HELPFUL STAFF. GREAT PLACE TO FIND SPECIALTY HARDWARE AND TOOLS. THE ONLY PLACE I FOUND KITCHEN CABINETRY HINGES I NEEDED.
A friend needed a wood glide for an antique dresser. They had it!! I also managed to get sucked into(willingly) to learn about woodworking classes, which I plan to enroll in. Make and take classes such as turning your own bowl on a lathe. Thats where I will start. This could be the beginning of many a beautiful things. Thank you for the wealth of info just by me stepping in the door. Eye opening!!!
Went in to make a purchase and get a free coffee mug and apparently the coupon had expired the previous day!!! no help from the manager, just a $10 price for the mug. not very good customer service.
I truly enjoy doing business with Rockler Woodworking and Hardware. The managers and sales force maintain a great supply of tools, materials and accessories and the place just has a great feel about it. The clerks are unfailingly helpful, knowledgeable and totally pleasant to deal with. This is definitely a primo destination for all your woodworking and cabinetry needs.
If you enjoy working with wood & you need special ideas, parts, tools, plans or total project plans This is the place for you!! I find they have the not only what I need but also suggestions that can make the project much easier to complete!
I worked with Andrew to fix a glitch on my order of an 18 Jet bandsaw, they accidentally sold me two on a phone order by mistake. Andrew resolved that quickly and found out that it was back-ordered from the manufacturer. He followed up with me and stayed on top of the situation until they had it shipped. - I didnt have to chase him for the information, he was bringing it to me! Outstanding customer service!!My bandsaw arrived in a solid custom shipping crate in perfect condition.Ive got it all assembled and ready to get to work. I look forward to many years of use.My next shop purchase will again be with the Seattle Rockler Store for sure!!
With the help of the team I found the matching soft spring hinges from Blum. My old hinges were 15 years old so the style had changed, so the person that helped me was very knowledgeable and found a matching hinge out of 40 possible choices.
If you love woodworking or like to work with wood projects, this is the place to go! This business has everything from wood woodworking hand tools, machines / equipment, dust vacs, small wood projects and one of my new favorites is their hand held CNC router. Check out my pictures on Google for a visual tour.
I have a question. Do you guys buy used tools that are still in great condition?
Fun store for woodworkers. Lots of interesting parts and pieces.
Rockler is our go-to place for wood-working projects. No question is too small, and employees always seem helpful and genuinely interested in the project, asking good questions and proffering helpful tips.
Went in looking for dust collection junctions and found them. Staff was great!
Just being honest here…two of us waited 5 minutes at an empty checkout counter for a clerk…a couple clerks saw us, but made little effort to quickly help us.
Awesome store if your hardwood floor guy like me👍
Friendly, professional, helpful, and KNOWLEDGEABLE staff. Good selection. Looking forward to being a regular customer and doing some of their workshops.
What kind of hardware store doesnt have nails and a minimal selection of screws 🤦♂️
The staff at the Northgate Rockler are some of the friendliest, most knowledgeable folks I’ve had the pleasure to deal with!
They are always helpful and knowledgeable, but not pushy. consistently good shopping experience
Best place to spend the rent or take a company credit card!
Great selection of wood working tools and materials. Very helpful staff.
This store is great but they always seem to be closing early, or have random hours changes that make it very difficult to actually shop here.
Have unique stuff there that you can only find at their store or web site!
Wood lumber and boards are good price they have more variety of exotic woods than Home Depot and Lowes combinations!!!
I love this store. The guys there always have great ideas and share some of their experiences with you as well. They have almost always had what I need.
This company sent me an empty package through Amazon this spring and refused to make it right.
Ive stopped in to purchase a few things over the years, but today I really looked around, and was surprised by how much this place has to offer. Many more of my projects should have started here, and many more will. Tyler, in particular, was informative and friendly. Variety and prices competitive with online stuff, and a ton of wood.
Best woodworking store around
Really helpful staff.
The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They always seem to have something I need.
Very helpful and knowledgeable.
The staff are very nice, give help and answer questions.
Helpful staff. So much fun to browse and get inspired.
Great staff, love coming here the bargain bin for all the ends and pieces of wood is always fun very beautiful wood and would definitely recommend wood workers to go here!!
The staff at the Rockler were very helpful. I give them 5 stars!
Rockler is my go-to source for quality woodworking supplies and advice. Always friendly, the staff are knowledgeable and helpful.
Found the apron and glue I needed and opted for a cabinet makers pencil offered at check out. I was disappointed that the gloves I wanted were out of stock
The sales people very helpful. Found just what I was looking for today. Great place to get wood to work with also.
This is my go-to place for all woodworking projects. Yes they are a bit more expensive than Home Depot or Lowe’s. You get what you pay for. They have everything you could imagine and more. The staff is very helpful. I spoke with, I think his name was, John. Super helpful. Got everything I needed for the project and I know the new tools are going to work!! Thanks Rocker!
