One of my favorite places to hit up when planning a new project. You can get some ridiculously high end material (used) at a fraction of the cost or get things they just dont make anymore. Highly recommend a visit when planning a build and trying to up-cycle.
The best way to get rid of items in your garage or when doing a remodel. Also freaking awesome to get a screaming deal on items too. Vanity? Check. Just what I needed. Grohe faucet for $15? Check! Wood floor board to match those in my 1901 house? Yep. The website is always up-to-date with new items too, which has to a logistical nightmare. Not sure how they do it. Love this place and reuse is the right thing to do. Theyll even come to your house and remove items for you. No charge! The pictures are of a vanities journey from discovery on their website, to going home in the back of my car, to sat in the garage ready for install in a downstairs bathroom. $65. Seriously.
This place rules! So many neat pieces and great way to source material for DIY or renovation projects. Highly recommend!
The staff are really helpful and very knowledgeable. The prices are very reasonable and they offer their own line of great exterior paints at a phenomenal price. Recycling goods is always a win, win. Love this place!!!
Awesome place to browse. Of course you will sometimes stumble on a real find that fits your specific needs. Usually that will require a little bit of retrofitting. Well worth repeat visits!
I love this place! If you have never been, you should definitely check it out. Best of all, all the employees I have every dealt with are all courteous and hard working.
I havent been to this location before. When they were off of Hwy 509? South Park location. Years ago, I could find what I was looking for and prices were reasonable. The selection then was always good.
Reuse and repurpose stuff before buying new! Second Use is the place to start. Theyre packed to the rafters right now with great treasures.
Great buys on not to used building materials. Weve bought glass doors, windows, and other used items. Great selection at amazing prices! Helpful staff
I always end up leaving with more than I planned. It’s easy to spend hours here ‘treasure’ hunting. I live an hour away and it’s worth the drive for the variety of materials. Loading staff has always been helpful. I love the recycle reuse concept for building materials. Only reason I didn’t give five stars, is because the miscommunication between front/back desk employees has resulted in me being scolded, despite my explaining that another desk member instructed me to shop in a certain way. This has happened a few times.
We were told on the phone that whatever they couldn’t use, they would recycle to keep it out of the dump. I brought a carload of stuff left over from a major construction project. She took one box of plumbing parts. Briefly looked at everything else and said it would be too much trouble to sort through it. Big disconnect between what was described on the phone and what happened. Sounded like a great option, but wouldn’t bother with them in the future.
Cool place lots of good re used items
Their warehouse is amazing. Organized rationally with plenty of helpful staff. Their website reflects this. Shop here first.
What awesome place, staff very helpful, fun and knowledgeable. Find all sorts of secondhand items, easy to find.
Did a drop-off 5/25. Waited for us to take quartz off the truck (200-300 pounds) and then claimed it was scratched and refused any credit. Wanted one door but happy to let others go to landfill (can you pull the nails, were not spending all afternoon doing that). Donated what we could - they just walked away without a thanks and taking at least $300-500 in goods. Obviously rude and dishonest behavior is tolerated within Second Use. If youre going there to do something good for the community or environment, expect to be abused.
No credit received for my stuff! Normally Second Use will give me credit for all of the materials I bring in.. doors, trim, everything. Today? I dropped off a truck load of stuff (they listed it for $20 a piece) but gave me $0 worth of credit.. and of course no cash ever. They said my stuff was not worthy.. then why are you selling it for $20? I drove 30 miles to get there... no more. Im going to sell my stuff on craigslist and keep my $$.
I enjoy this place and the staff is awesome and helpful. And I will give them a 5 stars 🌟for terrific job.
Easy parking at this large established store that offers a lot of used doors and hardware as well as lamps sinks toilets washer and dryers and a disco ball. Like everything else, its a hit-and-miss as to when you go. Previously purchased a beautiful kitchen lamp for a lot less. Will continue to stop in from time to time.
The staff is really friendly and I can always find really cool odds that you cant often find and regular hardware stores. I love the fact that I spend less than a third for building supplies than I would spend in a home improvement store
Take your un-used build materials and stuff somewhere else. The folks in the drop off area are rude. I understood they might not want to take anything before i made the trip, but there is a better/nicer way to treat people.
