This is a delightful place to pick up a book, a gift, or a board game, with so many cute nooks and rooms, and of course three feline friends.

Wonderful independent bookstore! Enjoyed seeing three beautiful cats, who greeted us as we browsed the bookshelves! Nice selection of books. Employees were very helpful and attentive! Will definitely recommend while visiting Savannah.

Such a cute book store! There’s a great variety of books, gifts, and... cats!! The cats there are so cute! They just lie around on the couches and in the books, so cute! There’s a lot of books also, and the environment is very fun to walk around in. Super cute place!

Very old house that now functions as a book store. Love how the bookshelves are distributed in the spaces of the house. Creating small little sections. The cute element are the cats that you will see around the bookstore. theyre all friendly and most of them taking naps by the old windows on top of piles of books 😍

I only went there once and it’s my favorite bookstore in this whole world. It felt very homey and lovely. Everything was cute and people there were nice.

One of my favorite places I have ever been to. A great book shop (they even have a small vintage sci-fi rack!!). Also the cats are great. Worth visiting even if you are in Savannah just visiting!!

I enjoyed my visit very much. Its very organized, and easy to navigate. It had quite a variety to select from in each genre. The staff where very friendly and helpful. There where some seating options around.Added pluse for some THEY HAVE CATS. 🐱

Its a beautiful experience to be able to buy books and reading and crafting paraphernalia and peruse them in person. The staff is lovely and takes good care of you, going to E. shaver is both an experience on itself as well as a sales service. The cats are beautiful, the atmosphere of the old house its built into has character & the selection found is extensive and greatly curated. The tea room, while about to move to be able to expand is a greatly paired addition to the bookstore

This is a terrific bookstore, and a must-visit in Savannah. Excellent selection of books, well laid out throughout the building, in a series of rooms. The staff are very friendly, professional, and welcoming. And, of course, the cats are adorable. The grey had a particular hunger for reading.

This is the best bookstore i have been to in a while. Their wide selection of books was incredible. It is all separated so everything is super easy to find. The staff were all delightful. Gave great recommendations based off of my personal interests. The cats were a bonus too ;) definitely stop by if you are in town!!!!!

Oh my! where do I even begin! This store is such an amazing place to go in, whenever I pass by it I have to resist going in (which I always give in anyway) the atmosphere is a very cozy welcoming feeling which is the perfect environment. Theres so much to love about this store, the staff has always been friendly so no complaints there and I have never had bad experiences with the cats there, overall a very sweet and charming place! :)

Such a dope bookstore! The vibe is everything! Kinda a jigsaw layout with different areas for books. Juliette helped me with finding the perfect book and shes awesome. Oh and how could I forget the adorable 3 cats that just hang out there! Must go too

Charming little bookstore on the corner of one of the countless squares in Savannah. Morning ritual on our stay was to stop by and gawk at the 3 massive cats in the windows. The selection is good and they even have rare stuff in the back if you are a collector. Staff was also knowledgeable and helpful and took a lot of pride in working in such a great little bookstore.

This was a phenomenal experience. I wish I could live there.

This is always an absolute must for our family in our yearly Savannah trip. Fantastic kids section. The shop has wonderful nooks amd crannies filled with every kind of book you could think of. The staff is always helpful and patient with my kiddo when he needs help finding something. As cat lovers, the 3 resident cats add massively to the charm

A quaint bookstore tucked away in a quiet side street in Savannah! Super friendly & helpful staff and loved strolling room by room and perusing everything they have to offer. Next time Im visiting family in Savannah, Ill bring them along with me.

AWESOME BOOKSTORE!We happened to be walking by and decided to stop in. We spent almost 2 hours there pouring over books (new and old), looking at magnets and cards, and checking out their tea section. Whether youre looking for gifts or just something for you, or just need to kill some time, this is the place!

This was one of my favorite places we went in Savannah. The selection was great, the actual shop was darling, the people working there were great to talk to and there were friendly cats!

This place is like a different world. The decorations are one of a kind. You should pay a visit and enjoy the cats’ company and buy books since they have a very good collection.

Great selection of books, you could get lost browsing. There were also a lot of unique gifts made from local artists. There are some cute spots inside for sitting and relaxing, but those are currently not in use due to COVID. We appreciated the precautions that were put in place to protect their staff and the shoppers. Loved meeting the sweet shop cats too!

The most wonderful book store you can imagine. A warren of rooms with hundreds of books for everyone. Very helpful staff. Just an awesome place. Watch your step as you move from room to room. They even have 3 gogeous and huge cats to admire. We went there twice during our visit to Savannah.

Amazing place with the cutest cats giving it such a homey feel! I loved the typewriter and seeing all of the little notes customers have written over the years. Could’ve spent all day there!

This store was everything! The ladies working are very nice and helpful. I didnt get to see any of the cats, maybe next time. They have a great selection of books, everything is sectioned off. I loved the set-up off the store, there are a few sitting places, and the tea they offer is amazing. There are even teapots, cups, and honey sold here. Great place, I will definitely go back. Parking is not so good, we parked a street over and just walked.

One of the highlights of our trip to Savannah. We came back multiple times on our short stay at my children’s request to see the cats and peruse the books. A great book selection with excellent recommendations by the booksellers. We also found cute Savannah souvenirs here. My 7 year old said her favorite part of our summer vacation was the cat bookstore.

