Went to the Seabrook, NH store today to purchase a life vest. I looked it up on the website and this was the only store that showed any in stock. I drove 45 minutes to get there. When I arrived I couldn’t find the vest. I checked the website against on my phone and it showed 4 in stock. I went to the register and asked about the vest. I told him the website showed they had 4 in stock. He checked on his register and it said they had 2. He never made an effort to help me, just said all vests were aisle 8. Absolutely pathetic service. If this is the best you have West Marine, you are in big trouble. If I didn’t have a gift card from my son, I would go elsewhere. This will be the last time I shop West Marine.

I drove 40 minutes to get an igloo cooler that was supposedly in stock. According to their website they had two of them. The employees were very nice, which is the only reason I didnt give it one star, as they admitted the store hadnt done an inventory in over 18 months and it was very normal that their systems would say they had stuff when they didnt and sometimes would even say they didnt have stuff when they did. The store looked like a bomb went off with most aisles a mess or with empty shelves. Probably the worst part is that they have no process for deleting the two missing coolers from their inventory, which means others may very well experience the same thing I did, even for the two missing coolers, let alone everything else which inventory is inaccurate.

Seabrook store: Shelves were unorganized and barely stocked. Staff said they could not get supplies but when you look up at top aisle storage there was plenty of stock. Bob was a joke! I asked him about where I could find a product and instead of showing me he just stood with his back to me and said “over there” with a finger point. I left the store and drove 20 miles to the Portsmouth West Marine. The manager - another Bob - was EXCELLENT! He really knows his stuff about boats and how to take care of customers! Yes they are also experiencing stock shortages but Bob literally walked me aisle to aisle and explained products. He also made sure I got the correct annodes. Thanks Bob of the Portsmouth store! Customer for life here.

Bring lots of evidence if you plan on using price match. Found a seat online that I wanted and came here since they had it in stock. I found the seat in the store that was the exact seat. However it had been repackaged with the west marine name on it (see pictures below, you can see the actual brand name behind the blue mesh. Sorry I couldnt pull down the mesh any more w/o breaking the stitching). I brought it to the register with both the link from amazon and their online store. Heres the fun part. I showed them the amazon pricing which was the lowest. Their website showed a different (higher) price and the actual product had even a higher price on it. The cash register told me this was West Marine brand and tried not too honor the price match, even with the actual brand name branded in the seat (actual brand is Surf to Summit). Fortunately the manager was there and had some common sense. So buyer beware know that West Marine repackages other brands products as their own. I do thank the manager and another employee who helped me out. Unfortunately I forgot their names but they were helpful. Btw if anyone is wondering the seat itself is a surf to summit gts expedition kayak seat.

Overpriced on many items, but the Wouburn MA location usually will have anything you need for your boat, in stock. Getting someone competent to help you is tough on the weekends.

For the last 3 years this store has been literally empty of boating necessities such as electrical components. I gave them a hall pass last year due to covid but there’s no excuse now the place is empty — literally isles of pegs and shelves EMPTY… Before you waste your time — I’d call this store ahead before making a special trip…

Update your hours. I know youre not busy. Cant call when orders are at the store awaiting pick up.

Sold me a 5 horse Mercury propane 2020 motor. A older gentleman sold me the motor. He was very nice and honest. The motor is excellent, started right up and seems to be reliable. I recommend this store to other people .

Help was pleasant. Prices way out of line. Dont expect to purchase anything soon. You are not the only game in town

I did not find them very helpful at all. If i could not find what i was looking for on my own then too bad. I really expected much better and i could not have been more disappointed.

Rude staff and manager, poor selection, high prices, bathrooms closed. Two stores same thing.

Usually dont mind spending more on stuff at West Marine when they have plenty of knowledgeable staff on hand. Seabrook, NH store never seems to have anyone working at all who is knowledgeable other than basic retail items. Went in today to get help with an epoxy and gel coat project. Kid at the register says hes the only one there because other employee isnt available. Danvers, MA store is much better.

This store NEVER has any inventory......i live 2 minutes away and go to newburyport for everything now....

Overpriced suck hole. Maybe great if you need boat parts? But if you are looking for accessories, clothing stay away. I was in looking for safety equipment and dry bags and boxes, couldnt not believe the prices 3 to 5 times what I paid for same items just down the street.

Good selection of products. You can also always check online to see if the item you are looking for is in stock before heading to the store.

Rudest sales person I ever encounter with my 30 plus years of buying from WestMarine.I will never go back to West again.I called customer service but no follow up.