Fun stuff in stock, great finds, and a very nice young man helped us put my friends purchase in the two cars!
Although the Tacoma store is much closer than the Seattle location but they always have things I want. They dont have a store transfer option so end up driving over an hour. However, it hasnt stopped me from making 4 trips to buy things. Ive mainly gotten lumber and doors here but they have big selection of everything you could think of. The staff at both locations are amazing. Ive included some photos of reclaimed barn wood from this location that Ive been using to make all my countertops. Ill throw in a picture of a cool table they had last year that I really liked. Im weird like that. =)
1st time here. So much to look at like a museum. Prices are good and helpful and the staff is very nice.
These people deserve all the stars I can give them. Donate your building salvage and parts left over from your recent projects. Also accepting metal scrap. While youile here, pick up what they may have for your next project. Great old planks with worm holes in them, appliances, windows, antique doors, chests of drawers, plus much more. I picked up clothes dryer $85 and kitchen stove $75. If you need a restroom dont ask for toilet as they have both
So much good stuff it is overwhelming.
Lots and lots of good antique and newer stuff
I love this place for the quirky items found and odd building supplies I might need.
Great selection, doing good for the community and helpful staff.
Love this place, best on-line accurate posts of inventory you could ever want. Nice people, good finds.
Friendly helpful staff, useful variety of used building materials that are well organized and reasonably priced. Also partner with Habitat for Humanity...Win,Win,Win
Second Use is the place to go for supplies. Very helpful staff!
Constantly updated selection of great items for updating or repairing your home
Wow! This place is great. Everything I needed to remodel my home at a fraction of the price. Staff are great to work with.
I love Second Use. They constantly get new stock, so theres always something new to find. Also, theyre toilets are amazingly clean and well kept. Most stores of this type do not cater to a girls needs and have terrible restrooms. Not Second Use. The last time I was in there they were even freshly painted. 👍
Cool stuff there.
Love the concept Of this place. Most of the staff are very friendly. However there is a couple who constantly nag me about my service animal being off leash. Its really annoying. The dog is super trained. He does not need a leash. And hasnt done anything to anyone. They preach policy and rules and I dont care. I will not follow stupid policies or rules. Home Depot/Lowes doesnt harass me. I have more flexibility on an airplane than this place. My SA flies more than most Americans.I am not one to preach guilt before innocence. If a person or animal has not ACTED negatively, just say nothing. I am the one taking risk. And after 9 years of nothing in this 11 year old dog, my risk has been worth the gain.Im not returning here unless this policy is relaxed. And the staff taught not to be so aggressive in upholding it. Back to the box stores where common sense is the rule/policy, not customer harassment.
Awesome merchandise and friendly, helpful staff. Thanks!
Fair pricing on used building supplies.
Great place to find some great older items.
Good place to find used things. Usually have what Im looking for.
This is a great place for building materials and fixtures. Fair prices, good help, huge inventory, always changing and a mission to keep stuff out of the landfill.
Alot of cool 2 time around building materials
Its fun just to explore this place and imagine what you can do with all the interesting stuff. We found what we needed to make a kids desk and steps for the boat.Dont buy the brass horses! We are coming back for them!
Pretty awesome place for unique house stuff and vintage tools. Got some great old hand tools to restore for $1-$2 each a sf shipyard crate box for $5 and a quality 12 bandsaw w/stand for $95
I am an avid upcycler. Second Use has so many cool and random items, a great website, and cool staff! You can drop off items too.
This is a super unique and fun store to walk around. You could get lost exploring all of the different architectural salvage. They have furniture, appliances, building supplies, wood, and other nick knacks. If you are doing a home project and you are on a budget, definitely stop by.
Great place to hunt for relics to reuse
Bigger than earthwise but not as fun to look at.
So many interested items!!So expensive!!
Such kind and thoughtful employees, reasonable prices, great materials
Great inventory. Unique
Always a surprise when I stop there
We love Second Use! They always have a broad selection of items and unique lumber, and dropping off salvage is super easy.
Awesome as always. My favorite diy resource in Seattle.
I just recently discovered this place and not only does it have a phenomenal selection of reclaimed building materials but more importantly tons pieces of local Seattle history ready for you to own. I bought a set of used Bose speakers there, forgot one of the two, thought Id stupidly misplaced it, was about to donate the one I did have when on of the Second Use staff reached out to tell me they had it! Now that right there is how you earn a lifelong customer. Thank you Jessie!!
