Best FBO at Sarasota airport. I needed a quick turnaround, fuel and GPU and the line guys worked hard to achieve this. Always had good service from this FBO even when arriving very late in the evening. This FBO is always worth a visit.

In case anyone is curious as to what it what it would be like to be a tenant of Dolphin Aviation’s and the Sarasota Airport Authority, or simply purchase fuel or reside as a guest within their premises, please allow me to clarify speaking from over 6 years’ experience as a commercial tenant.Firstly, you’ll overpay in rent for slum-lord type facilities. If Dolphin Aviation wasn’t surrounded by an airport fence, it would be virtually indistinguishable with the run-down motels lining US 41.The hangars are in horrible condition, as are the office spaces. Since 2012 I have watched several hangar door cables snap on the line guys while attempting to open and close them. I’ve begged ‘maintenance’ over the course of several years to replace the hangar cables, and after two years of consistent pressure, was able to have 4 cables replaced, because apparently replacing all of the cables of the door would be too much of an expense for Dolphin to handle. It must be cheaper for them to wait until the doors collapse and have someone attempt to weld pieces of it back together over and over again.You’ll also be confronted with the constant issue of tenants running their fixed-wing planes between the hangars, and prop-blasting the inside of your hangar, aircraft and equipment on an almost daily basis. It wouldn’t be so difficult to manage if the concrete at Dolphin Aviation was actually maintained and replaced within the past 20 + years. Unfortunately, that’s also too expensive, and they have allowed the concrete to break down and disintegrate into the consistency of cat litter. If you close your eyes, you might be able to pretend you’re at the beach! Don’t bother reporting the issue (or any other issue for that matter) to the Sarasota Airport Authority, because they’ll pretend that there’s nothing they can do, and recommend that you bring it up with Dolphin. If you do actually attempt to bring an issue up with Dolphin, there’s a high probability you’ll be ignored, or told to bring it up to the Airport Authority. After a few years it becomes kind of comical how they send you in a never-ending loop of negligence and inaction.But if the condition of the hangar doesn’t initially bother you, you’ll be in for a real treat when you view your office spaces. By now, most of the commercial tenants have taken it upon themselves to replace the interior of the offices, and some have even added a second floor. But that’s also an interesting fact about Dolphin Aviation, because none of the hangar office spaces were ever permitted to be built. I was lucky enough to discover this firsthand when I went down to Manatee County to find the first-floor office permits to use for our offices second floor. After speaking with the original contractors who built Dolphin Aviation’s hangars, and reviewing the original hangar permits, it turns out they never bothered to pull any at all! That must explain why Dolphin does all of their FBO renovations at nighttime, and why the owner recommends you do any renovations at night as well? At least it only took $100,000.00 dollars to correct, and $30,000.00 dollars’ worth of spiral staircases to correct in my case. Maybe this little hint will help make your experience less expensive and painstaking.But don’t even think about making the Airport Authority aware of this fact, because they already are aware of it. They just choose to ignore the blatant safety issue, and simply insist you pull the proper insurances upon moving in. Hopefully the cheap construction of the office spaces, and interior electrical wiring (exposed loose wiring thrown across the ceilings) never contributes to a serious safety issue, such as a fire, because until 2018, most of the hangars and offices had fake (non-working) fire alarm systems installed (and the insurance you purchase might not cover a claim).PLEASE READ MY FULL 4 PAGE REVIEW IN PHOTOS PROVIDED BELOW.

I placed a call to Dolphin Aviation customer service which it was awnsered by Steve. Well, the hard part is trying to describe how bad he was in his customer service role if he was my employee and I found out that he called and left a voicemail calling a potential customer a jerkoff he would be and should be fired immediately. I made the mistake of asking an aviation business who advertises aircraft rentals on both their website and google his response was we dont rent aircraft here thats cirus in a very inconvenienced tone. So if you can find another place to do your business with I would avoid this clown.

Kind of an expensive gas, but a good place to arrive overall.

One of the first times I had gone there to pick up clients coming in on a private airplane I was frustrated that the attendant inside did not recognize the tail number of the flight that had landed about 10 minutes early but my customer called me and we got to pick them up near the front door though I would rather have gone to the tarmac as they requested next time I will call earlier and make sure that the employees are familiar with my tail number that I am meeting other than that it seemed like a good FBO.

I received my pilots license flying at Cirrus Aviation, a part of Dolphin. I enjoy flying out the Sarasota-Bradenton airport. The people at Cirrus are great. The view from the air is fantastic.

Wonderful trip to Ohio

I received a helicopter ride for a birthday present. This was the best present ever! Our pilot was Tripp. He was amazing! We appreciated the time he took to explain things on the helicopter as well as the landmarks we flew over. He was exceptional with my children as well. Once the flight was done he went back and picked up the whole family to bring them back for pictures. He let the kids sit in the helicopter and pretend to fly. My son loved it so much he now says he wants to fly a helicopter when he grows up. I highly recommend this experience especially with Tripp as a guide!

What a great place! The staff is very friendly and helpful. We take our children here on a FREE field trip every year (sometimes twice a year) and they are so good with the kids. Even though weve been so many times, we still go away with more knowledge each and every time. Thanks so much for the memories!

They had showers in bathroom stalls. I also got to meet the vice president here, but like, whatever. Im not a pilot, but the lobby was pretty cool.

Amazing place. Every 3rd saturday of the month they host a Young Eagles that gies kids a FREE half hour flight. Always fun, and the flights count as offical fligt time for getting a pilots licence.
