This has been a year long process. When the damage first occurred our consultant give us two options: replace or wait and refinish. We went for the long-term option since we were not in any time constraints and it worked out very well. Very professional, results more than expected. Need a little more follow up with an issue not related to the job, but resulting damage from the moving company. Still give them an A+

Like many of the reviews on here we had a very pleasant experience with Flooring America when the process began. Our insurance company, Farmers, worked to set us up with Flooring America and begin the process after we had some minor water damage. This went quite smoothly and we had a really good feeling about how things would turn out. We had concerns about the finish that was going to be used, Bona-Traffic water based, and made our concerns abundantly clear. We had read very mixed reviews about it, but were repeatedly assured that it would be equal and likely BETTER than what we currently had on our floors, and better than the Swedish Finish that is known for being smelly. As soon as the day came to do the work that good feeling turned into a lot of confusion. The office and the person doing the work were not in agreement on what was going to be done. We were told that refrigerators, dishwashers, washer/dryer, would all be taken out of the house to ensure the entire spaces were done by the front office. The worker had no intention or tools to do this. He assured us it would be fine to just move them out of the way and wait until the floor cured to roll them back in place. Not knowing any better we agreed and cleared up the expectations, but WE had to do the work of talking to the worker and the front office. A bit odd since we already had this agreed, but then again its our floors so it was clear to us we had to make sure the job was done right. The job was completed and we moved back into the house after the recommended timeframe after the floors had cured. At first the job looked fine and we were happy. Then we noticed areas of extra finish and spilled on our stairs, which we dont believe were covered, and other minor areas of sloppy application. Eventually we pulled out the fridge to clean behind it and to our surprise, the wheels had been finished in place and did not roll, additionally a puddle of finish was caked around where they were put. This ended up creating large gouges in our floor. We coordinated with Flooring America to come out and repair the gouges and they did send us new wheels, however the pools of finish were not fixed. Out of sight, we can live with this, however it attests to the lack of attention to detail with the job.Fast forward almost a couple months later and I cannot tell you how horrible our floors look. We had lived in the house 3 years and the floors looked great other than the slight water damage. Now they look like theyve been through a war. The amount of scratches/imperfections that are visible in the floors is astounding. It really shows the horrendous quality and durability of the Bona-Traffic water based finish. DO NOT EVER USE THIS PRODUCT ON YOUR FLOORS. I cannot stress enough how unhappy we are. We have been trying to rectify the situation for almost a year now between insurance and Flooring America and because it isnt a workmanship problem we are told theres nothing that will be done. We didnt want the product in the first place, yet were assured it would be just as good. Now its clear it isnt as good and its our fault for choosing it. Its very disappointing the experience we had and the result we now are stuck with. We feel very cheated by the system in play here and will never give business to either company again.

We highly recommend Flooring America. We have had the need to work with them twice in 3 years due to two different water leaks that damaged our Brazilian cherry hardwood floors. Water damage to hardwoods is never fun!In 2016, our first flooring problem required us to have all of our hardwoods refinished. Flooring America was great. They provided good learning so we knew what to expect, handled all the details associated with moving furniture and appliances in and out and getting us back in to our home as quickly as possible. All their people were knowledgeable, responsive and pleasant to work with.In 2019, our second flooring problem required that we have all of our Brazilian cherry hardwoods ripped out and replaced. This was a major job and much more logistically complex than just the refinishing project in 2016.Again, Flooring America was great to work with. From assessment, project planning, procurement of the new wood, demolition of the old floors, install, refinishing, movers, finishing work – Flooring America was there and lead us through the process. They managed the sub-specialty craftsmen and partnered really well with our tradesmen who were doing a few other things at the same time. Both of these jobs involved working with our home owners insurance adjuster. Flooring America was a strong partner in this regard. They dealt with the submission of information, answering of questions and really acted as our advocate to get the repairs done the way we thought was best.

