long with a water bottle in your front jacket pocket over these trousers.)I didn’t feel compelled to handle many of their products. “Lower priced for a reason” was the vibe I was feeling as I checked the soles of shoes for any long term satisfaction potential. That emphasis stated I’ll gladly take a spin in one of their Nissan-made cars or stay in their Shenzhen hotel at my first opportunity. This company could probably deliver a future version of retail that treats men’s clothing with as much respect as female. Or minimizes both for a genderless fashion department. The stores sales will likely improve with a fresh coat of paint in the dressing rooms. And by adding a fitting room upstairs.I also bought the two white tees in a package. I look forward to when one can simply pull these out of a anti-microbial light box press rather than the tortilla packaging currently crinkling the feel of their brand, uh I mean identity. The light-boxes could feature aroma infusions. One could recycle a fresh tee daily if so inclined. Choosing preferred smell and/or shade. Ooo, and maybe taste. Tees are sexier than condoms. Yes, two cafes in this store - one for better snacks and another for our mundane but fully sensual underwear.Google Maps app is to dumb on the iPhone to allow me to augment my paragraph order. Apologies in retrospect. If you share a review the linked web page won’t display the intended paragraph spacing. One must view within Google Maps.Improvement always takes time and user experience. I’ll give a bit more before full conversion to some other social stream. Maps has been so useful otherwise.

Japanese business is defined by outstanding service and respect— The kids working this location are clueless. Every time I approach the register they are chatting lazing about, and I feel like I am intruding on their conversation. They are invariably rude and unhelpful. They leave me feeling extremely awkward and out of place in the store. They are reluctant to do their job, or even smile and engage. Muji is a respectable place to work— they don’t have it hard at the register, and I think the least they could do is be friendly to their patrons.

I was super excited when I saw that there was a store here in my hometown. I had previously shopped at the ones in Tokyo and London. I am a little bit addicted to some of their organizational and travel items. I was disappointed to find out that the essential oils they have here are different blends than the ones I have found in Tokyo. They have fantastic little stationery items and their pens are excellent. They come in different point sizes and colors.

Love it.This Muji is smaller but near identical to the one I used to shop at in Taipei. Their products range from slippers to pens to beanie bags to clothes to diffusers, and the best thing about Muji is that everything is simplistic, functional, and unbranded. Personally, Muji is my go-to to school supplies because its affordable and will last a long time. The employees are also very friendly and will let you browse without hounding you, and the store itself is always well-stocked, clean, and orderly. There are also a lot of other stores and restaurants nearby so you could really just spend the day studying at some coffee shop and then walk around Old Santa Monica to shop around.

Review №71

I became a fan of MUJI when they first landed in NY a few years ago. Its an interesting store and kind of hard to describe--a home/travel/clothing store? They in fact have all those categories of items, and theyre generally inexpensive to moderately expensive but made well (well, expect for this one inflatable travel pillow I bought a while back--kind of a bad design). I went into this store because I just wanted to check it out; I wasnt looking for anything in particular, but the discounted signs by the clothes drew my attention and I ended up getting good deals on a very comfy maxi t-shirt dress and a light black hoodie--the perfect kind of clothes to travel in, I should think. Id never bought clothes from them before but I like their simple, basic aesthetic--which applies to ALL their products, actually. So far Im impressed with their quality and fit. This particular store is quite large with a good selection of products. If youre a fan of MUJI or if youve never been inside one, its worth a look.
