Great local bookstore. I loved the atmosphere and their prices are very reasonable! It was fun spending some time looking at all they have to offer. You could easily spend an hour or more in here if you had time.As of the end of June 2021, they still require masks. Luckily our party had some with us but most of Savannah does not require them. So if you plan on stopping here you may want to plan ahead and throw a mask in your bag.

An incredibly pretentious bookstore. Moderate selection but largely disorganized. Clearly selective about what they do and do not carry on shelves. Worst part was the incredibly unfriendly staff though. Clearly a store that does not want children in it, which is very sad. Its rare that I say Ill probably never visit a bookstore again but this is one of those such establishments.

To begin, I was confused as to where to enter the store. However, I soon found my way inside the store. Following that, I entered the store and was greeted by a somewhat friendly man. He and I spoke and I was caught off guard by his questions, but soon enough I regained my senses and we conversed. Soon after, I began to get more comfortable within the store and shop.In summary, my experience here was pretty normal. I would gave 5 stars but the store to me was a hassle to get to. Downtown Savannah parking always stirs my anxiety.Pros: good service, and staff and selection.Cons: location, and size.

I realize we are in a pandemic, and I don’t have a problem waiting, however we stood outside (in the cold) When we were at the front of the line, three people existed, the man said only one of us could enter, having stood there for over 45 minutes we knew there were 5 people inside one being a young child, therefore when that family left there were 2 inside, however he decided that instead of allowing 4 inside he would change it to 3 and inside of even asking if we minded he had a young man enter telling us that the wait would be less than 20 minutes. We waited about 15, it was just to cold to stand there any longer and decided to go to another place. We ended up later in the day going to Barnes and Noble and found some amazing gifts.

This is a nice little book store and very well air conditioned. Excellent place to scope out some used books and find some respite on a hot day. This is a unique hideaway nestled in slightly below street level shop; definitely an old vintage bookstore vibe. Just watch out for that last step down when you enter; there is one more step after you open the door. A knee buckler for sure if you dont heed the warning in the door (I know from experience! My wife is still laughing at me).

Great selection and variety, plus warm, friendly and knowledgeable owners/staff, and charming decor to boot. Would have stayed longer if they hadnt (thoughtfully) implemented a reduced capacity due to Covid19. Very sanitary, gloves and disinfectant gel for all patrons. There were other book lovers waiting patiently outside who would surely agree with my review.

We came from out of town and this was the only place my husband wanted to go. Both times other customers were also trying to shop. Yall are losing business by not being open during your posted hours.

Im a smug millennial who thinks that everything I post or take pictures of is worth everyones attention. Ive made many broad and uninformed generalizations about many bookstores Ive superficially browsed once and I can say with certainty that this is the best bookstore ever! OMG, if I actually was actually interested in books rather than cats and instagram I would love the selection of this place! Despite loudly talking on my cell phone and spilling my alcoholic libation on the floor, I found the staff to be the kindest, gentlest, bravest human beings Ive ever known. #lovelife #livingmybestlife #bookstagram

This is a well-curated used book store. I generally leave with more than one title; and, have to exercise real discipline in order to leave without more than two or three. There is something there for most everyone. Knowledgeable staff. Covid-19 precautions: masks reqd, only 4 customers at a time. If youre looking for a particular title, give them a call. Ive been to a LOT of used bookstores. I absolutely love them. Its great to feel like youre stepping back in time. I didnt get that feeling here. It didnt feel magical or special. I didnt want to pick up and touch many of the books on the shelves. It also didnt smell like books which is unusual. The thing that really bothered me was not being able to physically get to parts of the store because there are just chairs strewn about. I appreciate the seating space but not if it doesnt allow me to look at the section Im most interested in.

The rude associate in the cubs jersey overshadowed the great selection of books the store appeared to have. Thank you for the welcome and the insight.

Good number of books and the place was pretty well ventilated. I looked through the used Science fiction and fantasy sections and found a few books to read while I was here. There was no musty order to the store which means their stock rotates a decent amount or they actually circulate air. They had a new section that I glanced through, but had a lot of local flavor books. Did not seem that worth it on those.

We were in Tybee for the month of May 2020 during Covid19 and the people at The Book Lady went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. Awesome bookstore. I went in looking for a few Harry Potter books, thinking I would leave with some used paperbacks. The store was cram packed and there were minimal categories. Cooking, Travel, Fiction PB, Memoirs, Classic Literature, Religion, History, Georgia History, special and rare books, and Nature. If there were others it was difficult to wade through the aisles to find them. My only major complaint is that it had a smell of mildew. There were no major or newer authors. Even though there was a sign for the huge drop in step as you walk in it was still difficult to enter without almost tripping. There was no music and despite the desk of the young lady working next to where you walk in she never acknowledged our presence.

Then when asked about a particular author in stock without hesitating he told us they didnt carry that authors books as if it was an insult. We quickly left the building and have never felt so uncomfortable in a store. We will not be back and drove a long way to go to that particular store looking for a certain author. The customer simply wanted some information about a style of literature, not to have his intelligence or level of sophistication called into question in a very very embarrassing manner.