I appreciated how helpful they were when I needed carpet quickly and that they had quality options to chose from that I could have installed within a few weeks (not the case at other places I looked). The owner explained everything to me and helped me pick a carpet that fit my needs and budget. The install went well and a year later, everything still looks great. Will definitely use them again.

Im actually a little surprised by some of these negative reviews! So much so this is the first review I have ever left. Flooring America Seattle refinished my parents entire house, and I was so pleased with their service and results I have become a customer and will continue to go there for all my flooring needs. Ilaria and her team have such a depth of knowledge and great relationships with both their in-house installers and preferred vendors - the level of care in their craft is felt by the customer. Also, supporting a woman run small business locally here in Seattle - win win win!!

Flooring America exceeded our expectations! We had flood damage so they had to replace vinyl, laminate and carpet. Each installation was handled quickly and very professionally. They have a high standard and keep the work area very clean at all times. There were separate expert installation teams sent in for each type of flooring. Paul did the carpet and did a beautiful job. Thank you SO much Flooring America for making a painful situation that much more bearable. We will highly recommend you to our friends and family.

DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY!!My insurance company had me use this company to refinish my floors after a water leak. They pushed me to use the Bona Traffic water based product on my oak floors. DO NOT use this product if you had original Swedish finish style flooring. My floors are 30 years old and showed practically no wear in any of the main traffic areas with exception to the small section that got water damaged. With the Bona Traffic product on the floors, ALL OF THE FLOORS SHOW WEAR AND SCRATCHES. This product is merely a STAIN, it does not protect the wearing of your floors. Our neighbors told us NOT to use the water based finish as they and their friends had seen the results. We requested MULTIPLE TIMES to have the original finish applied (a polyurethane product) and were steered away from it every time by Ron Oliver of Flooring America. He assured us it would be better than the original floor. This is NOT TRUE. I had requested to another employee at Flooring America who was doing the main scheduling and communication with me that we would only use the Bona product if it was assured to us that it would be the same as our original floor. We were still pushed into using the Bona product. There is much to this story starting 2 weeks after the floors were refinished. We have complained to our insurance company (who is still trying to help), Flooring America (WORTHLESS CUSTOMER SERVICE), a Bona representative, and engineers. WE ARE UPSET AND DISAPPOINTED. Flooring America WILL NOT HELP US. We paid them and they are telling us we should be satisfied. WE ARE NOT and will TELL EVERYONE WE KNOW NOT TO USE FLOORING AMERICA OR THE BONA PRODUCT. It is an unreal lack of customer service, of doing the right thing of making it right to the customer. Mind you, the total job was only about $7000. For what weve been through you would think it was $70,000!!BOTTOM LINE: DO NOT USE FLOORING AMERICA OR BONA PRODUCT.

The sale and in store service were great. The marmoleum installation was a big problem. The installer did not arrive or even call within the two hour window, 8-10 am. Installer called at 11 to say he was running late! He arrived about 12:15. The installation was sloppy. He got glue on walls, porcelain fixtures and even on top side of marmoleum and did not clean it up. We removed most of it ourselves. Some perimeter edges were not glued down and lifted up. I learned that the installers are not employees but are subcontractors, so the company has no quality control. Very unhappy with the experience.

Do not do business with these guys. When you come in they will treat you like royalty, as if there were no tomorrow. Then when you end up going with them, that is when the service goes straight down hill. No joke. They completely messed my order up and then my install. I wont bother going into detail. The point is, a business should help the customer with all order and install issuses if they want happy returning customers and referrals. Obviously these guys dont care about repeat business, all they want is your hard earned money.

We came in to look at the flooring products and ask some simple questions about flooring and custom work. The man who talked to us treated us both rudely and was condescending to my fiancée. He told us to just go to Lowes or Home Depot.

The woman who works there was ridiculously awful. She was just plain rude. I spoke to her on the phone and in person and I dont know how she is customer facing. I will never go there again.
