Ive been going to this garage for about a year now. Tommy and the others are knowledgeable, professional, and prompt. Prices are usually lower than other places as well. About a month ago we bought 4 new tires from them, and when one caught a nail a few weeks later they patched it for free. Glad to find mechanics I can trust.

When I first moved to the area in 2015, a co-worker recommended I take my car to Scranton Auto Service. In the time since, I take my car here for everything except manufacturer recalls and auto body repairs...a few years later, my husband is now using them for servicing both his work vehicle and his personal car.Tom and John do great work, offer great, friendly customer service and charge you a fair price. When it comes to explaining the nature of the work that needs to be done they are great at offering recommendations. I have been extremely happy with anything Ive had done through Toms garage and as long as hes in business, Ill be bringing my cars to him for maintenance care!

Back in 2019 I was pregnant, I was traveling from Florida back to Massachusetts. Unfortunately my Jeep over heated and broke down on the highway in the middle of the night. I was freaking out because I had no heat, I was on a budge of money to get back home, I was hungry, I was sleepy ect. This shop was not even 3 minutes from my mom and I when we searched up auto shops near us. We had no choice but to sleep in the car freezing. No blankets no nothing. I had a terrible stressful night. Early in the morning I met the owner Tom and we explained our situation. He put two or three other cars to the side just to fix my water pump. And helped me out with a discount. He blessed me so much he’s the reason why we made it home safe. This shop values their customers, I was 100% satisfied! Great service! Very professional! Respectful! Highly recommend this place!

He does everything for me - maintenance, inspection, etc. He is very trustworthy. I usually leave my car there and pick it up when its done. He will only do what is needed to keep the car in good shape.

What a great experience, friendly and helpful. I was referred to Scranton Auto, after my breaklines blew. I knew nothing about where to go, how much or even how long the service was going to take. Let me say Tom answered the phone he told me he would call me and give me an estimate. That man called me twice to tell me what happened, he wasnt pushy at all, he answered all my questions and even gave me advice as if I was part of his family. I was so reassured that I found the right place. Tom said hed call around 2pm to give me an update he called right at 2pm to tell me my car was ready!! I had a great experience at this auto shop. They have a very friendly staff. I was greeted as soon as I entered the door. The mechanics know what exactly they were doing. I got a flat tire while on a day trip to Scranton, and it couldn’t have happened in a better location. The team at Scranton Auto Service we’re quick to take in my car while I continued on with my plans, and find a way to fix it before I had to drive back home at the end of the afternoon. Great, honest place. Ive been coming here for every oil change since I moved to Scranton, and I always get a full check-up, which is absolutely worth it. They not only let me know what needs to be fixed, but they let me know if its immediate or if I have time - which is really important with an older car. Usually they find things early enough to wait, and they ALWAYS give me an accurate estimate, so I can fit any big jobs into my budget. More importantly, once its done I know I dont have to worry about it anymore because the quality of work here is so high. Id recommend them to anyone in the Scranton area.

Firstly, when I arrived at the garage I was greeted so kindly and treated that way throughout my experience! I went to Scranton auto because I hit a pothole and my plastic engine splash guard was slightly damaged and hanging down. I broke down on Pittston ave. My lugs where entirely too tight from being put on with a power wrench. I drove down to these guys and they broke the lugs AND put the spare on for me free of charge. Great guys, great service. 10/10

I’ve been using scranton auto for a few years since coming to the area; and I’ve never been anything but completely satisfied with all aspects of their services provided! Friendly customer service, affordable pricing that beats every garage I’ve previously used, and they stand by the work they do. They’ve gotten me in when I’ve been in a pinch, and even offered free of charge rides so I wouldn’t have to sit and wait when I didn’t have someone to pick me up while work was being done. They will call you before any work is done so you’ll never have to worry about them running up a large tab to surprise you with, and they’ll offer you several options so you can decide what works best for you. It’s the owner and his mechanic of 20 years doing the work, which leaves me feeling very secure and confident in knowing exactly what I’m going to get each time, which is always superior to the average garage’s standards. I’ve referred several people, family and friends, to the garage and I’ve never hesitated in doing so, and it’s rare I refer anyone anywhere; but I feel they’ll get the best service at scranton auto, and no one I’ve referred has ever had anything but the best to say about their experiences dealing with them. At Scranton Auto they are good, hardworking, down to earth guys who take pride in their work. Have been very pleased every time I have been down there the past two years. Would whole-heartedly recommend them to others and will continue to bring my own vehicles there.