Im new at this whole woodworking deal. I like going in there and very unafraid to ask question because no matter the project they always do a great job to point me in the right direction. All their employees are very knowledgeable and have various types of experience.
They have a great selection and are super helpful. A bit expensive but cant really help it for specialty items like this.
Fantastic service and amazing selection. Found my new wood working store!
Ive had better experiences with Rockler. This time I needed an item for turn pens. Help was scarce and claimed no experience with what I needed. After about 20 minutes of digging though bins I discovered what I needed was actually two parts you had to put together ... would have been nice to know that in the beginning.
Quality products. Quality employees.
Associates are friendly and helpful, its a great store!
Great products, great people, great service. This will be my go-to from now on.
Awful management. An employee misleadingly advised me to buy a router to troubleshoot an issue with another router Rockler sold me, and they refused a return when it didn’t resolve the issue. So now I’m stuck with two garbage routers that tear apart wood. Their return policy wasn’t made clear when I made the purchase, and isn’t competitive with what woodcraft or others offer.I’ve spent thousands here and I won’t come back again. I will be doing a chargeback for selling me two defective routers.Super disappointed in your customer service when it counts. Particularly the assistant to the manager, Andrew, who has been a dismissive jerk every time I’ve been there to spend excessive amounts on tools.Daniel, on the other hand, is a great employee and super helpful whenever I chat with him.
I am pretty patient and appreciate decent service when I want it. I wandered down a total of 2 aisles and had 4 workers come up to me to ask if I needed help. Like after I said no thank you to the first two leave me alone.
Stopped in to look for corrugated fasteners and was disappointed with the slim selection - youd think for a woodworking specialty shop... Anyway, I mentioned this on their online survey hoping that Id be providing constructive feedback and having no greater expectation. Next morning, I receive a call from the store manager to discuss and remedy the situation. Nicely done! Rockler has truly redefined the meaning of service.
As an older woman I often receive poor service at home repair big box stores. I was pleased and delighted with the courteous and attentive customer service at this business. I am often pursuing projects that I have invented myself, and it can be tricky and time-consuming to find the right solution. The person who helped me was patient and helpful, he gave me the time necessary to explore options and he had enough creative and problem-solving background to be an asset to my quest for reaching a solution.
I prefer woodcraft, but rockler is good and 45 minutes closer to me
The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. As a novice woodworker, I rely on them to tell me what products I need - and dont need - and they have never yet steered me wrong. They carry Wonderfill, which is the best wood filler ever! They also have a took sharpening service which is great. The turnaround is quick and my pruning shears came back razor sharp and perfectly aligned.
You ever go to a hardware store to puzzle out the solution to the problem youre having? Maybe pick up a few tools and wonder if theyll work? Not at Rockler. While the store is stocked with diverse and quality materials, their vibe is definitely lockdown mode. Even small items (say, a $6 whittling blade) are locked down on the shelves. I understand loss prevention, but man, Ive never felt more like a criminal in a store -- cant touch anything and stalked by the staff. Helpful becomes, overbearing real quick.Prices are competitive, but expect to pay a small premium -- typically 5-10% more. (Say, a buck or two on small items.) Shop is clean, well-planned, and has a good selection of reading material as well.Gets the job done, but any other hardware store in the city may be a better option service wise. (I recommend Second Use for building supplies, City People for upscale stuff, and Maple Leaf hardware for general purpose -- the difference is night and day.)
I was at Rockler Woodworking to see a demo of a small router table. Overall the demo was good got good idea as to its capabilities. As this was my first visit to the store scanned the whole store. It has a wide variety of hand and power tools plus other stuff that one needs. The staff were helpful in explaining product use etc.
Manager is fantastic, very helpful and super friendly. Both times we have gone in he has taken the time to make sure we knew all our options for various projects. If interested he has a lot of knowledge on stains stains and coatings, as an engineer I appreciated his technical apptitude. We will definitely return for future projects and needs.
Helpful staff, too bad theres not a store North of King county.
The store is awesome (has everything specialty woodworking that you may need) and the employees are extremely knowledgeable, that being said some of the employees are extremely passive aggressive. It’s really hit or miss with the employees, mostly miss.
Knowledgeable staff and wide selection of options.
Rockler is an incredible resource for anything related to fine woodworking. Ive found their varnish and finish selection to be particularly helpful. Their ability to make special orders or restock out of stock items in a timely fashion is their weak point. But generally they have most items you could need for any kind of woodworking.
Helpful staff. Found what I needed.
