The Staff and Techs at that place are awesome. They fixed my subaru impreza 15 rear hub bearing noise issue. I usually fix my own car but this time i couldn’t fix the rear hub due to the hub bearing being seized up because of rust. Many thanks to you guys.

This is my first experience with Six Star Motorsports. I was having my tuning done by Boosted Tuning Performance (Graham) at their location. My car had just recently had a new short block put in by my local dealership. I had been having issues from day one. Weeks of fighting with the dealership to make it right. They had the car for over 13 weeks total and gave me every excuse in the book why it wasn’t running right. I tell you this information because on my day of tuning with Boosted Performance Tuning at Six Star Motorsports I was having issues where my tune session had to be postponed. The guys at Six Star found the issues AND repaired it in 45 minutes. Yes you read that right. 45 minutes. My car got tuned and is running better than ever. These guys are passionate about what they do. I got a tour of the shop and some of their projects. I literally spent the entire day around this shop and saw many interactions with customers in person and on the phone. I was so happy and impressed with these guys that I got a quote for my other Subaru and will be putting it on a trailer and driving 3 hours to drop it off with them. Great customer service! The sales manager Chris was very knowledgeable on my Subaru Legacy year and was able to guess what the problem was before his mechanic even put it up on the lift. Bad wheel bearing. The shop seemed very busy so best to drop your vehicle off rather than wait. I will be back for my next 30k scheduled maintenance checkpoint.

A true story of how 6 Star motorsports saved my Subarus life. Buy your dream car? Awesome. Treasure it and drive it proper? Check. Random poor driver crashes into your baby? You bet. And after your insurance leaves you with some repairs not feeling right there is only one place to head; Six Star Motorsports. After some side / front damage and repair to my car I noticed some loss of power and under my (average at best) inspection noticed an exhaust leak. Quick and easy scheduling with the front desk at 6 Star made it easy to get a time slot to bring the car in. Clean front office, very friendly staff, comfy waiting area, and a well maintained shop on arrival. Under quick inspection of the car they returned and explained the issues at hand. Motor mount was split causing the engine to sag, gasket blown out from header to up pipe, and some very unprofessional clamp usage that would make any enthusiast unhappy; this is what some would call “not good news” but alas I was at the best possible place to address the damage. The professionals at 6 Star Motorsports explained in detail what was wrong, the parts they had in stock to fix the issue (or could order if I desired) and the time frame to get the job done. And before I knew it my car was driving better than it had in a very long time… oh and did I mention for an extremely fair price? The moral of all of this is, if you drive a Subaru of any kind and want to protect and enjoy your investment there is only one shop you should bring your car to, and that’s 6 Star Motorsports. These guys honestly probably care more about your car then you do and it shows with the pride they take in the work they do. 10/10 would recommend and will be returning for all my subi needs. I have taken 2 cars here (one Subaru and one not) and both times I was very pleased with their service.Even before I started spending on repairs of the first car, they were more than willing to talk me through the purchase of a used Subaru and warned me of things to look out for. More often than not, I learn things from just being in the shop and asking questions.All of the employees are genuinely friendly and are just looking to help you achieve your goals. If you’re looking for a good, honest group of mechanics and enthusiasts, this is the place.Also, they keep motul products in stock (which isn’t always common) and have a good parts counter, if you’re thinking about aftermarket parts check here first.

I was looking for a full aervice shop to help me achieve my goals for my 2017 wrx. This has been my first experience with a tune shop and I will now be a lifetime customer. Most of my interactions were with chris, mark and dewey. Every time i spoke with one of them they were friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. I opted to have them perform services on my vehicle and couldnt be happier with the results. Had my stock turbo go out so went with their recommendation for an aftermarket upgrade. Protune complete and it feels like a completely different car. I recomend all subaru owners to skip the dealership and go with a level of care and performance that only six star can offer.

The team at Six Star is wonderful! They took amazing care of my Forester during its 60K/brake service, and the car feels great. Even took time to schedule a secondary inspection to diagnose a potential clutch issue. They are knowledgable, happy to answer questions, and make you feel very welcome. No doubt they are the best around, and only want the best for you and your vehicle.

Never been disappointed with a single visit. Ive come to the point where they are the only people I trust to service my 2014 hatch STI. Every time I get my car back from them, I drive away smiling and I can guarantee you will be too. You can really feel the difference in quality of work from the moment you step on the gas from their shop.On top of that, these guys very inviting, personable, and honest with you. Whether you know a lot, or not so much, about cars, they will make a point to inform you on every aspect of what they do. They will also respectfully correct you, if you happen to be misinformed on something, or simply not as knowledgable. Even if you just have some questions about your car, you can ask them anything and be sure that youre getting the most accurate info.Biggest job they did for me was fix my blown head gasket. After getting the car back, it drives better than the day I bought it. There is a sense of pride in knowing Six Star worked on your car and repping them with their logo. I dont think I will ever go anywhere else and I even go as far as saying that their shop is one of the reasons why Ill probably never move away from Illinois. Worth it.

These guys are awesome! Recently had a motor built by them for my 2018 STI. This is my first Subaru and also first turbo car so these guys took the time to really explain the process and made sure everything was getting done correctly. The guys here don’t treat you as a work order either, they will get to know you by name. Im very satisfied with my car and even more with the knowledge I’ve gained from Marvin, Mark and Dewey. This will be the only shop I take my car to.