All sorts of cool stuff
An absolute treasure trove of unique, beautiful, sturdy second hand items at very reasonable prices
Always great treasures. Old doors, trim etc!
Wayyy over priced! A better selection on somethings than others. They are friendly and helpful there.
Cant wait to go back when I have time to just look around - so many amazing household and construction items to see.I got a replacement for for my sons room for just $12!
Pretty expensive for used stuff but a cool store
Very helpful staff and a wonderful place to recycle and repurpose used materials. Service is prompt and smooth :)
Great place to find reclaimed lumber and other reusable materials.
SO much good stuff!! Great prices. All you need is elbow grease and a little imagination!
Huge store of reclaimed items from homes and hotels and various buildings. Prices pretty high for used, banged up stuff on a lot of it. Once in a while there is the perfect vintage thing tho.
Courteous staff. Long lines at the door. As usual good selection of second hand home goods.
You can find great bargains on good materials here and friendly sraff.
Great store with interesting inventory & helpful staff. Merchandise is easily accessible and well marked.
There is always something fun at this store. Got to keep my hoarding in Check. The staff is very friendly.
Ive been buying building products from SU since they opened and have always had a good experience
Great place to find a used item and save $$$!
Had exactly what I needed. Also had a lot of unique items
Too much fun that is if youre into this sort of thing.
Bought a brand new Elkay bar sink with faucet, drain, and book for $75. Woohoo! Great deal. Customer service was great as always.
Too long line. Left after waiting 30 minutes. I love the store otherwise. I think they should limit for how long each person can stay in the building.
While the inventory and pricing are great the customer service is some some worst i encounter when shopping. Half the staff I have encountered is rude and lazy.i have been lectured for taking the pricing sticker off an item to hand it to the clerk to ring it up. The item was in my cart next to me, I was purchasing it, and they were upset I pulled sticker off. Essentially accusing me of switching pricing sticker on items. They recently sold an item i had in my cart over the phone, told me I couldnt purchase it, then asked me to restock it.i only come here for the product, if SecondUse was a local hardware store I doubt they would be in business. If you shop there, expect a subpar customer service. experience.
This place is amazing!! So many great finds... you could easily spend hours looking at all the treasures. This location is quite a bit bigget than the Tacoma location. I love repurposing anything that I can so this place is ideal! Wonderfully helpful and friendly staff!! Highly recommended!!Thank you!!
Flynn is the man! He was an expert forklifter helping Us with all the cabinets we purchased and so patient with us and kind. Super impressed with his work ethic and ability to multitask while helping to load our uhaul in a speedy/safe manner. Hope to work with him again on all our future projects!
This place is really amazing with something for everyones home or project.
Amazing place. Staff is always wonderful.
A great place to look for building material, plumbing parts, tools etc. Friendly staffs, items are priced reasonably.
Great store.
Low-cost new and used building materials, tools, appliances, and all things imaginable large and small.... many things you would never expect... Helpful friendly staff.... TO COOL!
Good place and price
Great place to help finish a project, but an even better place to inspire new projects! Always something new & unusual, especially in regards to lighting.***AMAZING STAFF!! They work well as a team, do their best to help each customer, AND they make it look easy!
Bargains to be had here if you are flexible with material size/type ecetera. As a remodel contractor this place has saved my butt many a time trying to match old materials or get a bargain for clients on a budget. Their entire inventory is online and searchable. They also take old materials. For more valuable items they sometimes will give store credit.
Always a pleasure to buy from Second Use, despite the challenge of Covid 19 restrictions. Always helpful in loading big things in smaller vehicles.
Currently restoring a building that needs darned near everything replaced. Found new (undrilled) solid fir doors for $50 each!!! AND the staff is always extremely helpful & awesome.
Great spot to find random used building materials. Prices can be a little spendy but you can find some treasures you may not find elsewhere. They have wood slabs as well.
This place is great. There are lots of unique finds and fun things to look at here. I think this would be a great place to find some awesome starter pieces for a room that you could design the whole room around. I found a great solid core door for super cheap. They have windows at a steal too.