Incredibly knowledgeable staff. Many of the employees are a bit older, but with that age comes an incredible amount of wisdom and knowledge. They have some power tools and a large selection of exotic woods as well as many specialty woodworking items for finish carpenters woodworking hobbyist that might whittle or hand-carved wooden objects, as well as lots of supplies and tools for woodworking Turners that use a lathe to turn objects like pens and other specialty items. They also offer classes that you can sign up for online to learn about tools as well as to learn about woodworking itself like the processes and types of woodworking joints. They also rent out their woodworking studio with all of its tools as well as an instructor. although you will have to schedule this ahead of time sometimes as far out as a week or so and you have to call and schedule it with the manager so that he can adjust the employee schedule to make sure an instructor will be there during the time you want to be there. Its $40 for an hour but you can rent the shop in half an hour increments. They do have lots of hardware and fasteners available as well but mostly for specialty woodworking objects whether that be installing a banister -using hanger bolts, or making a tool box, jewelry box, a drop leaf table, etcThey also have a very good selection of finishing products and tools for staining and finishing woodworking objects. And they have a selection of shopstyle tools you can purchase like taller sanding drill presses drum Sanders, portable planers as well as dust collection fittings tubes and accessories they also have some other machines available to look at in-store like CNC machines and lasers 2 cut and make different types of projects. And online they offer classes to teach you how to work those machines.
The short version:Great staff and store manager, decent selection of brands, and a WIDE range of products with decent prices. The longer version:Friendly and great customer service. If one person doesnt know the answer to a question, they will point you to the staff member who has more knowledge. Case-in-point, I bought my first hand plane here, and I was directed towards a gentleman who walked me through all the parts, pieces, and gave me the recommendation on which one to buy as my first one. He even directed me to a couple of online resources for hand plane guidance and care. The store manager is a super nice guy and had no problems immediately jumping on a register to help shorten the line of customers that had started to form on one of my trips. The store layout is great. As stated by a few folks, their selection is pretty diverse, but I will also say that there is a HUGE emphasis on Rockler brand products, for better or for worse. Regardless, there is typically a range of 2-3 brands (minimum) per item you might be looking for.One nice feature of the store, that I havent had the chance to take advantage of yet, is their workshop. Surrounded by protective plexiglass, they can hold demos, classes, and let you try some things out before purchase. Havent utilized it yet, so I recommend looking on their site or calling for full details.
If you are a woodworker, you have to take a look. A little bit of everything from wood, accessories and tools.
I was at the Seattle Rocklers spending my birthday present gift certificate. The staf were exceptionally friendly and helpful. I asked if the had a simple Woden Car Kit. They said that the kits didn’t arrive until November. But they gave me a demo kit they had for free. Pretty nice.
Get all my hardwood here for projects with my son. Very knowledgeable staff. Thanks rockler!
Lawrence was awesome! Spent some time showing me all sorts of sharpening tips and really knows his stuff. Great store.
Great store! Very friendly and knowedable staff. Well managed and they have everything you will ever need for woodworking
Clean, professional always a good selection
Great place to shoplift. Ive visited this store three times, and was never greeted or asked if I needed assistance. Invisible to employees.
Their great
Great toy store for the wood worker. Wide verity of products and great classes.
Premium products with premium prices. Not for everyone, but if youre willing to spend more than what a big box store has, this is the place to go. For a wood store, they dont carry much wood.
Used to go to rockler on stone ave, and it was much better. Prices way to high at this location and wood selection has been cut in half
Great store, all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Good selection, great deals.
Great place. The people at this store are always helpful and informative.
Took a short class and bought some shop supplies. Great place!
The manager doesnt know how to do math correctly and overcharged me for hardwoods stating “its industry standard to round up to the nearest 8th inch” I dont mind paying the extra $13.77 for this piece. Needless to say at a $137.70 per $1000, I will take my business on larger orders elsewhere. Do yourself a favor use the boardfoot calculator from the university of Missouri and know your fractions and decimal conversions then go to a reputable dealer who will give you an honest experience without the sales pitch.
Very knowledgeable and helpful staff
Super friendly, staff came right over to help! Check out staff hella friendly 👍🏼
The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. This place has a large selection of quality tools, finishes, and hardware to help you with your projects.
They are very nice and wise on woodworking. A bit pricey but worth it.
Best place for tools and equipment!!
Amazing staff and great exotic lumber selection!
Great service and well knowledge staff
....always knowledgeable and helpful staff make it a pleasure to shop here!!
All things wood, that you can all get at the Big Boxes or even Dunns Lumber. For example, if you want an all metal combination square thats more than just approximately 90 degrees, a choice of hand planes, more boards than just pine, cedar and a little oak, go here (or their new location in Northgate, soon). In other words, beyond contractor level of fit and finish, you need tools that you can find here, along with friendly, knowledgable advise.
Finally, a woodworking store north of Seattle! Staff is friendly and knowledgeable too.
Great selection of tools, hardware and wood stock. Friendly staff!
Great service. They have what I need
If it has to do with fine wood working this is the place.
I like the store very handy for the woodworker
Love this place! A must visit for finish carpenters and wood workers.
Well stocked store with a friendly, knowledgeable, helpful staff.
Great store with wonderful wood and more.
Good place to find your woodworking needs
Always love this place, staff is great, friendly, and super knowledgeable
