Date: Summer 2021 (Covid-19 Pandemic)Cute little shops on the river, but it is very flea-market like. Support small businesses but keep in mind what is being sold as to not get scammed if you expected more than what you got.
Its so nice to have the water taxis available to transport you across the water way to see the Savannah Convention center and the Westin hotel. Then ride back across to the Marriott, get off and sight see or you can board again and ride back to the original boarding location. The taxis run throughout the day into the evening. The best part is, Its FREE!
This is a beautiful scenery. You can enjoy everything from boat, bus and trolley tours, to eat AMAZING food and desserts while shopping for souvenirs to take back to your love ones. Last but most certainly not least as you walk up and down the streets you see many stones and monumental pieces of American history and local history!
Yeah, its touristy, but there are some lovely views of the Savannah River from here. From the riverboat tours taking off or cargo ships passing through, its a wonderful thing to see!! Aside from the blatant tourist traps, there are some cool shops hidden in the alleyways that are just waiting to be discovered. All in all, its not really a trip to Savannah without checking out the view from here!
Pretty neat little open air market down on river street. Several unique vendors with pretty things. Loved the booth that has candles that are also lotion.
So many unique items for sale. Well kept, clean, lots of venders with beautifully handcrafted items. There is something for everyone.
River Street has a Rive Street Market Place with booths for small business vendors that you can explore. Some vendors have hand made items like artwork and personalized items and some just have unique items for all. If you live here or visiting this place one River Street you should visit to explore a wide variety of items 😇 Me myself liked Mist omg has so many artists craft self handmade, Element Tree Naturals Candles that melts into body lotion all in one, Henna Tattoos niceeee theyre temporary but still nice and ohhh yeah a wind spinner will be a nice thing to have. Theyre some much much more beautiful items to check out just talk a walk through there to see to explore😇
Nice market place. Not huge but nice amount of stuff to browse. Friendly vendors. very clean environment, reasonable prices.
Very cool. Local crafts and hand made stuff. Right next to the river.
I love this place! I used to work down here a lot, I worked in a booth there for Old Savannah Tours. I still work for them, I love my job, I just dont work there anymore, at River Street Market. Anyways some wonderful people and great shops with all kinds of odd ends, if youre looking for something, odds are you will find it in there, hell, odds are even if your not looking...youll find something at River Street Market!
Cool variety of store and shops here. This is worth checking out if you are traveling and checking out the area.
Great collection of random vendors selling their crafts. They all are smiling and happy to greet you. Its always hard to find a gift for someone who has everything. You are sure to find something in here. Youre sure to find something for yourself too.
Lots of creative things to buy you wouldnt necessarily find elsewhere.
There was a great atmosphere, a wide variety of shops, and even a talented street performer playing guitar and singing. Very much the Savannah vibe right there on the river.
Was great place to visit but the old roads a little dangerous witnessed 2 people almost fall. I know its not city fault due to history but signs would be helpful
Great family owned shops. Wide variety of items. Check out your personal gift shop. He makes personalized wood picture frames, photo albums. He made a beautiful wood frame for my family to remember the yr we spent time in Savannah ga.
My husband and I love browsing through River Street Market Place! Lots of great vendor with a wide variety of items! You never know what you will find!
Just a bunch of unfriendly vendors selling tourist junk. I did find a guy selling jewelry from some local artists who was friendly and informative.
River Street in Savannah! I have been here many times over the last 30 + years. It is a must if your in the area. A nice walk along the river with many shops, bars, restaurants etc...lots of old southern charm can be found in this entire area of Savannah. Plan to spend anywhere from a couple of hours to possibly the whole day in the area. There are several construction projections currently going on to be aware of.
Im a local here and I always love coming to this place
There is an array of shops, vendors and dining options here. You a can leisurely stroll river street and enjoy the day viewing and purchasing unique souvenirs. Some shops even offer free samples, my favorites are the peanut factory and the ice cream shop yum yum.Take a tour, there is a variety to choose from or go on the river cruise... thats a treat!Either way, put your feet on the cobblestone street and you are sure to have a wonderful day!!! I know i will be returning!
Lots of shops and restaurants.Nice, peaceful view of the river.$10 all day parking. Park your car and take a stroll along the river.
Its ok if you like that kind of place
Neat stuff most of it, but not all handmade.
Great little stores. Start at one end and walk through
Lots of amazing local vendors, tons to look at and purchase. Not just typical run-of-the-mill tourist souvenirs.
Love this place. Theres something for everyone.
Travellers, this is a lovely walk along the river to this shop full of local vendors with unique and interesting gifts, souvenirs, perfumes, handmade soaps, t-shirts and sweatshirts, and so much more. Walking down the ancient cobblestone streets is enchanting and beautiful down by the Savannah River. All the shops are delightful. Check it out. We recommend.
