The pastries there are out of this world. Just so yall can see what lm talking about, check-out the pics Ive posted along with this review. The pastries are artistically designed the cakes are awesome, not only are they delicious, but they are so artistically crafted that they can easily be placed in any confectioners museum and it feels as if it would be a mortal sin to just have a knife near any of these cakes, let alone slice into one of em - wink-wink... The coffee there is also great, with a wide variety and an assorted selection of blends. Any caffeine lover would feel at home here. Theres also a great lounge area inside to sit and enjoy any delight you choose, and if you wish to enjoy your coffee outdoors, then you can go outside and chill in their patio-like area and bask in the breeze...Have fun!

The best tasting quality cakes I have ever ordered besides my 1 private cake maker Grace Flagg in Averill Park. These cakes are creamy and moist.Best flavor I have ever tasted. Villa Italia makes your cake the same day within 1 to 2 hours which is so convenient when you have an emergency. The cookies 🍪 & pastries are phenomenal with such a wide variety of types and fancy ones.

I havent been here in ages and was worried, like most else, that this place would suffer due to the pandemic.I couldnt have been pleased to be MORE wrong.The treats are STILL delectable. The facility is STILL immaculate, but most of all? The staff is SO NICE and treats you like you really are a valued customer.I dont go out a lot as a general rule, but if youre an extrovert or you just love good pastry, you cant go wrong by stopping in here! Its lovely both inside and out.5 stars. A+. THIS is how its done!

Come off the high horse and do better with customer service.After ordering a birthday cake and being explicit about the color and type of decorations on the cake, upon pick up, the color was incorrect on the cake. Their was no manager on at night toCorrect the mistake, therefore my information was taken and I was told I would be reached out to tomorrow. The owner Bob, contacted me the next day and offered $20 in return for the cost I paid for the additional decorations. I told him that was fine, although the cake being made incorrectly completely ruined a birthday theme. Upon arriving to receive the credit, I was told that only $15 was being given because that’s what I paid. Although my receipt said $20. It was explained that the owner made a mistake(see the trend) and that it was confirmed(by the same staff who incorrectly placed my order) that I paid $15 xtra. No confirmation phone call was made to me to confirm what I paid, before arrival and the owner didn’t offer to come out to double check. After I confronted the owner about the second mistake (on the phone) his establishment made, no ownership or accountability was taken, nor an apology given. My only option was to come and pick up $5 or get mailed a check. Even after explaining, I shouldn’t have to pay for anything given my inconvenience. The owner continued to not acknowledge his or his staffs wrong doing(no surprise).This is also my second and last cake where the order was wrong.It’s very easy for white owned, popular business to lose focus of customer service, especially when your family owns many Schenectady restaurants. I however will not forget your lack of tact and accountability.

Villa Italia bakery recently did cake and cupcakes for my wedding and our guests LOVED all the sweets! Thank you so much for making our dessert vision come to life!

First off, there was not a single mask to be found on any employee. Zero.Secondly, despite there being literally more employees than customers when I was in there, it was still a frustrating and disorganized mess, leaving the few that were in line stuck waiting for service. Is it possible that every single person behind the counter was a brand new hire and this was their first day? I guess it must have been, because not a single one of them seemed to know what she was doing. If I wasnt so concerned about the plauge that is running wild, or the shops hilariously blatant disregard of mask policy to keep their customers and employees safe, the putrid level of service would almost be funny.Buuuut, it wasnt.This bad review wont change a thing, because this place is too big to care, but if youre out in the world looking for a responsible bakery that cares about doing the right thing as well as treating their customers well, maybe stay out of this place.

My husband and I chose to order our wedding cake and cupcakes from Villa Italia, and we were SO happy with them. They have a VERY large variety of flavor options for cake, filling and frosting. We were blown away by how beautiful, moist, and delicious everything was. And, I found their prices, including delivery charge, to be very reasonable.

Got the ice cream cake from here. They even flash freeze these for you if you have a drive longer than 30 minutes and are afraid the ice cream might melt. The cake was amazing and would recommend for sure.

Spectacular Italian bakery!The hidden gem here is the gelato. For those with lactose intolerance, they always have lemon sorbetto.So stop in for a gelato, and leave with a dozen assorted pastries, you will not be disappointed. A great way to start a Sunday afternoon!

Villa Italia was a great bakery for our wedding. We loved doing the cake tasting and the vision for what we wanted our cake to be was exactly what we received; it was also incredibly delicious! Villa Italia was extremely understanding when we had to push our wedding back a year during covid, and was incredibly helpful in delivering the cake to our wedding venue. We could not be happier in choosing Villa Italia.

The pastries and cookies are delicious! I tried the Jamaican rum cake it was so moist and the flavor was spot on. Also had a cannoli was by far the best i’ve ever had! The carrot cake is a party favorite. I definitely recommend this place for all occasions or even on a ordinary day just to have a delicious treat! You should try something different every time, you’ll never know what will be your favorite.

Ordered a large vanilla cappuccino, 2 specialty chocolate mice, and an almond bearclaw danish. 1st of all- all of that was a hair over $10. Unheard of!!! 2nd of all- everything was absolutely delicious!!! My husband and I were very happy, and satisfied. A++++

During my visit at Villa Italia the wait and operation procedures for handling clients with orders pre made in advance and those clients coming in were mismanaged and incompetent in consideration of COVID restrictions. The store was packed and the manager or owner I assume because she was the only one not in attire had allowed a customer to skip more than 20 people for an order per made and then claim she was unaware of the process when the tickets are at the front and a number sign is above behind the counter. Their cakes taste great, however the experience was Risky for those concerned about close proximity of others in small spaces and fairness for all clients and not being exclusive to particular clients. They need to improve their processing of clients with pre orders and walk ins. Especially on holidays where you receive an abundance of people it is no surprise be prepared. 5p’s prior planning prevents poor performance. You guys performed poorly on 5/8 at 12:00pm. Please improve your service process and I’ll improve my review rating. I have hope for your guys. Sincerely.

