This a gem. The owner was amazingly warm and helpful! He helped me find the black cocoa powder I needed and also shared some helpful tips about baking my cake. There is a great selection of sprinkles (be careful, you might leave with more than you had planned)! He was so pleasant and welcoming to all his patrons, including a mom with 2 kids. I was really touched by seeing such warmth at a business and I am so glad I found this place.

I went to buy macaron boxes, and they guy was so helpful he made sure I knew how much they were and put in an extra box just in case his count was off. I ended up buying other things like cookie cutters and gold powder I only spent $100 (which I was expecting to be more) great place for supplies, well priced, and great service. Will be going back for some new cake pans soon!

This shop is bakers delight. The person owning the shop( I think) is very knowledgeable and helpful. He just knew what we wanted, and helped getting all the ingredients. The fondue and icing were sugary surprise. They have lots of edible flavoring and some very niche ones as well. You get everything what the name of this shop indicates!

I’m so glad I found this place! It is such a gem. We intended to buy some basic baking supplies and ended up spending a good amount of time browsing; we walked out with some pretty great stuff! Very wide variety of metal and silicone Bake pans, frosting tips, various flavorings, cookie cutters, and all sorts of specialty baking equipment! Could easily and very dangerously spend hours and many a dollar here, and happily so :)

I stopped by looking for rainbow cake decorations. The shop owner was super friendly and gave me many options and pointers on cake decorating. For a novice like me, the service far exceeded my expectations. Ill be back soon for more. It is a small shop, but has a wide variety of baking and decorating equipment.

This place is just insane! But exactly what you want in a cake store. You can literally spend all day here and not see everything. There is stuff everywhere! Any baking supply you can get. The owner is super helpful and really nice. The reason I rated this a 3 is because though there is a lot, I felt the product was just a little out dated vs cake decorating now. I wish there were some more modern sprinkles and cake toppers, even more modern shaped cake pans. But for basics and any needs, def stop by. Prices are good.

Home Cake deserves to be listed in all the travel guide books and possibly be made into a National Landmark.Its a tiny shop filled with everything you might need for candy making and cake decorating and the whole Puget sound area pro confectioners and fancy pastry chefs are on a first name basis with the lady that owns the place.I neither bake or make candy but I can still find all sorts of cool, unusual and vintage decorations, from tiny plastic cows, hummingbirds made out of foam and walnut wings to dollar sign candy molds. She carries the full range of home as week as professional candy and cake decorating needs from pretty pastel candy chips, a wide range of flavorings, extracts and colorings and many sizes of cupcake papers and candy wrappers molds, baking pans etc.This business has been here for at least 50 years and there are things buried in the bins and shelves that her parents bought 40 years ago often at the price they were originally priced at.Dont expect tidy displays and stainless steel counters, its a treasure hunt when you visit and frankly a bit dusty but so is my house and my studio so I figure it all fits right in.Whenever I have gone in for one piece of ribbon Ive ended up spending at least an hour and $100 on art supplies. I overhear the owner patiently explaining to customers the best way to do this or that or brainstorming a solution that confounds the most experienced baker. She clearly knows her stuff, has a big heart and is a little sassy and I get the feeling you wouldnt want to cross her. These are qualities I admire and try to cultivate.No internet sales- Shes an old fashioned proprietor, you have to come by in person and you are missing out if you decide to sit at home and order from a big corporation online. Im lucky its near my neighborhood but I would happily travel to see whats new or has newly percolated up or out of the back room.I hope I havent over sold this shop, its a small, funky, hole in the wall, in a residential neighborhood, in a tiny, and cruddy old strip mall. She has a small but good bead shop and one or two generic offices as her neighbors. There is a few parking spaces and some street parking. I can always find a spot to park. 10-6 Tuesday through Saturday.

Take your kids here when you want to scare them. There was a little boy, who didnt listen his Mom and Dad. One day, they took him to this store. He was swallowed up by the endless supply of cake decorations, and was never seen again. Now he lives off of fondant and Marzipan. At night you can hear him scream! Now back to reality. It looks like a hoarder bought a store and moved their obsession into it. To say it is wall to wall cake decorating is an understatement. It is the land of cake decoration. Oh, and the staff was really knowledgeable and friendly.

When all the great little mom & pop places like this are gone and all we get are those chain stores, those sterile, bland amalgamations of the averages of peoples taste spread out over acres of once-useful land like a bad bean spread on a flavorless cracker, it will be a sad day. Home cake is a little time machine of joy for me. The clutters not a problem because the proprietress knows her stock, every last piece, and she has stuff you cant get anywhere.

I dont know anything about baking cakes, but its pretty clear these folks do! Great staff, very helpful.

Pro tip, this is the only place in Seattle that sells decent quality pretempered chocolate wafers that can be used for coating cookies, fruits and other applications. They have it in bulk for about $6 per pound. (The brand they sell at the Home Cake Store is much better tasting than Wilsons Candy Melts chocolate wafers that you can buy at other stores. Wilsons has an awful artificial flavor and a tendency to gum up if overheated.)The Home Cake Stores tempered chocolate wafers are not as good quality as high end chocolate you could temper yourself, but it it is a great timesaver if you dont have the time or ability to temper your own chocolate.

Very crowded small store... I was actually turned off by its appearance the very first time I visited this place. Despite the place looking like a hoarders dream, this woman has almost any and everything you will need to execute a fabulous cake! Dont let this crowded little store scare you off. I found out about this place on the web and I called hoping to find a candy mold for valentines day. Whoever I talked to on the phone was pretty rude and seemed rather annoyed to have to answer my questions. Also, I could barely get a word in to say what exactly I was looking for. I wont be going to this place anytime soon since they clearly dont value good customer service over the phone.
