Picked up Carnitas for dinner. Came in a kit including cilantro chopped onions and wedges of lime. Got some delicious home made tortillas. Fantastic and affordable!

The service was terrible. I took one bite of my meal, 6 soft tacos and realized it was the wrong order. Upon querying the error I got waved away and told, its yours now.I strongly recommended other local establishments with far better, everything.To top it off the food was mediocre to say the least.

Decent customer service for a counter style Bodega eatery. Tacos are flavorful and authentic. That being said, better can be had but not in Sarasota. If you are looking for authentic tacos and are in Sarasota this is the best you can get.

Came in to this unassuming little restaurant tucked in this Mexican market and I was pleasantly surprised by the depth of flavor, portion, and fair pricing of my meal ! For lunch, I am definetely coming back to eat my way through the menu because it left me invigorated and wanting more !

Horrible service, the horchata was horrible and the cashier wanted to charge me more if wanted to fill the cup because we didnt want ice.. Not recommended. First and last time we eat in this place....

Holy YUM. Picked up some carnitas for taco night. They give you the meat, cilantro, onion, lime and tortillas if you want. It’ll make your taco night the best you’ve ever had.

Amazing food. It looks like a market, and it is. However, there is a restaurant inside too. It is very popular with locals, so I was excited we found this gem.

I went for the little street tacos Carnitas is my favorite. I wood post a picture but they were so good LOL. Its also a Mexican grocer with meat counter. And all the different kinds of peppers you could think of. Check them out!

Im rating this place as fairly as possible for what it is, a Mexican market with an old Mexican cantina style restaurant. What the restaurant lacks in flair when it comes to decor, waiters, and creative cuisine, it makes up in basic, authentic flavors. I ordered the Menudo and was not disappointed. Id only recommend this place for those who like genuine Mexican flavors.

I go there because it reminds me of Mexico where I lived 16 years ago in Merida Yucatan and thats where the owners are from great tacos and Latin American foods and the tortillas are Amazing for a 1.50ish hot moist I get a pack every time I pass by I have a massage studio in gulfgate next door so its my go to for REAL TACOS!

My husband love this little Mexican market to go and eat mexican food! The food is very reasonably priced, tasty, and the girls speak English, too. Its one of those hidden jewels to enjoy! Our grand daughters loved the food, also!

Great market and taqueria (taco place). Great combo plates. Tacos, burritos, tortas, enchiladas, etc. No tamales. Food is SO good and portions are big.

Chipotle/Taco hell/Grasshopper people, time to try some real food! Authentic, cheap, friendly, and full of atmosphere. Get the giant corona from the attached grocery and order anything from the menu - its all good. The made-in-house hot sauce at the salsa bar is killer (and killer hot).

Very Authentic. Had the Taco plate. Both the pork and chicken were delicious. Also tried the tamales. 3 for $5. Great prices. The condiment bar was well stocked with salsa, pico de gallo, cilantro, and more. Adela was very helpful and knowledgeable about her food. Made us feel right at home.

I have lived in Sarasota for over 40 years,(my whole life), and can tell you, if you want truly AUTHENTIC Mexican food, then La Bodega is IT! If youre looking for Taco Bell type Mexican food, then dont bother coming here. This menu is AUTHENTIC. You order at the counter, and might not recognize some of the dishe s names, but if you inquire with the super friendly staff, they will happily explain, in detail, the tastebud tantalizing dish,(seriously, Ive had them all- n theyre ALL delicious!), you ask about. The condiment bar is a MAJOR plus. Pico De Gallo, as well as a plethora of sauces and other greens available to dress your dish precisely how YOU like, just adds to the already amazing flavors. Theres a small Hispanic market attached for anything you might need to pick up on the way home as well,(theres American items as well),. Been going here for years, and will continue. Love it!
