Had to get a part for my furnace that was causing a slow gas leak on a Saturday. These guys were the only guys open that had the part I needed. Saved me a bunch of money and the part was very reasonably priced.

I’m with John McLaughlin!I purchased a $2,100 boiler from this company and in doing so I asked the guys at the counter if they provided any assistance in putting together radiant heat systems. I was told, “sure we do if you’re buying from us we will walk you through it.” I was told BZ would be reaching out to me, which he did promptly.As I was discussing my project with BZ he asked me why I was taking on this project on my own. I told him it was due to the extremely high quotes I was getting from contractors and feeling capable with a little guidance. BZ asked me who the contractor was, which I told him and his attitude towards me immediately changed. He said, “oh, yes (contractor) complained about you.” He then told me, “well before I can help you out I will need to contact (contractor) to make sure it’s ok because he spends a lot of money here.” It was basically explained to me that I would only spend $5,000 in their store where the contractor spends up to $500,000 a year so his business was more valuable.I explained to BZ that I’m a small business owner and all of my clients are important to me no matter what they spend. I was completely insulted, not only did the contractor not ever say anything about me to my face, he was actively assisting me with parts that I needed help with on the project and seemed to appreciate my ambition. I paid the contractor for his help of course.Meanwhile Capitol District Supply was holding $1,000 of my money for a deposit in additional equipment to do the job. BZ proceeded to help me but was extereamly unpersonable from that point. Once I received his quote for the rest of the system I was beside myself. I looked up part numbers diligently and called other local suppliers and realized BZ was charging me almost 20% more!! I quickly requested a credit for my deposit, mind you I had not received a single item yet, which I was told I had to pay a 6% credit card processing fee! I told BZ that I process credit card payments every day and if a client requests a refund there is no processing fee. The credit card service does not charge for that.The point is, this company is overpriced and apparently is only willling to do business with you fairly if you’re someone that will spend $500,000 a year.If the boiler was not attached to plumbing on the wall I would be taking it back.I’ve since purchased all of the same materials from another local supplier and turned a $2,300 bill into $1,800. Keep your hard earned money and go to someplace else for better prices and better customer service.

These guys are pathetic. Called about ordering black iron pipe for a price and they didnt event want to offer their business. Was comparing to a box store, Lowes because they thread and cut the pipe as a free service of buying the pipe and these guys just laughed and turned down business. Makes no sense they didnt entertain quoting me.