The high quality of their products are accompanied by a terrible service, they do not have empathy to the treatment and they are rude and discriminatory with the clients. A place to which I am unlikely will return.

There is currently no dine-in lunch but there is a full array of pastries, cakes, sweet treats and Gelato cakes. There is hand sanitizer as soon as you walk in. Everyone has face masks on and there are social distancing dots on the floor for spacial awareness. The treats were fresh and absolutely delicious!

Overpriced, not really good. cheese danish had no cheese, but you will choke on the amount of cinnamon. other pastrys were dry, mediocre.

The rugalach is the best weve ever had. The cakes and pastries are second to none. The Gelato is great, and the service is always wonderful. Definitely worth the trip to Schenectady, every time.

I got my daughters birthday cake from here. The process was very easy. I met with someone as soon as I walked in and she walked me through the process and gave me options for every detail of the cake. The price was fair and the cake ended up looking and tasting amazing.

I love this place! Seriously anyone who loves a delicious pastry or confection needs to hit this place up asap! They partnered with coco bar for valentines day this year and made some yummy delights for your special someone. They may still have some left. Also tried the fruit smoothies which are just as incredible. All the flavors are fantastic!

I recently ordered one for my moms birthday in August,couldnt have been happier with the outcome. Their staff is very professional and helpful. Their always smiling which as customers can be very inviting. Everything is always fresh and their gelatos are so amazing! This business deserves 5 stars and more.

Our wedding was on the farm in gilboa that you so graciously travelled extra to deliver to us.My wife and I wanted to write you because we couldnt believe how moist and flavorful our cake was after a year!We had a wedding one week prior to the one you did as a small ceremony. We had a cake made from long island. We ate that cake last week and it was terrible.But when we unwrapped yours we couldnt believe the burst of flavor and how moist! A local favorite of mine, whether for a coffee and lunch or for their many desserts and pastries. Their gelato is also a nice treat! The staff and manager are the best and go out of their way to help every customer.

The store does not adhere to current mask protocols that NYS has in place. They allowed a customer to enter and stay in the store WITHOUT a mask; putting myself and everyone else at risk. When I asked the clerk to do something she responded rudely with “well what do you want me do about it?” Its truly unfortunate.

I ordered a cake for a special event, and as always, was wowed by how beautiful and delicious the cake was. Everyone at the event asked where it came from, it was so outstanding. This is at least the tenth time I have used Villa Italia for a special occasion cake, and they have never disappointed me. Terrific bakery! I also really enjoy their lunch fare, and it is a fun spot to meet a friend for coffee and a bakery item for a treat.

Prices way out of line for little product ripping people off blue rose much better they are fair prices and better products sad that they are taking advantage of people during covid!!!!

Would have given five stars but i had to deduct one star for the wait time. you enter and take a number like at a deli counter and wait your turn. even if you ordered a week ahead and scheduled a 12:30 pick up time for your daughters cake you still need to take a number and wait a good 20-30 minutes to pick up said cake. other than that it is absolutely amazing.

I walk by this bakery each day before work and recently bought pies for Easter. I am looking forward to eating these for Easter! I am writing because the customer service here is great and deserves a rating. The owner is always pleasant and greets several customers including myself- despite how busy they can be. The entire staff seems genuine, kind, and welcoming. There is a great atmosphere to this bakery which is why I think it is a very special place!

I ordered an assortment of pastries and gelato because everything looked so good. The place looks very clean and nice, but the pastries are just not good. The flavors were bad from the cookies to the biscotti and cannolis.

Loved this place and as a surprise my husband told me that this is where he has been getting surprise cakes for us too. Looks like everyone loves it in our family.

The very best for pastries in Schenectady, if not the entire Capital Region. Only thing to note is that it gets EXTREMELY crowded during Holiday Seasons. If youre picking up a tray of pastries for X-Mas or the like, be ready to wait in a long line.

Since my wedding cake almost 20 years ago I have had villa make All cakes for my kids Birthdays..Friends family baby showers.. Christening you name it and they have always done an amazing job Most recent was my daughters 13th birthday cake and theyve done 18 for my son...Never a disappointment..Best!!!

We go there every time we are anywhere close (we live in Canada). We are there every year for a dance camp for my daughter and we came upon it by accident four years ago when we were looking for a place for a coffee and snack, now we look forward to it as part of our camp drop off and pick up ritual. The place is spotless, the pastries amazing, the service great. Their sandwiches and salads are great and the coffee is the best in town.

We had a great experience with Villa Italia for our wedding cake! Villa Italia has an excellent reputation in the Albany-area. Due to its popularity, you have to make a tasting and professional consultation appointment months ahead of time. There was a slight mix-up with our cake tasting appointment but Villa Italia were very professional about it. They quickly rectified their mistake and accommodated our originally scheduled date and time, despite another couple being accidentally scheduled at the same time.Our wedding cake was outstanding! The decorations on the cake were absolutely beautiful! They had numerous cake flavors, fillings, and frostings for us to choose from and we were able to taste all of them during our tasting and consultation appointment. This made it very easy to make our final selections. Our guests loved the fact that each layer of the cake was a different flavor! We were very satisfied and highly recommend Villa Italia! It definitely lived up to its reputation!
