Pedro is a phenomenal gunsmith! I had an issue with my Glock 17 with a dead trigger during the August USPSA match at 17 South. He repaired it in a couple minutes.That match I had to switch to my backup gun and realized that it was vastly different and I wasnt used to it.Today I took that gun to Pedro to have it tuned up to match and he did so in just a few minutes.I recommend Ortiz Custom Guns for all your gunsmithing needs regardless of gun.

Dropped a mosin nagant off on 01/20/2021 and asked for a reproduction PU scope to be installed and was told it would take 45 minutes to complete but I had 193 guns in front so I would have to wait two weeks. In April I called asking why I hadnt been called he said call back tomorrow it should be completed. No call. Today 07/21/2021 I asked for my rifle and was told I could come back tomorrow and pick it up it would be 100% complete. I was insulted and expressed it, I was given my rifle and pu scope back as well as the deposit. They may do good work but Ill never know.

While they do impressive work on firearms, their business sense leaves something to be desired. It is currently 1020 and they advertise they are open at 1000. Lights are off, doors are closed. They have not been open since Saturday. Kind of makes it difficult to pick up a weapon that is finished with repairs. Plus if they hold on to it for more than 10 days I think it is, they start charging you. Will how can you pick it up if they are closed when they say they are open?

Im not sure why some folks write bad reviews for these folks. Im thinking they came in there with a false sense of entitlement to begin with. Evetytime I go, I get great service, my questions are answered and the employees are courteous!

After over three weeks of trying to get my gun back when it was supposed to be finished. well three weeks after it was supposed to be ready, it was not right. Everything that I had discussed was not done correctly. The color was wrong and parts I wanted done was not. All I can say is don’t waste your time coming here and if you do add a month for every time he says it will be done. His customer service absolutely sucks, he is a scatter brain and loses parts. While I was there he had given a gun to a wrong party and told them to go home and when he fixes the problem he will call.

Had a terrible experience with these guys, what was supposed to take 3 weeks ended up taking 6 months and the engraving work they did on the firearms was wrong. Dont answer phone calls or voicemails and everytime I physically went to the store the guys there didnt know where my parts were or werent tracking the work I asked to be done. Ill never do business with the shop again. Garabage.

Pedro is a great gunsmith. However the gun shop portion is owned by a different individual which is a joke. If you need gunsmith work speak to Ortiz directly. As far as the gun shop I wouldnt buy a water gun from them.

They wouldnt discuss prices over the phone. I understand supply and demand but it gets to a point when you are just ripping people off and taking advantage. $40 bucks for 20 rounds is outrageous considering I can order the same round offline for $15.99. This was my first experience with ortiz and have heard they have great pricing and customer service. Customer service on point! Pricing RIDICULOUS. I will be buying from elsewhere from here on.

A savannah business that cares more about obedience to covid cult doctrines and masks that don’t stop a virus than it does paying customers. This ones more regiment than any I’ve seen so far. Only so many in store at time, like 5 or so, then masks and then you have to clean your hands before entering. This owner is a real believer. Not worth my time or money. Many of us sacrificed a lot to preserve constitutional rights and won’t give them away so easily. I’ll spend my money with another gun store in town or even better, online. Some business owners will be left wondering why they went out of business when it’s as plan as the mask on their face.

I went in to buy my first firearm. I was quickly approached and asked if I needed help. I told the gentleman I was looking for an affordable pistol. He spent a good deal of time with me and took me through several options. He also provided a lot of useful information for me, very much a beginner in the firearm world. I ended up buying a Taurus pistol. I was very happy with my purchase and the customer service. I thought it was great that even though I was shopping for a cheaper gun I was treated the same and given great customer service just like everyone else.Ive read several bad reviews about the customer service there. That is surprising to me. The gentleman who helped me (Ting? - I cant remember his name...) was awesome and everyone working there seemed very on top of it. Great place for me and my first firearm purchase. Highly recommended!!

Just finished getting my wife her FIRST firearm here. She was able to ask a million questions and handle a large selection of handguns. We received ABOVE AVERAGE help and had a wonderful experience. For the novice or the pro, I think this is the place to go.

