Amazingly easy delivery order!Went online, ordered exactly what I needed without any issues. Booked a 4 hour window for a Saturday delivery and they called to ask if they could come 15 minutes early- which I LOVED! The garden was done by 10:30am and we had the rest of the day to just relax.Excellent service, arrived exactly when they said they would and were incredibly nice and easy to work with.

Great price, excellent service, simple ordering process and On Time delivery! I needed about 3 yards of gravel for my project, went to their website, which was incredible easy to navigate with all the stone options and descriptions. Found what I was looking for at a great price, selected my delivery day and times, and placed the order. Received a call on the delivery day informing me they will be on site in 30 min. The truck showed up on time, the driver was incredibly friendly, and dropped the stone right in my driveway where I wanted it, chatted for a few min and then he left. The stone looked great, basically no stone dust, maybe one swipe of the broom to clean the driveway was all that was needed when I was done. Again great company, friendly employees, if you need stone or mulch make sure to check these guys out!

High quality, dry wood, split in a variety of sizes. I realized one night that I was going to be out of wood, and I had guests coming over the next day for a patio fire. I was able to place an order online around 9PM, and my wood was delivered early the next morning. This place is the best you can order on line and they deliver right to your driveway. If you have a pick up you just drive and they put whatever youre getting on your truck. If you live withing a certain distance and order more than a yard its free delivery. Its reasonable. It beats buying bags at home depot. The prices are reasonable. Many homeowners dont do the math and its cheaper at the yard. Best place around and the staff are professional and straightforward.

First time to get mulch and fertilizer from the yard and the experience was great! They called me to tell me that some bagged soil amendments are not available, also told me that it can be delivered one day earlier. We were not ready so still use the original delivery date.The cedar mulch I got is great. The delivery is on time and professional.I actually only need 2.5 yards but the website only allows me to choose 2 or 3 and I forgot to ask for that in the call.The PayPal payment method seemed not work so made payment with credit card.Will use them again next time and I will consider the yard for other supplies if can be found there. .

The Yard always delivers on time and their materials are top notch. I have used them several times. If they need to change or fix something they communicate well and operate quickly. Recently they delivered the wrong color mulch but fixed the issue in less than 24 hours. When you call, a person picks up and helps you with whatever you need. It’s a well run business and reasonably priced.

My husband and I, last minute, decided we wanted to get topsoil, mulch and grass seed for our yard. I was highly impressed that we were able to get a quick delivery date. The Yard called me the day before to confirm receipt of my order and let me know the approximate time of the delivery. The morning of I received a call because the mulch we wanted wasn’t in stock. Although this was a bummer we were able to swap out for a different kind with no problem. Regardless the professionalism was on point and we will definitely order from them again.

Easy, quick ordering. Great turn around time

The material is very nice. It was delivered quickly, actually the day before I expected it (they checked if it was ok). The only reason I would consider another supplier next time was the delivery fee. I ordered 8 yards and delivery to East Brunswick was $136. That was 50% the total cost of the material. I knew that going in and I agreed to it so no big deal. I’m sure the fuel and drive time factors in to the cost. I would just find someone closer to deliver it for less next time.

Ordered a cord of firewood last week from the website. Super easy to navigate and schedule the delivery. Called before they came. Some places sell a cord and cheat the customer but that was not the case here ! When you order a cord you get a true full cord. Great price and great customer service. I will use again and have already recommended to others !

I do not know how to start with this other than someone ordered from this company under my name and using my E-mail. I informed this company of this that I live in Texas and not New Jersey and they did not even acknowledge it. They are even using my E-mail for a rating on a transaction I did not do. Im sure they deal with quality products but how they handle their office problems is less than desirable.

My experience with The Yard was exceptional from stsrt to finish. I purchased online which was seamless however I had to change the delivery date and was helped with no issues to make the change . I called to confirm my delivery the day before and April in the office was friendly and professional. The day of delivery they called me to expect them. Driver was there quickly wore his mask and was friendly. Products were exceptional and I will definitely purchase again and recommend them to friends and family. Service is great. I ordered 6 cu. yds. of mushroom soil conditioner. I live almost 2 hours away, and it got dropped off the next day. I also added on to the order with no issue.As far as the product, its very loose, sandy soil. Im adding it to beds Im creating in my yard-- one of them is currently grass and many volunteers, the other has leaves down, then a layer of grass clippings. So, lets see how it works out.

Wish I had some of these reviews before buying from The Yard. Purchased “black top soil” from them which I was not impressed with one bit. The soil looked more like mulch then top soil, now my lawn is littered with more weeds then before. All of the weeds are new growth, so beware before buying from this place.Had someone come to look to do tree work in my backyard, he took one look at the top soil, picked it up and said, “let me guess, you bought this from The Yard in Scotch Plains..” and then just shrugged his shoulders and shook his head.. it’s bad when others in the industry can tel where you got material from. Wish I had used my credit card because I would dispute the charge based on a terrible product.

