GRS has got to be the top repair shop in in the region. They did a very thorough and detailed evaluation of one vintage electric bass in serious disrepair while I waited, gave a fair estimate for repairs and an honest timeline for the project. Their benches are right there in the shop and it was a pleasure to watch them work and have a chance to talk about vintage gear. I will be taking my entire collection of old axes, acoustic and electric, to GRS from now on.

I brought my bass in for electronics modifications and to my ears, it is now comparable to much more expensive basses Ive played. I would highly recommend Bobby for any guitar/bass modifications.

I brought a guitar that was in pretty bad shape into Bob after being told by Guitar Center that my truss rod was shot. He looked it over and sure enough truss rod worked fine. All other issues were addressed and guitar was finished a week sooner than expected. Guitar plays perfectly and is as good as can be. Bob is a very good guitar repairman / technician. He knows his stuff. His prices are fair and he turns the work around in a reasonable amount of time. Hes done repairs / upgrades / setups on a few of my guitars and Ive been very happy with his work. Would highly recommend going to him if youre in need of work on a guitar or bass.

The luthier went above and beyond what was expected of him to make sure my instrument played properly. I went in to get a nut replacement and he added in string trees and had to fix a wiring issue for my guitar that he did for free. Will definitely be going here for all of my guitar repair needs.

Bobby was extremely helpful and patient with me as he explained how and why another repair shop actually did harm to my Taylor. He was then instrumental in getting it repaired. I trusted everything he said and appreciated his candor. I will absolutely be going back to to GRS in the future for any matters.

I was impressed at how fast Bobby fixed the tuning issue with my electric upright bass. I dont think I was there longer than 15 minutes. He took time to explain what was wrong with the tuning keys. I wouldve never known that otherwise. I will definitely be back in a few months for a setup for my 6-string bass!!!

Bobby wired up a set of Seymour Duncan distortions, high quality internals, installed and cut a new tusq nut, put on strap locks, and did a killer set up. Guitar plays and sounds like a dream! Brought in a B.C. Rich I havent picked up in a few years and I have had since 88 or so. I thought it would need major work, or at least a fret dressing. Time was taken to ask about how I liked the action and to explain everything that needed, to be done and that it wasnt in such bad shape after all. When I got it back, it was like a new guitar. Action and everything just how I wanted it. It was my first visit and Ill be back often for any repairs I need. Highly recommend.

Just brought my Taylor 210 for Bob to do a set up. A number of the strings were buzzing when Id play. Bob was extremely helpful, friendly and was able take care of the repair the same day. If you need any work done I would HIGHLY recommend Bob. Ill definitely be back with my other guitars.

I usually do my own setups, but figured I would give the new place in town a shot. Glad I did. Not only does Bobby do an excellent job, but his prices are fair. While setting up my guitar, he provided some extra services when he noticed my saddles could use some filing. He really knows his craft and takes pride in his work. This is by far the best shop in the area for any and all guitar/bass maintenance services. Bob is extrememly friendly, easy going and highly knowledgable about his craft. Bob has serviced 4 guitars for me so far and each one was setup to perfection. What I like about this shop is that its an actual commercial business location. For the last 8 years I have been getting my guitar maintenance done from people working out of their homes. I have no problem with that but the professionalism and customer service was always lacking. Each time I come here I know that my instruments are going to be set up properly with meticulous attention to detail. There has always been a fast turnaround so that you can play more and wait less. The prices are very reasonable and the shop even has a few items for sale too which are worth checking out. I highly recommend this shop for any and all guitar/bass players in the area!

Super happy with my recent service. Brought my craigslist strat in to be set-up, expecting just to drop it off. Bobby went through and checked everything first, then showed me everything that needed to be adjusted. Turns out my frets were pretty jacked up (I had no idea) so I had him take care of that too. Super quick turn around, made me play it and make sure I was happy before taking my money. Its weird to play it for the first time and have it feel like it should. I bought a 1990 Guild from someone off FB. Upon actually seeing the guitar, I was very disappointed. It was in terrible shape with really bad action and just seemed totally neglected for who knows how long. I traveled a distance to buy it as the price was great for such a vintage model and the pics looked great! It was not as advertised but I bought it anyway.I contacted Bobby Longo at Guitar Repair and Services in Scotch Plains, NJ and he agreed to take a look. After spending the time to evaluate the Guild, he explained to me what it needed and what he could do to breath new life into her.Less than a week later, this master guitarsmith made this once-thought clunker a sweet-playing bird with PERFECT action, and incredible sound! A great guy, very professional and quite reasonable! I am very happy to have met Bobby, and will be back to him again and again with my other guitars!