I came in to buy 9mm ammo and was over charged 20 dollars for Federal target ammunition. Looking at the prices online they sell for 17 dollars and I paid 40 dollars for each box of 50. (Since my review was edited). STOP TAKING ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE AND OVER CHARGING FOR AMMO!

By word of mouth this business has poor customer service, personally I wouldnt recommend to patronize and as you can tell from the owners comment; he needs customer service and marketing training. Im sorry to say that I read the reviews after my experience there today. There is definitely a need for customer service training.Repeated complaints as to the lack of customer courtesy and professionalism may be the result in the lack of training which starts at the top. As an owner that is seemingly disbelieving the negative reviews from his potential customers you may want to investigate for yourself. One way would be to send in someone as a customer. Understand, I want small businesses to succeed in todays market. Obviously it is a challenge to stay competitive with the bigger retailers and the internet. That is why you have to go above and beyond the customers expectations by wanting to treat every customer as if your next meal depends on the outcome of their experience. Building a strong reputable relationship with every customer by being helpful and educational with your knowledge and experience.Good luck!

Ordered my Pistol through the manufacturing company. Had it delivered to Ortiz Custom Guns. It was delivered when stated and Ortiz processed it promptly. I picked it up yesterday. After paper work was done and signed and paid for, I stuck around to check out the shop. The staff is polite and knowledgeable. They made this process very easy and their prices are great. Called trying to locate a specific firearm, gentleman I spoke to refused to give me any pricing which I found to be Odd. It would seem to me that a retail store would give their pricing like any other so that the customer can compare pricing. The person I spoke with was polite but I think this policy of not giving out pricing is not a very inviting one to potential new customers.

Ortiz and company are great, I’ve brought various guns with issues and they are always done right away or next day. The gun shop counter guys are typical veterans and I appreciate their humor and attitude. The only draw back is their ffl transfer policy for multiple guns but they wave that if you order in house. Probably the best gun shop and gunsmith in the Savannah area.

Came into the store today with my husband. Looking to find my 1st gun. The gentleman that helped us was great. He showed me different guns that I maybe comfortable with. After holding and seeing how they felt. I finally found one I loved.

Decent prices for a small shop, and the one guy that actually rang me up did so politely and quickly, however the other dude behind the counter spent the time I was at the register insulting me and cussing me out. Maybe train your staff better, because even with decent selection and prices, having your staff cussing at and insulting customers isnt a great business model.For someone so proud of having served, its ironic that you completely forgot the concept of professionalism.Ha, thats funny. There is a difference between friendly jabs and cussing at a customer. Good try though.

The gunsmith side by Ortiz is great. The sales floor is full of nose in the air condecention and customer service has gone way downhill the past few years. I miss the old Ortiz. I have bought or transferred many guns with Ortiz. I actually like that they are straight forward and to the point. They dont try and make friends or butter you up with BS. I go into the transaction knowing what I want and what Im willing to pay. Sometimes I buy from them, sometimes I dont. If you are looking for someone to fan you and feed you grapes while they try and sell you a buncha $h!+ you dont need, then this aint your place. If you think you know everything about guns and are looking to spin yarns about the capabilities of your Hi-Point or Keltec, then this aint your place. If you just want to order/buy a gun (usually at a fair price), and walk out the door with no nonsense, this IS YOUR PLACE!

While visiting Savannah for the weekend, I decided to try to search for a particular gun that I could not locate in Atlanta, Macon or Warner Robins. I could not believe it when they had the gun I had been searching for. Although the price was around $40 dollars higher than I could have bought the gun online, I purchased it anyway for the convenience of taking it home today. After a little discussion over the magazines in the box, I left the store very satisfied with my gun purchase. Great group of employees, and they didnt take offense to my knowledge being a little better than theirs on the purchase. I would purchase from them again, and I am a satisfied customer. Fair guys and great for transfers. I just got a new gun transferred through them and it was easy as pie and a lot less expensive than the neighboring shops. They called me to come pick up my delivery only 10 minutes after FedEx updated the status to delivered. They helped me look it over and make sure all was right before I accepted the transfer and filled out the paper work.