My WRX was having knock issues that my original shop couldnt fix and had given up on. They told me my car was an anomaly and I would have to live with it. So I went to Six Star Motorsports to see if they could help. Six Star quickly located the problem and solved it. I then had Six Star setup a new tune for me with their tuner, Graham from Boosted Performance. The entire teams knowledge and ability is amazing. I am so happy with my WRXs power and and I am absolutely thrilled with how it drives. Better still, it is now completely knock free. The Six Star staff was friendly and professional and went out of their way to help me throughout the process. Unbelievable customer service! A huge thank you to Mark and the entire team at Six Star Motorsports. I can not recommend these guys enough and if you are anywhere in the Midwest it is worth the drive. I drove in from Grand Rapids MI and will be back when its time to make the next modification.

I recently went to Six Star Motorsports to get the turbo replaced on my car and get the car tuned. Six Star did a great job and was very responsive with my questions and requests. I brought the car in on Wednesday evening and had it back by the end of the day on Friday like they promised. They ran into unexpected issues along the way, but were still able to get the car back to me on time. The work performed was very thorough. In addition to replacing the turbo, they also replaced a number of old hoses they saw were in bad shape while they were working on the car.Marvin and Mark were great to work with. Graham did the tune on my car and did an excellent job. The car runs smoother than it ever has since I bought it 7 years ago and problems I was having with the turbo are resolved. I highly recommend this shop to anyone looking to get work done on their car, especially if you own a Subaru. They really know the WRX/STi platforms well.

These guys are the best!My first interaction with this shop was when I was calling shops around the Chicago area trying to figure out who could do a stage 2 setup on my 05FXT. I was immediately drawn to them due to their super friendly nature and their expansive knowledge, not to mention their reviews. I scheduled a time with them to run some tests on my engine to see if it was fit for a stage 2 set up, since it did have about 138000 miles on it. Unfortunately they discovered a head gasket leak/failure which is not super uncommon for these cars at this age. But I was looking on the bright side because several other shops were prepared to just slap stage 2 bits on my car with no prior inspections and I wouldn’t have known any better, and then I would have encountered much bigger problems down the road. So to fix the issue of the leaky head gasket I declided to have them rebuild my engine, as opposed to just a head gasket replacement or buying a whole different car. I went with this because they have a rebuild option that isn’t focused on power, but reliability. That was very appealing to me since I wanted to be reassured that I’d have no more problems with my engine and I also wasn’t looking for crazy power numbers. Plus, at least from what I could find, six star is the only shop in the area to offer a rebuild package like that. After having the car back for a mont after the build, the engine runs buttery smooth and absolutely no problems. Plus they threw in some extra torques when they tuned it because they knew I’d like to have a little fun 😇. Couldn’t have left my car with a better bunch of guys, I highly recommend this shop!

I want to give a huge shoutout to Eric Dewey for convincing me to pro tune, i have a stage 2 wrx and found it trivial to tune since i had Acessport, in his words: you are not ready to party until you tune your engine. Holy Sh*** I was WRONG!! Boosted Performance Tuning woke up my engine and the difference is night and day. The main reason i did it was to track my car safely. never thought the power difference would be so noticable, its like having a diff car😂😂. The whole team at Six Star Motorsports has mad patience with all my inquiries and hessitation, they were super helpful and made my investment go the right route for what i need without me feeling theyre trying to push parts and services down my throat 👍 did 241hp and 352 torque on a stage 2 setup 😍

The best Subaru shop in Chicagoland

I first contacted Six Star when I was still deciding on a shop to go to for some parts and a dyno tune for my car. Marvin made time for me that same day. I came in and he spent a solid hour with me, going over the current status of the car, planned mods, power goals, maintenance and safety concerns, and anything else we could think of. He was extremely thorough and knowledgeable, easy to work with, and made it obvious that he wanted me to be happy with the car at the end of the day. I immediately decided to trust them with my car. Sammy, Marvin, and the entire Six Star crew are awesome to work with, and Ive gotten support from them since day 1 whenever something has come up. Im extremely happy with the car and have been recommending them nonstop since then.

I bought a few new parts for my BRZ (engine mounts, header, overpipe), but when I went to install them, I discovered what appeared to be an oil leak from the timing cover. Took the car to the dealership for a diagnosis, and was quoted $3200 for a leaking timing cover AND a leaking head gasket. A bit on the pricy side... lol.Reached out to Six Star. They quoted me a fraction of the price to do the timing cover! Their labor rates were reasonable, so I figured Id have them toss on the other parts while they were at it. Come day-of the install, I drop my car off. Get a call a few hours later from the man himself (Marvin) telling me that it looked an awful lot to them like the oil leak I was seeing was just spilled oil from one of my previous oil changes (I guess I was clumsy). He recommended they just clean off the engine, and I keep an eye on it, rather than doing a bunch of unnecessary work.So in the end, I just paid for the labor of installing the aftermarket parts on my car. They were even nice enough to let me go into the shop and take a few photos of the install process, as I wanted some documentation for my own blog post.So while Subaru wanted to charge me $3200 to fix a problem, this shop essentially charged me nothing because it wound up not being a problem at all. Having said that, they were adamant that I should just occasionally look to make sure it wasnt an actual leak, and that if the oil did re-appear, they would gladly re-evaluate. Seems fair enough to me! No reason to spend money and open up the engine unless it really, truly needs it.Its a real joy interacting with people who put the customers interests ahead of their own. Well, good customer service IS in their best interest, obviously, but you know what I mean! I will certainly return to this shop in the future when I inevitably need more major work done. (70,000 miles without a single engine issue so far, which means my Subaru is well-overdue, lol.)