Caution ! They mixed their topsoil with an insane amount of sand. The sand ratio is so crazy my backyard turned into beach. They don’t even list the “sand “ in their ingredient list posted on their websiteI called to complain; The first person I spoke to said “they would never do such a thing”. I asked for the owner/ manager to call me back, but I never received a call back. I kept calling and after 2 months the owner, Kenny finally returned my call and accepted the fact that the topsoil is a 40-30% sand mix !!I believe what was delivered had a sand ratio that was likely 50%. After the first rain my backyard basically turned to a beach. Since they didn’t mix well there are all sand patches on my yard.Fertilizer was also added, which seems like a good idea, but it is in chunks and not or well mixed. Chunks can be as big as an egg, which ended up burning and killing the grass around them.

I was in a bind and needed 3 yards of sand to be delivered that Monday, for the pool installation. I placed the order on a Saturday afternoon on line. On Sunday they called me and delivered the 3 yards on Sunday. Great service and quick turnaround, I highly recommend The Yard.

We have ordered “seasoned” firewood in the past and have been very happy, but not this year. We ordered enough to last us two seasons (which is a lot!) and it came not seasoned properly. The wood was literally boiling in our fire pit. We took pictures and sent The Yard pictures and our feedback and we received no response. This is disappointing and we will not be ordering from here again unless they can make this right. Not only do we have so much wet wood now, but we also paid extra for the seasoned wood. I would be more than happy to update this post to a five star review if they would only get back to me and acknowledge my complaint.

I Always buy locally sourced compost and topsoil from these guys. They are very kind and courteous and always on time. Their delivery people are always friendly as well.

This company upsells the stock, which they dont have.They took money upfront through the website; we paid it through the website after getting oral confirmation to deliver on the same day.They promised to deliver the same day, i.e., Saturday called again to postpone to Sunday. I called again on Sunday for Monday, Called Monday again for Thursday. Thursday they didnt call, whey I called. They mentioned that the supplier had promised them, but no idea when they get it.Not reliable. I suggest: dont pay upfront, even though they promise.

Well, it was the second time I ordered from The Yard. The first time, I did not bother to write a review. This time, I felt that their service was quite consistent and I should say something nice about it. First of all, ordering the material was easy. I did it on their website. The first time, I did not know what I need so I called them. The gentleman was very helpful. Second time, I knew exactly what I wanted, so it was a no-brainer. I got on the website, select what I wanted to order, wrote the instruction where I wanted them to be dropped off, which was my drivieway. The usual delivery time is the very next day since I always ordered my stuff late in the day. Then about 1/2 hour before delivery, the driver would call you to make sure there was no misunderstanding where I wanted the stuff to be dropped off. The driver made an effort to avoid over-spilling the material over the driveway onto my lawn. If you had stones or gravels covering your lawn, it only took a few days for the grass to die off almost certainly. By the way, if you used the coupon, 2115yd, you got $5 off the order which was a nice thing for me and I appreciated that since I was a returning customers. I plan on ordering again from The Yard soon for the second phase of my project. Overall, I was very happy. The material that I ordered was delivered swiftly, and more importantly, accurately.

Trust builds relationships and a lot of customers. Knowing you get what you paid for today is paramount.I ordered 1.5 to 3 inch Delaware River stone, 16 cubic yards, a truck load. I was told that there was some big softball size rocks in there. To my disappointment, over half of the load was over 3 inches size rock, really bad. Terrible to work with, a huge time waster even after shared with them the application. They should of said that would not work. On top of that, the load was a day late, even after the date was confirmed on a Saturday before a Monday delivery. They lost the truck, and I had to call them to track it, and they said the truck broke down. So I got my load on Tuesday. This put me behind and of course I had to deal with what I had. Always confirm, what they mean by some because some rock may be as large as a softball, turn out to most of it being as large as a softball even after I shared the application, gravel parking area.I went with LMI for my second load and layer, one day later, on time. They had a problem by 9 AM they were on the phone with me working it out, and still had my load by the afternoon.

I order mushroom soil which is really good but it felt short so I need to order more second order is not as good as first one it was not even mushroom soil it’s just black top soil, so if you don’t have mushroom soil then don’t take orders…

We bought several strips of sod from The Yard, and about half of the sod delivered was brownish yellow and terrible looking. We called The Yard, and were told there was nothing they would do for us. We would have to buy more sod to replace the dead sod. Terrible experience and I’m so disappointed in their product. Don’t buy here!