I went to the sales department answering an ad they have about buying used guns. I have a few revolvers that I seldom shoot and took them to sell in hopes of raising the money to buying a new gun in the future that I would rather have. I was surprised that they gave me super lowball offers for my nearly new revolvers and talked down to me about the desirability of my guns. Needless to say, I packed up my revolvers and left. 😡

Mr Ortiz pinned and welded a nox flash hider on my 13.7 SOLGW barrel in about 30 minutes. Im pretty happy about that.

I rarely write reviews but feel compelled to. Ive come across the owner a few times. The very first time a few years back, he was very pleasant and courteous. The next time, I brought a new to me old rifle that I had taken partly disassembled to clean for the first time. Everytime I assembled it the handguard was slightly loose so I brought it to him. After 2 months of my calling or dropping by the shop he finally got to it done on my last drop-in to the shop. It took him a few minutes as I waited. When I asked him where I went wrong on the reassembly, he embarrassed me by accusing me of trying to get him to give away his gunsmithing repair methods. All I wanted was to know so that I wouldnt be back the next time I had to clean my rifle. He was really a jerk about it the way he showed me up in front of other customers that were waiting.

Purchased a Ruger Mark IV, I was super excited about this one because of the reliability from Ruger being point on out of the box. Needless to say it wasnt. At 15-20 yards it was shooting 7 inches left. Adjusted it and was still shooting 3 inches left. I looked at it and noticed that the front sight was off. I went back to Ortiz realizing they had a gun smith and everyone there said it was fine. Maybe they were busy after Christmas but everything felt rushed, like running around like a chicken with its head cut off rushed. No one slowed down for just a minute. I think I spent 3-4 days total going back and forth to the storeI reluctantly took the gun and left. Still shooting left, took it to an indoor range to eliminate environmental factors and guess what still off. A little disappointed that I have a $600 paper weight and no one seemed to listen to me.

After just one visit, its obvious that Ortiz has the biggest firearm selection in the area. They also tend to have the latest and hottest firearms in stock. Ortiz is the only shop in the area that Ive found who stocks so many custom parts and parts that you just dont see in many shops.However, the reason for 2 Stars is that Ive never walked out with a gun because of their prices. Ive seen guns in there for $700, just to drive about 20 minutes away and find the exact same gun for about $500. I see people buying from them and cant help but wonder if theyre getting some sort of discount. I wish that I could rate them higher because the staff seems really knowledgeable and helpful, the store is really well organized, and they usually have exactly what Im looking for in stock, but none of this matters if I can save hundreds of dollars going somewhere else.

Had the barrel cut back on a Winchester lever action rifle. Cut and crowned barrel replaced front sight....Ortiz did an excellent job...great service.

Order a firearm from their website, about a week later they called and said it was ready. They were pretty busy when I arrived but were very fast and courteous, about 20 minutes later I walked out with my gun. Will definitely be using them again.

Literally the first review Ive ever left for a Gun store. Top notch blokes who sell quality kit; went in two separate times for parts to complete my AR lower build. Picked up some KAC, VLTOR, Timber Hill, and PWS. Super helpful staff, will definitely be back to pick up an ACOG in the future

If someone loves their job then you can expect excellent work. I went there to pick up a handgun purchased online (4 months prior). We started the paperwork got everything sorted out and he even installed some new rear sights I purchased. I also brought in my ride to have him take a look at my extractor. He found the issue and quickly resolved it. He only charged me 1 months holding ($25), and $95 for a new trigger job on the handgun. Excellent service and I highly recommend anyone looking to purchase a firearm or looking for a highly skilled gunsmith to go here. You will not regret it.

A gun was ordered and a certain day was promised. The gun is still not here. No one called to say hey we have delay on the mail. Common customer service would have been nice. My BF wanted his money returned since no one had the common decency to call him. There was a restock fee which was not discussed when he paid. He lost about $40. Then my BF was told they dont have control over the mail. Yes, thats understanding; however, you should have called. I believe my BF was charged extra for shipping so the gun would get here early but was charged a restocking fee?! I hope its not a black and white skin color issue!