Such a cool market with lots of unique gifts from jewelry to clothing, bags and even hand made items. Engraved frames and other items to spinning yard suncatchers/art.
I spent way more than I should have but they have awesome stuff
9-30-18 - In Savannah and River Street again. Visited several shops with wife and daughter. But highlight was River Street Sweets, and Savannah Sunglasses. Partly cloudy and rained part of the time there, but still had a great time and didnt detour the many patrons and onlookers there. Many were friendly and laughs were shared by all.4 Months Ago - Visited several shops along River Street, but was mainly here for bear claws at River Street Sweets, and sunglasses. Plenty of nice patrons, sun not too hot and breeze going. Crafts fair took place across the street from the shops.
A good market place along the riverfront with many varieties of shops of all kinds and few from other countries.
The bench to the side is a great spot to watch the ships.
Theres literally a LOT of cool places to visit here.. food.. shops.. local art.. I really like it!
Havent been in years even though Im downtown all the time. Forgot how much of a variety there is there.
Great first trip to Savannah.
Fun, vibrant walk! River Street has a ton of restaurants, shops, and bars. A few hotels and inns as well! Definitely a great place to take in a lot of the area! You get to see the Savannah River and tons of local flare, as well as plenty of tourists traps of course. Its a longer walk if youre going the full length and there are several cobblestone and uneven surfaces, so I would NOT recommend planning on wearing heels or uncomfortable/unsupportive shoes. Great place!
Love this place. Check out Element Tree candles. They sell THE most divine lotion candles and Bathsalts.
Lots of interesting items to purchase.
It was a wonderful day on River Street
What’s not to love! It’s nice and there’s a lot to see. Family friendly. The services at the restaurant was amazing! Will definitely be back
A nice day to shop. And one of the worlds largest cargo ships to beat! Quite a nice day!
Nice lots to see prices at forever smile perfect!!
Nice place to visit. A lot more fun during st Patricks day.
We had a wonderful time
Love this place. Very historical. Great place to take the kids. They will have fun watching the big ships going by. Good bars and restaurants all around.
Cool little market. Lots of interesting shops.
Airy place with a flea market feeling.
Construction and slow traffic currently (mi July 2022) made it less enjoyable. Otherwise its great.
Its a cute venue with a variety of booths.
We ordered food without buns due to a food allergy, and when the cook made them with buns, he was very rude and had a bad attitude with us when he had to remake the food (that was placed correctly on the receipt). The food was fine, but I would never come back here because why would I spend money to be treated badly?
Great place to visit.
Another favorite in Savannah, Ga. River street. Many shops to browse, pick up souvenirs and several pubs and restaurants. Dont forget to pick up your favorite fudge. As you stroll the waterfront, you will see ships from many places and Naval ships.
The little shops with real artists work
Great selection of items. Vendors were really helpful and friendly.
Going to Savannah? Visit River Street Market Place for great artifacts.
Great atmosphere, an awesome place to spend a day. Lots of great shops and places to eat. Loved it
All the drivers and employees are very gracious, kind and extremely knowledgeable of the city not to mention entertaining. The whole tour was great !
This is an open air market that has several different types of vendors from handmade carvings to exotic meat sticks.
Beautiful fountain built from a Sears and Roebuck kit. No kidding! Our tour guide gave us this info.
Cool little place. Kinda expensive on some these but cool to look at.
Great place to visit with all the family great View
Small general market for souvenirs, tee shirts, hats, jewelry. Nice courtyard between the 2 buildings with seating.
What a diverse group of vendors. You can find about anything here.
Hanging out with family and friends....having a great time shopping....what more can you ask for?
Little pricey but has a good vibe and open air I enjoyed the diversity of product
Nice shops off the riverwalk. Kinda tight spaces. Great for getting jewelry, bags, and other cool souvenirs.
Its a pretty cool shop on River Street. They have different options for shopping needs. Anything from handmade soaps, to custom lettering, to handmade bracelets. A nice place to spend some time looking at local vendors.
This place is the best place ever. Right on the river. You can see barges driving by. Lots of restaurants lots of shopping. Outdoor markets. An absolute must see in the historic district
Very enjoyable place to shop. The history here is very fascinating.
Awesome place to go and do some shopping.
Really annoying having the Beggars everywhere when theres help signs constantly for jobs. Very much makes you want to go to another place
Lots of fun shops with different and unique things to spend money on if thats your thing.
We love River Street its a must do if your visiting Savannah. There is so much to do shopping, eating, drinking. Its so nice just to walk down the row of restaurants and shops, its so beautiful to.
Neat artists market on the water. Fun shopping!
Not what we were expecting and definitely not much to see
Fun place to be. Had dinner at Belfords. Excellent meal.
Great place in Savannah to find unique gifts and souvenirs.
Great place to go and shop.
Touristy stuff. Nothing that really is different from other shops on the street.
