My kids and brother and I had such a fun time trading cards here today! They went above and beyond with swag and below tcg and retail prices. Yes its in the mall but totally worth the trip for a family fun experience!
Traded in a a bunch of my cards and got fair value. Dana is very helpful and friendly. Would recommend
Went into store looking for a magic the gathering draft booster box, asked worker, was given this one box they had, was good news that they had one. After buying it I get to the car notice it’s a Set booster box. Not a draft booster box like I was looking for. Went back in and worker said I couldn’t return it even though it’s obviously still their box with the sticker and wrapping still all on it, and me buying it maybe 5 minutes max prior to trying to return it. I could have got this product that was sold to me cheaper as well. I’m not even mad at paying the price, especially since they are in stock at a local store and I don’t have to order from a big website, but the fact that an employee sold me something I didn’t ask for, and when I tried returning it I couldn’t is ridiculous. 1 star service for sure. I literally paid over 120$ for a product I didn’t want.
I always have a great experience at this store. Usually I get Magic cards and board games for myself and they have a decent collection. Love to see the variety, from really basic games like Uno/Spot-it to better board games. Theres also unexpectedly a lot of fan stuff, so its easy to pick up something themed for a friend. Its also a great place to shop if you have anyone in your life into Pokemon. They have mystery boxes and card boxes with a good array of things. My nieces/nephews are always so excited to get their stuff. Staff members have always been really helpful, and their Pokemon Guy (Dana (sp?)) is incredibly helpful if you have no idea what to get a Pokemon fan in your life. I absolutely recommend this store.
Prices on the Pokémon cards are outrageous. Most of the items were listed at double MSRP. With a problem with scalpers and pricing…this store takes the cake. 25th celebrations etb is listed at 49.99 the store has it at 99.99. Shining fates etb at 100.00. Sad really. I could understand 60-65max for the both etbs. Pikachu 25th anniversary base set listed at 10.00. eBay resent sold are 1-5.00
I felt the store and its product was very disorganized. I felt for being a game store there was a lot more toys than games. I felt like if you where looking for something like star wars toys or Pokemon toys, they where in multiple spots. Also prices where a bit all over the place from fair to over MSRP for some brand new Pokemon product. Not worth going out of the way for but its alright if your in the area.
Ask for Shari, she gives excellent service. Been going here for years, as a little bit of a family tradition, best shank steak anywhere in the IL valley area. Its a little gamey, but well worth the drive!
All of the single cards they sell are way overpriced which is the reason theyre still in the case after several months. Not a soul wants to buy them. The actual products they sell are also overpriced. I remember asking how much a Shining Fates etb was and they said $110. Thats embarrassing. I had no words so I just left the store. Might I add that Ive only had a good experience with two of the workers in the past, but now everyones just extremely rude. The store has gone downhill and is honestly a joke.
Great little shop to visit. I am fairly new to the in depth board game scene, but the guy there had a great energy and told us what games my group would like. We tried one out (Kingsburg) and he was right. I will be back again. You can probably find the games for a bit cheaper online, but Im willing to support a good business who is still in business.
I like this store so much I get a punch of my single pokémon cards for my master sets here.
Today, I invited my brother to come to this store with me, and he refused which was unusual because he loves coming here. I asked him why he didn’t want to go and he didn’t want to tell me, so I didn’t think too much of it and went by myself. When I got back home, I inquired a bit more as to why he didn’t go. He told me the last time he was there, which was a couple days ago (I think Thursday around noon), that while he was paying, an employee made a comment saying something along the lines of “When was the last time you washed your hands? You probably haven’t showered today either.”Needless to say, I am completely shocked by this comment. This is a horrifically offensive comment. I understand the need for being concerned about washing hands these days, but to ask a customer when was the last time they showered? That is completely unacceptable, especially while they are paying the store money. He was so offended by this comment that he was too embarrassed to tell me what happened. Both me and my brother like this store a lot and we visit fairly often, but honestly, I won’t be returning unless this employee no longer works for this store.