Nice shop presentation, cool guns, but the customer service feels pushy or are not engaging. Tried to get a barrel swap here and was told it’d be ready in the morning. Came back at 1 pm the next day, no one had even moved it from where it had been place the day before then had to wait 3 hours before they finished it.

Horrible customer service with the workers there. Talk about “Don’t talk to that customer he’s going to waste your time”! Right in front of our faces too! Well excuse me if we have a certain price range we want to stick to! 0/10 would NOT recommend.

I went to Mr. Ortiz for help with maintenance etc on my new Glock a while back. Mr. Ortiz is very professional and helpful. He took the time from what he was working on in his back workroom and came out and looked over my gun, adjusted a few things, AND cleaned it right then and there...AND there was no fee or charge at all. I would gladly go back for my handgun needs if needed anytime.

Went in to check on some prices for services and the gunsmith hadnt even heard of a Mannlicher or Steyr. I suppose thats forgivable since hes specializes in pistols but I would still expect an experienced gunsmith to have at least heard of them. I have to admit they were very helpful in locating a smith who does bolt-action work. And none of this has anything to do with the star rating.I decided to browse the store since I was already there. While looking through the inventory I noticed a red spot on the wall in front of me. I turned around to find an EMPLOYEE POINTING A RIFLE AT ME so that he could demonstrate the laser he had mounted on a customers gun. He then instructed the customer try it in the same manner. I dont know what the hell those people were thinking but I will never return to this place.

I love Mr. Ortiz and I havent even spent money there yet. I brought my 1911 to him this weekend because it was having extraction problems. Even though he was busy (crowded waiting room), he adjusted it on the spot and then TEST FIRED IT TWICE... when I asked the price it was no charge. It now fires and cycles perfectly, free of charge. Whatever voodoo that is, it worked. Ive got a closet full of guns waiting for work and as far as Im concerned, thats the only place Ill take them to.

Purchased a Zev spring kit with a connector for my Glock 19. After installing it the trigger safety would not reset. Obviously, this is a significant safety issue. I returned the next day to return the faulty parts.I was informed that there is a no return policy on gun parts. I asked where that policy was posted or explained and the employee answered, “on your receipt.”That’s right. The only way to know you can’t return a product that makes your firearm unsafe is to first purchase the item to receive any notice of that policy in your receipt.I’ve shopped here regularly. Generally, I find it it to be a good gun shop. However, this is unacceptable. The money lost on this return (assuming they don’t get credit from their vendors for faulty equipment) is significantly less than they otherwise would get from me in ongoing purchases.To address your response.1. If installation by a non-licensed gunsmith is such an issue, why wasnt I informed of that by the sales associate that helped me at time of purchase? I guess that policy is like your return policy - only explained after the purchase. I also made no reference to my own skills in terms of installation. If your employee told you I said that, he lied. Simple as that.2. The first thing your associate said to me, after I said that my pistol was no longer safe after installation was no returns. Had he said, is the gun here? can we take a quick look at it? my response would have been significantly different. It wasnt until I was walking out the door that he suggested I do that.3. My patience isnt at issue here. You have cameras. You can see clearly that I went over to the counter and waited. I didnt attempt to interrupt anyone or cut in line. I only spoke after being addressed by a member of staff. Was I frustrated? Certainly. Did I cause a scene? Not a chance.4. He did tell me he couldnt accept a return on parts, out of concerns of liability with potentially used parts. However, at no point did he ever suggest a store credit. I actually came to the store to switch from the Zev product to a Ghost product - one which I had purchased from your store for a different glock and had no problems with. I cannot stress enough had his first reaction been lets take a look or maybe lets try a different product - that is, the offering of a solution instead of the no returns - I would have explored those.5. He didnt have to tell me to leave. I was already walking to the door when he said to. I wasnt unruly. I didnt cause a scene or otherwise show my backside. I came in to a business I have had previous good service with looking to solve a rather small problem. I was offered poor service so I left.