Pricing on some quotes really arent that great and the fact they dont have weekend hours is a total bust for me. Sometimes depending on who you talk to on the phone they come off rather unprofessional too. Really a shame as I would have liked to work with a local business vs a major chain as I like to circulate my money locally to promote small businesses. Could have ended up with a lot of business from me as I have multiple vehicles and work with tons of clients. Maybe Id give them a chance once they become a bit more competitive with their pricing and offer weekend hours for those of us that work Monday through Friday. Until then, dropping in with a one star.

I was only a few hours into a long drive and my truck started to act up. I pulled over and Googled. I saw the ratings were all great. Well they were all correct. It was not a pleasure trip and they showed such compassion and did not take advantage of someone traveling. They said that it would not be until mid afternoon but was able to get it in only after an hour or so wait. They even offered me lunch. Turned out it was a sensor. With that being fixed and me on my way I was advised to pull over and rest later on because it was still a 9 hour drive. Well on Monday I received a call making sure that I arrived home safely. Thats customer service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These guys are very thorough and precise. Always get me in and out in the assigned time. They never miss the little things and are courteous. I have sent numerous friends and relatives to them over the past years. Whenever I have to leave my vehicles, they provide a ride or a loaner, cant beat the service.

Absolutely helpless, that is how one ends up at the auto service center. And this place makes money out of your misery. For a steering set replacement this place quoted me $2200 against a $1300 quoted by the Hyundai dealership. I wonder how the above folks rated this place good or better. For me a straight $800 saving by avoiding this place for same work (at least on [paper)

Having just moved to the area, I was nervous about choosing a place to take my car. I had a better experience than I could have imagined. As part of the inspection, they naturally checked other fluids, etc., but they were up front about what probably needed to be done now vs what could wait. They also put a lot of effort in trying to solve a long-term problem that Ive had with my car--more effort than I experienced at two other shops in my home state. No extra charge for the research or for testing one possible reason for the problem. Plus we have a plan in place to test the other possible cause. Excellent service.

I needed to travel out of state, and they helped my with a last minute issue with my car. They were very through with my car and even took the extra step to make sure that there were no additional problems. I had a safe trip and I owe it all to them.

Had my car towed Fri around 10AM because of misfires & blinking cel. Tom the owner told me earlier when i called that he did not know if he could get to my car by end of day. I got a call by 2PM with an estimate & by 4PM my car was good to go. Since I expected to be without a car for the weekend that phone call made my day. I dont know of any other business that would have gone above & beyond like they did for a first time customer. John told me it was his goal to get my car back to me before he left. I highly recommend Tom & John for their professionalism & honesty. I will surely return :)

They are very friendly and flexible with there schedule for you. They will try anything to fix something for you I had Cds stuck and Tom sent my radio to someone to remove it and I had it back that after noon working! my antenna also was broke and I had a new one within two days on my car!!!

I was in a terrible situation. Four hours from home, two hours to my destination- came out of Wendys and the car was dead. It was after 4 pm on a Friday, mind you. I was desperate as a single mom and didnt want to spend the night somewhere I didnt know. I called the number on their sign and plead my case. The gentleman sent over his mechanic into the Wendys lot- across from their shop. The young man tried to help, but finally told me the starter was gone. I didnt know what to do. He asked his manager if they could help me. He called a parts place and they had my part-AND were willing to deliver it. The mechanic pushed my car out of the Wendys parking space, over to the grassy median between the two places. He and two other guys didnt mind helping me out by doing the job. Im sure they were anxious to be off work and get home for their weekend, but this lady is VERY appreciative of their efforts. I even got to my destination on time for the graduation. The price wasnt bad, and he got me a discount and I got a warranty to boot! I dont live anywhere near Scranton, but Id recommend them highly to anyone. They were gentlemen, didnt gouge the price for a single lady, and were very kind. Thank you, guys for everything!

Great service! Called for a brake change and to look at something else. Got me in immediately and the price was great. Super friendly and helpful. Originally gave 5 stars.UPDATE: Took my other vehicle there for the Jeep shake that happens in Wranglers... Replaced the steering stabilizer for around $400.00 - $500.00. As soon as I got it back, it was making a screaming noise. I phoned in and they had me bring it back. They told me the problem was that all 4 brake pads and rotors needed changed. I found it odd, as I had them changed a few months prior. They wanted almost $800.00 to do this. I honestly feel that they were trying to take advantage of me. I was almost due for inspection, so took it to Ricky Bryer in Scranton on recommendation for this. Funny, all that could stand to be changed were the front pads. It still passed inspection with the ones I had and he didnt even mention it until I asked afterward. I bought them for around $60.00. Savings of $740.00.I was a new loyal customer until that happened. You could have made a lot more money off of me if you were an honest business... I am upset that it happened and now I dont trust it to go back.
