For as long as I can remember, Saratoga Guitar has been that local store that somehow manages to have either what you need, or an acceptable substitute. They keep more than youd expect in inventory, and their prices are reasonable; the brands and models they carry arent necessarily top shelf, but are quite good. That is, good enough that an accomplished player will generally be able to find something theyre pleased with, and that a decent guitar tech can smooth any remaining rough edges off of. They also usually have a reasonably sized inventory of amplifiers, both vacuum tube and solid-state units, in the practice amp to 20W, sometimes more, categories. Generally, they dont keep much in the way of replacement part inventory, which, while understandable, can be annoying. They do stock a surprisingly wide variety of strings, picks, straps, pedals, cords, cables and other accessories. The in house repair person, a very capable guitar tech plus, has apparently parted ways with Saratoga Guitar, albeit on friendly terms; the store still sends more complicated jobs out to him, or so they tell me. The remaining staff varies in knowledge level, talent, and overall attentiveness to customer needs. With time, one hopes, theyll improve.

Worst place for lessons. The guy is more than willing for you to pay but then doesnt deliver on the lesson. If you need any work done, do not do it here, they will do more than you ask for then over charge you.

The worst, especially the gentleman that gives guitar lessons here. He takes your money but then never shows up for the lesson. The employees are not very knowledgeable of what goes on in the store. An over all horrible experience.