This is my go to shop hands down in Savannah, Ga. Minutes away from base, caters to all sorts of gun nuts, soldiers, civilians, le, first responder etc. I had a gun that was 6 months backorder from the maker themselves, they had it ordered and waiting at their store front in 2 days. SBR, suppressors any NFA products, with ease they took care of me. Some shops make it like it’s pulling teeth just to get a regular firearm. OCG makes you feel you’re part of a family. Ortiz himself or aka the DOC will remedy any issues you have with your firearm, and there sales personnel are top notch, and carry a lot of experience and knowledge. Bottom line, this is a one stop shop, this should be the only stop you take when it comes to guns.

Very disappointed by this experience. The staff was not very helpful. I came ready to purchase and they were not very welcoming. I asked about a particular shotgun and was told that in was not in stock and the gentleman behind the counter told me to go online. I was then ignored and left the store. I was ready to purchase and was open to options and unfortunately they were very indifferent. One should not judge someone by their appearance and so they lost a sale.

I visited Ortiz Custom Guns for the first time today. I was treated like a long time customer- first class. The staff was friendly, knowledgable and professional. The shop has a good inventory of handguns and accessories, but what impressed me the most was the gunsmithing shop.Ive owned many firearms, both pistols and long guns, over the years and visiting most gun shops, whether to make a purchase or resolve a problem is usually unsatisfying at best. My experience is consistent in the several states Ive lived in. Staffs can range from disinterested to surly. My experience at Ortiz was just the opposite.I arrived with a handgun that I had not purchased at Ortiz. I needed some gunsmithing work on the thumb safety of a 1911 I owned. It wasnt major work, but more than i could do myself. I expected to be told to leave the gun, they would (when they had time) look at it and get back to me. Instead, Mr. Ortiz heard me explain the problem to the gentleman at the counter and immediately began to work on the weapon. Within minutes, he had it fixed and while working on the weapon said the feed ramp could use some polishing and beveling. He immediately took the gun back to his shop and within 15 minutes came back with a beautifully polished and beveled feed ramp. He reassembled the weapon and thanked ME. That was it- no charge.Ortiz is an hour from my home, but they have my business for good.

I came in on Feb 25th to pick up my Glock 30 and had an excellent experience. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and the process was quick and painless. They have the biggest Glock selection in town.

A friend who was a cop in Hinesville told me about Ortiz custom guns shop. i am a really hard customer to deal with i know that im demanding and want to know everything about what im buying.they were patent and very informed on the products they were selling. i went back to them last valentines day to buy a smith and Wesson body guard and have it painted pink for my wife. they even threw in a custom trigger job for free. they are awesome and treat their customers like family i have bought a rifle for my little girl and another rifle for myself in the past year and they will continue to get my business for years to come.

Kinda run by people who dont want to be there. This is why i just shop online instead of heading to a gun shop. I walked into the door looking for a local business to support but, walked out not wanting to be there. I come to the same conclusion every time I go there.

I wish I was writing about the great workmanship I received from Ortiz Custom Guns, but I never got that far. On December 12th, I took my Ruger Mark II in to have it drilled and tapped for a Weaver Style mount. I was assured they could acquire a mount and do the work. I was also advised they were busy and it may take awhile. I said early January would be fine, and told no problem. Early January, I called to check on their progress only to find out hadnt even order the mount, but assured they would get right on it. Today. February 7th, I stopped by the store to check to see if my pistol was ready, and again found nothing had changed. The person I spoke with first gave the excuse they were having trouble finding the mount. I advised him they are so common, you can order them through Walmart. I was then told about the backlog of work they have, which can across as we dont need any new business. So I took my pistol and left. I called Ruger, they gave me a better price and a guaranteed two week turn around. Unfortunately, I can send Ruger the other firearms I need worked on.Again, I can say anything negative about their workmanship, but I know from experience, when customer service goes down the tube, workmanship usually follows.

One of the employees behind the counter made a rude remark, basically telling me to leave because I thought their bullets are overpriced. Really rude staff.