2 gentlemen that work there were very kind and patient with me and my wife, but I’ve visited a couple times after that and I came across 2 other men that work there, that are just so rude and impatient with people they didn’t even want to show me some cards I was asking to see. I’ll give it a 3 star because of the great experience I had with the first 2 gentlemen. Those other 2 need to learn how to interact with people and stop being so awkward and rude!
It was alright I guess but I tried to show the person my cards because I have this small book of Pokémon. It’s not the binder it’s those small ones. He said “I don’t have enough time to see them” there was 15 minutes left like dang. They have a good stock of Pokémon but the people were somewhat ok. I like going there but today there was people swearing. It’s not a bad store just some of the people are mean I guess idk
They massively overcharge for their rare pokemon collectables. 800 for a psa 3 charizard thats worth around 300, 1000 for a base set booster pack worth around 450, 500 for a 1st edition team rocket booster pack. All of these you can buy for much much less off ebay and a couple other reputable sources that give you a money back quaratnee.
They have preorders for Chilling Reign for $60 a box and $160 per booster box. What a joke.
Dirty store. Guy was on computer looking at Facebook/Onlyfans. Customer service was bad they were slow at knowing about products and seemed mad helping.
Awesome place I use to attend the card tournaments when they had them
The workers were so friendly, you can play games there, and they have a fun riddle to solve! I highly recommend this place!
HUGE selection of games and cards, it was a little overwhelming until an awesome employee stepped up to talk to me about what games I liked. They showed me tons of interesting games that are now on my wish list. The employee was clearly knowlegable, and even had demos to example game play to make my purchasing decision easier.
4 STARS place is clean nice people excellent and kind employees but only problem place is small its kind of cramped and the table i was sitting at had random costumers walking behind you and it was weird on how they just stand there and watch and touch your cards and stuff the people i dueled were kind nice even gave me a free card so i would recommend going its worth it. Yu-Gi-Oh day was on November 23 of 2019 hope you enjoy your stay in Chicago 🙂🙂🙂Location: Water Tower PlaceCity: Chicago
Had an absolutely terrible experience here with one of the employees working the register in the evening. He failed to mention information about a product that employees at Gamers World were instructed to mention. When i returned 10 minutes after purchase the aforementioned employee laughed and refused to offer any help. I returned 2 days later and both employees working there were immediately able to identify the problem, apologize for their co-workers actions, and was able to allow me to exchange the item for what I originally was here to buy. Extremely satisfied by the staff I encountered today, just a shame that 1 employee can create such an issue.
If youre looking for games you cant find. Try this place. Thousands in stock. Knowledgable staff.
Cool game !!! I have all the levels finished and got achivement. bad ice cream 3 is best goldy games on hudgames
I come here almost every week and am highly satisfied with the selection and pricing of the trading cards.
A bit overpriced, but they have a good selection of board games. Staff were helpful and brought out a few games for myself and my daughter to try. We often stop with tour groups and this is generally my hangout while wasting time.
Dont know what other reviews are talking about, great hobby store with AMAZING selection and staff. Dave helped me, and was very knowledgeable. Since he had played a lot of the games he was able to find a great game for me.EDITI know what other reviews are talking. Card purchases are a living nightmare. The employees will swear, swindle and chest you when trying to sell cards. Took my card and then said why I dont want them 15 minutes later. A manager need two step in and handle this horrific associate.
Good for looking at games you may not have seen, but historically I have found significantly better deals online compared to in store prices (up to $20 difference). If it were a small chain shop I could get behind it, but as a chain Im not on board.
Ive been on and off visiting the store on multiple occasions and have come to know a few of the employees and regulars . So lets list some pros and cons.Pros. Pretty decent community with events almost every day.. Knowledgeable staff (in there respective specialty). Great place to meet new people with similar interestsCons. Though the staff in knowledgeable in what they know they dont know much about other things, example the yugioh guy knows pretty much only yugioh and so on. Selection kind of sucks for singles. Trade in values they offer on bulk and some of singles are a jokeSummary: pretty fun place with friendly faces would recommend but not for trading stuff in
I buy Yu-Gi-Oh singles and they had a lot of old cards, but not too many new or good ones. Overall its a nice play to find cheap Yu-Gi-Oh cards.