Stopped by while on a self guided tour of Savannah this past weekend, but was unable to go inside as they were at capacity. We had to continue on to make a reservation commitment. But from the outside side it looked like a wonderful book store. Looking forward to our next trip to Savannah, where we will try to visit again.

Always a fun visit! I dont go as often as I want but the cats are wonderful, the team is always helpful and welcoming, and there is an amazing breadth of books available! As well it is amazingly easy to order books, that may not be available in store, for future pick up!

Probably my favorite bookstore in the country, I never miss visiting this place while in Savannah because theres always something to see at E Shaver.Right on a beautiful square, this historic location has rooms for all types of books, including local interest (and maps), childrens and young adult lit, cookbooks, bios, and all kinds of fictional literature and classics. There are places to sit for both adults and kids.E Shaver also has some selection of knick-knacks, games, and some magazines. You may also like to try to find and meet their three cats, who are featured on their bookmarks!Even in an age where I personally prefer to read on my tablet, I never walk out without having bought something unique and having had a wonderful time browsing.

What a great little bookshop located directly across the street from Madison Square! There are sitting areas throughout the shop and a little kids nook to. The staff was knowledgeable, helpful, and very nice. If you’re allergic to cats, beware, because there are 3 big beautiful cats (very friendly) that roam the shop. The Tea Room is located to the left upon entrance to the bookshop. They offer everything tea, along with hot and cold tea drinks for purchase.

Really cute bookstore! If youre a bookworm or you have a friend who is, this is the spot to go! Even if you arent too book savvy. You can accompany your book dwelling friends at E Shaver and just pet the cats! There are 3 very friendly cats at this location who are very open to strangers. Lastly there is a typewriter in the back you can play around with and write poems and excerpts.

If you love books and if you love cats, GO HERE. Great staff too! Bought a bunch of postcards for my penpals from here..

What a lovely place! Cozy, laid out well, lots of places to sit and read, and friendly staff. They have a great selection of books that are well organized by category. They allowed me to bring my dog in even though theres three cats here (shes trained well enough to not attack one). The large gray one is very chill and friendly, it didnt mind us at all. The orange one was very vocal and didnt want a dog near at all, I couldnt visit the tea room because the cat was blocking the way. Overall a very cool book shop.

Although the book seemed a little pricey the whole point of the store in my eyes is not to necessarily buy books but to have an experience in Savannah. The building is made from an Olds 1800 ancient Savannah building. the whole aesthetic of the book store is fairly nice as it is kind of like a maze with wobbly floors and there are books Filled from floor to ceiling. there are books everywhere and it is very very cozy. I highly recommend stopping here just to get the aesthetic. And there are cats, they kind of just roam around.

Absolutely charming. Wide array of books. Exploring each genre was an adventure in itself with the layout of the building itself. The gorgeous fluffy relaxed cats just chilling on the couch for pettings. Each room was cozy. Staff is friendly and accommodating.

I love everything about E. Shaver and the staff. I have visited many times both books for myself and as well as gifts. The staff is always very attentive helpful and friendly. I’ve also since visited during the pandemic and I find the procedures very proactive.Would recommend to anyone visiting that loves books, tea and shopping local .

Whoever worked tonight was not very welcoming. They didnt say hi when we walked in or offered to help. They sat so still I honestly thought they were a wax sculpture at the front door. There was a sign posted that asked that you buy from them, and pictures of the books were not allowed to encourage local book-buying. I felt like that was a bit harsh for the book readers who find 30 in one go but cant afford them all! I would love it if the sign had some moderation to it. I absolutely loved the selection of books and the layout, they had amazing greeting cards too, but I would rather shop elsewhere thats excited to engage their customers.

What a wonderful bookstore. I wish more bookstores like this existed, if you are in Savannah you should stop by and support this exceptional local shop.

We stumbled upon this local gem after a disappointing stop at another nearby bookstore. We were greeted at the door with a friendly welcome, offered several great book recommendations, and had an awesome time discovering the unique selection of books for all ages!

This is a quaint bookstore backdropped by the historic district. The cats and the typewriter available for writing notes/poems for the wall make for a memorable experience.

Wonderfully curated selection of unique gifts and even signed copies can keep a person occupied forever! Plus, with such a lovely staff and the option to browse local authors and regional books, it blows places like Barnes and Nobles out of the water.

Wife and I adored this bookshop. We went in twice on our visit and left with books both times. The shop is following covid protocols rigorously (thank you!) And only allowing 6 people in the shop at a time. Expect a wait. Sections are logically laid out and there is a wide selection of inventory. They have a rare and first edition type section in the back which is cool. The staff also will talk with you freely about your selections as what they are reading - which I really respond to. Will be back soon on my next visit to town.

My wife and I browse goodreads, Amazon, & the nearby Barnes & Noble, but only purchase here if we can. Just approaching the store is a treat as we look to see if we can spot any of the three cats in the windows--hot tip the boys like the windows on the north side & in the cookbook room. Then of course its hello to whomevers working and were off to pay due homage to the resident cats before checking the front shelf for recommendations--Melissas got the best tips. Another fun fact, I found out that Ben Affleck and I have the same taste in reading material as we are both junkies for whatever Melissa plops on her shelf.

This was an awesome stop. I really enjoyed the staff here and all the bookstore kitties. Pretty neat that this was a home way back when. This bookstore has coffee and tea and cute little cubicles to sit in and read.
