My autistic son is musically gifted and plays several instruments already. He did not have a cello or any experience with one until Santa brought him a new one for Christmas. We were unsure how to set it up and a local music shop here in North Port recommended the Violin Shop Sarasota to us. We left a voicemail for an appointment, which was returned promptly. The experience was wonderful and completely worth the 40 minute drive. The shop is lovely and all employees where professional and informative. They set up the cello and taught us how to maintain it. I fully plan on returning for future normal care of it as I feel no one else could go as above and beyond as they did for my sons new instrument. They were so patient, kind, and encouraging to my child which means the most to a mother.

Alejandro Mendoza and Thomas Sparks were so pleasant and were very efficient in re-stringing and tuning my daughters instrument during my scheduled appointment time Friday morning. The space was beautiful and the chair to wait in was very comfortable. We all wore masks and social distanced. I highly recommend the Violin Shop Sarasota.

I am from out of town and the humidity was making my tenor Viola da Gamba rather unhappy. I called to check and confirm they were open and had peg dope. Once I got there we discovered they were sold out of peg dope so they gave me a tube of peg dope from the makers or the repair guys work bench. No charge! Wow.It is a beautiful shop and I wish I had more time to spend in there. It also makes me wish I lived locally as I would gladly enjoy having them as my shop for my Viol needs.While I was in there I found that they had an instrument stand that would work for my bass Viol which I purchased without hesitation. The price was great and it is exactly what I have been looking for.Very nice people. GREAT service! It was truly a pleasure.

A simply incredible experience!Thomas Sparks and Alejandro Mendoza helped me evaluate my Dads violin and bows that I just inherited.They were professional, friendly and most of all knowledgeable. Thomas Sparks took the time to explain the instrument, what he learned about its construction and history to me in incredible detail.They made recommendations as to repair and refurbishment and made distinction as to necessary, nice to have and really nice to have. It was easy to decide.Repair was done quickly and I was informed via text.Mr Mendoza played my violin when we picked it up today, it was the first time I have ever heard it. He is simply outstanding.Recommend that you visit them.

We were trying to get everything together for our sons Florida All-State Orchestra audition the next morning at 7:30 but of course, he needed some strings. We ran down to grab some strings and get on the road. The staff helped me get what I needed and they were very helpful & courteous. On my way home, I received a call from my wife in a panic. Apparently, I had left behind one of the strings on the counter of the store and she told me to call the store. We live 45 minutes away from the stored and I was nearly home. I called the store and spoke with Alejandro Mendoza. He was very apologetic and very concerned about our sons audition but the store was minutes away from closing and I had no time to get back. He agreed to drive and meet me halfway! What store would ever do something like that? We were able to meet and get the strings we needed. I cannot thank Mr. Mendoza and Mr. Sparks enough for all of their help. I will recommend them to everyone!

The owner and staff have all been amazing at the shop. We went in looking for a string bass bow for my daughter, and were able to try out several options - even taking them home to try out for a week. My daughter loves the new bow, and her playing sounds better than ever with it.

This store and its staff, especially Everett are just so amazing to do business with. I inherited 2 violins and bows which I knew so little about. Everett gave me so much information and time that it make my day. I left 1 fiddle to be repaired and cleaned which was completed so quickly. I so recommend this shop for all to visit and experience true workmanship and a professionalism.