Way too expensive
So helpful. Good pricing and selection. Got to go visit.
I bought a zombie knife!!!!
Great for gamers, although they didnt have too much Settlers of Catan expansions, only ones I already had....
This is a small store filled with lot of toys, puzzles, games, card games, and memorabilia. Nice yo stop by and see what cool new things they have
I love the games and figures they have.
They have some pretty unique games an gadgets that are hard to find!
Seems pretty cool, but one employee was kinda rude but it was all good because i laughed it off. I couldnt find the yugioh cards and he asked me if i was kidding because it was on the counter. Couldnt find many packs except for one but the store seems ok but that one employee kinda made me not want to go there again.
Very original. I loved the concept of custom legos for a warhammer game style
This place sells a large variety of bootleg items. I would not trust the authenticity of anything in the store.
Staff was friendly and helpful. Selection was good too.
Great selection of games and pokemon for days!
Lots of variety. The storekeepers we very very knowledge able about the games we looked at and we able to suggest several other options.
Nice store, great selection.
Unique store! Kids loved it
Its a fun place with people who live what they and they are very cheep
This place is a damn joke! They never have anybody in until like 5pm to price yugioh cards. I found this out because I drove all the way out there and the guy at the counter refused to price them for me. He said how many do you have? I told him about 30 but in reality it was more like 10 because I had copies of cards, but he still said no thats to much. He knew how to do it he was just being lazy! There was no one in the store but he refused and said someone would be in around 5. If you are running a inport and export business and all of your people are not trained. Its a joke. The place opens at 10 and closes at 9. Your telling me that for for almost 7 hours a day you dont have some in until the last 4 hours of the day. So now I would have to come in and wait in a line for probably an hour, because everyone has to rush in and get to the only person in the whole store that knows how to price yugioh at once since there is such a little amount of time before this place even closes. Also good luck getting there around 5 with traffic and then finding a spot. HA! All the while they are ripping you off because they can. What nice guys. Lastly it is not hard to price any card or train someone to. You just have to look it up on the owners perfect site they probably look for a medium and then give you about 70% of its price in store credit or if you want cash which would be like 50% of its price, if they feel like giving you cash that day. fun fact they can decide if they want to give you cash or store credit depending on how much they have made that day.
Hey Gamers World: your dice game is fukcing WEAK. I called ahead of time to ask if they stocked Chessex dice, guy on the phone said yes. Bit of a stretch, that. There were exactly THREE d6 sets. Absolutely pitiful. Dont get my hopes up if youre only going to give me that kind of selection.Warning: They obviously have a MTG bias, but if you play any tabletop rpg besides D&D or Pathfinder, youll be out of luck here.Just made me sad, honestly.
I was given 1,000 yu-gi-oh cards from a friend. I dont play yu-gi-oh, so I figured I was going to trade in the cards for store credit so that I could pick up some magic cards. I was offered 4 measly dollars for ONE THOUSAND cards. They expect to give me 1 cent for 400 cards and then take away 600 but not give me ANY kind of credit?! Last time I shop there.
Helpful staff nice environment.
Not overly friendly staff, most things over priced and selection could be better
Neat store.
Ive been to this store many times & they have AWFUL customer service almost sarcastic at times towards me. Go to Baseline inc in Schaumburg for your Magic/Yugioh needs.
The games were ok prices were to much
I tried selling some cards and the lady said shed hold on to them and give me a call after they looked them over. Well, they didnt. They never called me about paying for my cards. I went over there to ask why they never called about my cards and they just told me that they didnt have any of my cards. Funny.
Over price products and customer service sucks,...
Way over priced
Adequate service.
Interesting store
Worst behavior from store sales person in the store.
Friendly staff!
