This bakery is a secret gem. I drive 30 min to come since there is nothing close to this in Hillsborough. I grew up in Fanwood and then Watchung, our birthday cakes were always from the Swiss Pastry shop. On short notice they made a chocolate mousse cake for us, they are simply the best!

I would give this a 10 star review. The owner is amazing! Best quality cakes! I love this place. We go every Saturday and pick up cookies and breads.

Local bakery makes great danish and cookies. For me, other items (e.g. cakes, cupcakes, etc.) have been hit it miss but you cant go wrong with or find fresher, better tasting danish/pastries. My favorite is the crumb danish and I recommend it highly as long as you leave one for me.

I wish I could show the cake I ordered from this great pastry shop. It was a Strawberry Short Cake with whipped cream icing. Not only was it beautiful, it was huge and DELICIOUS. It was for my sister’s birthday and she absolutely loved it. Everyone raved about the lite taste and fresh strawberry filling. Everything we have bought from here over the years never yields disappointment. We love this place and the service has always been top notch.

I once worked in Plainfield at a local utility company, on my drive in, I often stopped fir coffee but one particular day more than 20 years ago I stopped at this wonderful baker. It was a pastry paradise! I ordered a Blueberry Muffin, it was unlike anything I had before! This muffin is the best ever and today I am still in love with them ! I drive from Roselle at least 3x a month to enjoy them, my family members are now making trips from Rahway and Elizabeth to have them. Hidden Treasure ❤️

This bakery makes the BEST blueberry muffins and linzer tarts around!!!Also the challah rolls n prune danish. There are too many items to add. I just love this bakery!!

My wife and I had our wedding cake done here 4 years ago.. It was tremendous.. The owner (John) is so nice and he is excellent at his craft. My wife and I return on our anniversary every year to get another cake.

I hope John the baker is around for many more years. I cant say enough about his cakes his cookies or his other pastries. He is a great guy. His family work there and they treat their customers like family. John is the cake bomb. Forget about those cake celebrities on TV. Your products cant hold a candle to Johns products. The one cake guy came to Westfield and didnt last long. John keeps it simple. All homemade products made fresh with Johns personality. Keep in mind he is getting up there in age and has more fortitude than a person half his age. His son helps him and is a great baker also.

Food here is generally good, although expensive, but the customer service is hit or miss. The kids who work here are usually friendly and helpful, but more than once I was completely ignored while waiting to order.

This less a review than a confession. Its two weeks before Christmas - in the COVID era - and Swiss Pastry is hopping.I got my usual raisin buns and pecan danish - tasty, fresh, and moist. (We dont get over here often.)The stars of the show were the seasonal goodies. The plain stollen is graced with plenty of fruit, sufficient butter (?) to keep it moist and rich, nice spicing including mace, etc. The sugar sprinkles on the surface was perhaps too generous, but flavored well with vanilla. Nice touch. Theres also a marzipan Stollen that I didnt get.I added some rugelach, choosing the raspberry, but there were easily six other options! If you arent familiar with them, theyre a real treat. These are the best Ive ever had. One piece - delicious - with coffee is very satisfying. Were set for season.Its worth pointing out that this visit wasnt cheap, it WAS good value. We dont have many artisan bakeries any more. Well be back to support them!

A typical mom and pop bakery with a European touch. The lady behind the counter is Polish and was very helpful. Their seven layer cake is awesome. This is not high end bakery but it still is a great place to satisfy your sweet tooth. Friendly people and very affordable prices. Loved my visit and my great conversation with the Polish lady was one of the main reasons why I will remember this place fondly.

I custom ordered a black forest cake for my husband birthday and was not disappointed! Absolutely beautiful to look at and tasted even better! Not to mention almost half the price of Bovella’s. Highly recommend this great mom and pop bakery.

In all of the bakeries that I have been visiting in New York, Connecticut, and in New Jersey, this family owned bakery should get more than 5 stars in my book. Because the Bakery Lady showed me the 🎂 and if it was done correctly/as is. And she also told me to mostly put your cake below the seat of the passenger side of the 🚗 where the rug is, not on top of the seat of the car, because if you put the 🎂 on the top of the seat of the passenger side and you stop forcefully at a red light, the cake will easily be damaged/ruined. How many bakeries will tell you about this. Not too many. This bakery has been here for a very long time and I hope it goes well with this bakery in the near future.

So it’s now Mother’s Day. I called Swiss Pastry because of their Rugelach. Unfortunately, a snide and rude young lady answered the phone. She quickly said order on line and hung up. Well, trying to find the right format to order on line is next to impossible because I get all sorts of Rugelach made by all sorts of people but not Swiss Pastry. I love your products but getting help if you want to order something in advance has a lot to be desired.

This place makes the best Parker House rolls I have had since the 80s when I used to get them from a bakery in Plfd on the way to school. Definitely worth the trip!

The Swiss pastry shop and its owner John cioffi are well above a 5-star rating. John uses high quality dark chocolate to make his chocolate trimmed pastries. Along with only the highest quality ingredients. We are so lucky he graces our town with his skill. Considering John work for the UN building at one time and has made pastries and cakes for heads of state from around the world.

I wish there would be more businesses like this everywhere. Small baker, amazing products and courteous, family oriented service. My new go to shop for baked good.

Ethereal- the baked goods here are from another world- The Cheesecake is hands down better than any Ive ever had. Bagels are not too big and nice and light. Croissants are Parisian quality. This small gem of a bakery is not to be missed!!!!

One of my absolute favorite places. They know me well and let me know it. Cant get much better than this really. Family place, wonderful food, and warm personalities to bring it all together.

The best bakery in town Yes better than Carlos bakery. Try the chocolate fudge cookies but I warn you they can be a addiction. This bakery makes you feel right at home.
